Our Church has a mission team in Haiti Right Now. They left on July 26th and are due to return August 3rd. In an e-mail update from our pastor, we know the team is doing just fine and in that update he said on one of the days during a two hour period 179 people came to Christ
I want to ask you all to lift them up in prayer and also please lift up their families in prayer as negative things have been occuring while they have been away. Since the mission team has been away, within the families there has been 1 hospitalization, 3 illnesses, a car broke down, financial difficulties, oppositions dealing with a home owner's asssociation that is prolonging a family business/ministry from being opened, and more. So all of your prayers are needed. I thank you in advance.

Praying for your church team! That is totally awesome what they are doing. Will pray that the attacks against the families will cease.

They are back! Many souls were brought to Christ, lives were touched, and there was even a baptism.
However, prayer is needed because old Satan was at it again.
While away, the whole Haiti team had diarrhea and several were very ill. One of the team members who is a professional phtographer in her spare time was designated photographer for the trip and both of her cameras broke. The pastor's account was negative the day after he left and his wife and 4 children were trying to get by on $15 (she didn't share this with any of us). He is still in serious financial trouble and to make it worse, he was the only one not to receive his paycheck in the mail. I mailed off all of these checks personally because I was volunteer church secretary while they were gone. Everyone else received their checks on Tuesday.
Please continue to lift up the Haiti Team in Prayer....

Dear Family and Friends,
This Haiti trip was probably one of the greatest experiences that I have had on the mission field. It was special in several areas: 1) The revelations of God. It seemed this trip the Lord revealed Himself in such a powerful manner. As many of you know, our Lord is constantly speaking to us but often we are unable to hear because of the stress of life and the bombardment of so much stimuli here in the States. As soon as I set foot on the blessed soil of Haiti, the Lord was speaking loudly and very distinctly. He spoke to me on the future of Haiti, the wellbeing of my team, the future and destiny of Briar Creek, the blessings of my family, His heart for the Church and so much more. I was filled with supernatural glee to hear the voice of the Lord so clearly. My fellowship with the Lord was so sweet and transforming. I was able to wake early with the roosters (5am) and have my quiet times in such a rich consistent manner. A feat which is so difficult here in the States. As we know, the Lord speaks in so many different ways: The Lord revealed much while I was in His presence during the many prayer and worship services that we attended. As well, the Lord spoke through His church in Haiti, the body of Christ. I learned so much from the people, my brothers and sisters in Christ. It really appears that Christians in Haiti seem to be more authentic in their faith and their devotion to God. I guess when God is all you have, God is all you got. The reliance on Him is real, tangible and evident in every day life. For some reason I have always been drawn to authentic faith. And maybe that's why living overseas is such an attraction to me. The Christians in Haiti were a breath of fresh air, or should I say they were really filled with God's Spirit.
2) The Acts of God. God performed many miracles in our midst. We were able to witness the ultimate miracle of people coming to know Christ. I'm not sure if everyone realizes this, but watching someone go from death to life, darkness to light in an instant is the greatest miracle in the cosmos. Just think it...before our very eyes we saw people rescued from the grips of an eternal punishment without their Creator to the embrace of their Loving Father and eternal security. Wow! Grace is truly Amazing! We saw our prayers answered tangibly and quickly. Sad to say, but we would be amazed at God answering our prayers so fast! For example, we prayed for a stomach ailment to be healed and within the next 30 minutes, the person was healed. At one point on our way to Gros Mons, we were stopped by soldiers at a check point. All the other cars and trucks were being searched, we were able to continue on our way. These acts may be small in your eyes, but when this was the norm and not sporadic occurrences, it was cool to experience. Our God answers prayers consistently!
3) God's Power and Peace in the midst of Spiritual Warfare. Folks, Satan is real! And 'he' is especially real in Haiti, the land where Voodoo is one of two recognized official religions. And 'he' has a lot of power. But praise God 'he's' not all powerful. The Ultimate Power and Authority belongs to our Lord of Lords, Jesus the Christ. Many on our team were attacked in various ways through sickness, technical difficulties with equipment, obstacles and so forth. But it was so cool to see that the attacks actually made us stronger. God used these pressures, inconveniences and fiery darts to actually make us stronger. We were like the olives being crushed in the olive press...Satan meant it for evil but God used the occurrences to make Olive Oil. Our team rose to the occassion and exuded the sweet oil of God's Anointing. Many came to Christ because of our team and people were encouraged in the faith. As you know, 4 teenagers were part of our team. One of those young people, Denee kept getting sick and had to opt out of a couple of activities. Well finally, Denee got sick and tired of it and told the devil even if she had to vomit all over the place she was going to participate in the dance routine. Well Praise the Lord! As the result of her resolved and her mother's prayers, she began to perform and was healed instantly. God's power was made manifest in our weaknesses. The Lord rebuked the devourer for our sake and again the Lord got the Glory! There was an instance when our team set up on a plaza to do puppet ministry. We were asked to leave by a bar owner because we were disrupting his business. Well the team moved to a street corner and got a bigger crowd. Later that night we went back to the original spot and had a Crusade. At this very spot where we were kicked off there were nearly a thousand in attendance. Many gave their hearts to the Lord. What an awesome God we serve. When the enemy comes in like a flood the Lord will raise up a standard against Him. God's Grace is Sufficient.
4) Lastly, God confirmed that Haiti is a special place. The relationships that we gained there will be forever etched in our lives. Our team especially myself have fallen in love with this beloved country. Not only are the people beautiful but the physical landscape of Haiti is beautiful. It is no wonder that Satan hates this country so much. God is going to do and has begun a mighty work there. Haiti is going to be a place of prosperity and rich blessings. As the land of Israel was restored from a barren desert to a flourishing oasis. I believe the promise is there also for Haiti. God gave one of our team members, Paula, a prophetic word regarding Haiti from Isaiah 41:17-20. Please read it when you have time. God is using Haitian believers to bring back their country under the Lordship of Christ. They are the water as we to water that parched and thirsty land. I praise God that we at our little urban church, Briar Creek, can partner with this little country no bigger than the state of Maryland to usher in His Glory and Restoration. As you know bring in the Glory of God can come in many shapes, forms and fashion. It can be witnessing door to door or painting a room in Notre Maison, an orphanage for handicapped children to baptizing one of our interpreters. It really is true, God uses the meek and weak things to shame the proud and strong. I want to encourage you not to despise the seemingly mediocre occurrences in your life, like spending time with your family or developing a relationship with a co-worker for the gospel's sake or giving a couple dollars to missionaries. When you commit these to the Lord, He is glorified.
To best exemplify our trip several of our team members saw 3 white doves land and perch on the roof of the Guest House we were staying in Les Cayes (south of Port-au-Prince). This spoke loudly to our team. These doves were right in a row and stayed there for several seconds allowing our team member to take several photographs. The 3 person Godhead was telling us, that He was well pleased with our mission for Him. We were to set out on a never ending journey Protected by the Father, In the name of the Son and led by the Holy Spirit. To Him be all the Glory! Continue to pray for the freedom of Haiti.
I love you!
