The greek word in the original scripture is ekstasis. The definition is amazement. The word trance was substituted for "amazement". But, the original scripture never refers to the displacement of the mind. Obviously, Peter's mind was not blank as he was experiencing a vision from God.
We have to be careful how we pray and teach others about the Word. I know and understand you (teamjesus), so...please, do not misunderstand. You made it a point to stress Peter was in the Spirit and that he was able to "SEE" a vision. Thank you for providing the scripture in it's entirity. There are many religions that teach meditation and trances as a way of worship. They teach that we should clear our minds and blank them out and keep them open for fulfillment, etc... That is not of God. That is new age. That I do not agree with. |
