How to become a moderator and leader on this site.

So many of you have asked:
What are the requirements for leadership on this board.

I have so longed to share the responsibilities of this site with so many.
It is a scary thing to give responsibility to the wrong people.
I am so jealous for everyone on this site.
I am so jealous to protect their privacy so they do not get hurt.

You see if you are a moderator you have to ability to do good and to do harm.

Moderators can delete, and otherwise change other peoples info.
Moderators have access to the personal profile.
Moderators have to ability to email anyone on the site.

I have so wanted to share this burden with so many.
Buy it must be with people who are on the same page and see the same vision
It must be with people of the highest integrity and honor I can trust.
It must be with people who can take instructions and have a humble spirit to follow leadership.

I have been watching so many of you because I wanted to ask you to join with me in this quest.

As a moderator you must be sensitive to what the Lord is telling leadership to emphasize for prayer. For instance when we post a request at the bottom of every prayer. A person of leadership quality would not ignore such a request. They would understand that must be very import to Hard Program a special prayer request on every prayer request.

Another example are the article on the home page. We pray very hard about them because the front page real estate is very expensive and very limited. It is the first thing every new person sees. How sensitive are we to these news articles. By the way that is why we get so many guest. They see these articles in the search engines.

So I am still looking for that leadership.
I am looking for those who want to join with us in building the most powerful site on the internet.

If you think you would like this please PM me.
If you have any comments please post them.

Thank You
Pastor Jerry

Jerry...with everything we have going on at home with trying to vacate our sold home by the end of the month, and move into our new one... I do not have as much time as I would like to be on board... once we get a little better situated, I will be speaking with you in pm, as you know we have talked about some of this previously,in what areas I am interested, and where I would like to help. I ask for anyone who feels led to pray for me right now, and our family regarding our moving, to do so... for we have been running into obstacles, and time is running out. Thanks to all,and thx Jerry for this thread on moderating. God bless.

Hello Pastor Jerry:

I am new here.
This scares me. Do you know these people. If they have access to my personal info what stops them from spaming me. If they get mad at you what stops them from emailing me with stuff I don't even want to know about.

I was on another board and when some people got their pride hurt they emailed every one trying to break up the board. NonChristians snuck in and played it cool for awhile then started sliming everyone.

That is when I found it here.

I like this place. I have not posted to much yet but I like it here.
You don't seem to step in to much.

On the other board almost everything got deleted.

You guys don't seem to be afraid to stick your necks out.

Arn't you afraid the government will shut you down with all these prayers for Bush.
Arn't you afraid the muslims will get after you for praying they get saved.

All this Holy Ghost stuff and miracle stuff don't people get upset.

That is why I like it here. You seem to have everyone.

I just don't want to get spammed by a moderator.

Will your people follow your lead or will they get on their high horse and secretly PM complaints about you Pastor Jerry. That is what happened on our board.

Well I pray for you.
I really like it here so I Pray the Lord will bless this board even more.
I pray for you Pastor Jerry.
I hope these people see how hard it is to keep a board like this going.
Jesus put angels around this place and let people get saved or helped in Jesus Name.

Newbie
Thomas.

Thomas... we respect Jerry here.... We respect and love him very much. We know he has been watching to see how people pray and respond and act to situations, and to posts. He knows some of us better than others... but he watches over all of us. I for one, trust his judgment in whom he will assign as moderators... I know he will pray much about it, and seek God's answer as to whom to place in these positions.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience on another prayer board. It is a shame that all do not unite as one on the Body of Christ. We were attacked last week by a person who came online and posted vile and disgusting things, posted vulgar pictures of our Saviour on here... it went on for almost 4 hrs... we united in prayer for this person... we spoke to this person about the love of Jesus... we united in doing this. Our greatest strength comes when we are united in prayer.
No one will agree with everything 100% of the time, everyone won't agree with anyone 100% of the time... we are individuals, unique to each one's self...yet we are united in the Body of Christ... we are united in being saved by the Blood and death of Christ Jesus... and wanting to see all have that same life saving salvation...

Hello Thomas! Welcome!!!

Yes, there is a risk in making someone you do not know personally a moderator.

This is one of the few draw backs of being online.

I do know that Jerry moves slowly on choosing someone to moderate, he REALLY IS very jealous for those who come here to feel safe and well loved.

I know Jerry personally and the other moderators are close friends or his family members... for now... he knows the board is getting too big for the few of us to take care of and he has set up accountablitiy for the moderators he chooses.

As far as I know, everyone who is in Administration or a moderator here are all on the west coast, we need people in different time zones so that the chances of 4 hours passing during an attack will be less... We all have to sleep sometime!

Kudos to the members who came against the attack with their most powerful weapons... prayer and love for the attacker(s).

Jerry is having to give Trust to people that he only knows through the board and that is hard for him but even he has to sleep once in awhile!

The goal for now is one million visitors to the site per day. Right now, I think we have reached about 1.2 million per month. So you see that Trust is imperative if we are to grow.

If you get ANY email or private message that is SPAM or harrassing or divisive, forward it immediately to JG or SHAWN! Never be afraid to tell someone about abuse! It will be dealt with quickly.

I will not ask you to Trust us here at Anointed yet, I will ask you to Trust God because He is ultimately in control of this board and He holds all of us accountable.

Once again! WELCOME!!!

Jump on in and begin praying for people!

WARNING!!! Prayer is ADDICTIVE!!!

I don't want to shirk, Jerry. I just get very nervous. I take repsonsibility seriously, and if I agree to do something, I want to carry through. I don't always post on the articles on the front page. Sometimes, I miss one that is on the bottom of each post.

I am really wanting some different situation regarding work, so I can have more time for anointed.net. I work very irregular hours, and just when I think I'm getting something steady, someone quits or something, and I end up getting scheduled for days I originally had off or different hours on day I was scheduled. I used to tell people we should meet in the chat room to pray at a certain time, then I ended up working during that time. So I gave up. I have been packing to move to another apartment, so I have been busy with that, and hardly had time to post in here. Mostly post for the President.

Also, what if we are gone for a weekend or a longer time on a trip or vacation? Or other things are keeping us busy? Will we be in trouble for missing one of your threads? Some of them don't stay in the bar at the bottom very long, and I might miss one, and I may miss it in the forums once it moves from the bar. Or will you send the moderaters notices of all the threads you start?

Sometimes, I honestly don't know what to pray. So can I just say "I'm praying in the Spirit for this" or a simple, "Praying about this."?

Can I still be honest about my struggles and weaknesses? How do I know if my post is going too far? Who tells me when my post is out of line? I feel that leadership must be authentic and vulnerable, and that is why I would still want to be able to share the REAL me.

If I want to take some days off to seek the Lord, would I be releaved from my responsibilities for a few days to do that?

I want more responsibility, but I sometimes just, plain don't have time. But, then, I'm on here for hours sometimes, anyway. I make a way to get on here, because, as Carol said, prayer is addicting!!!

I know that's a lot of questions, but I drive the Lord crazy with umpteen questions, too! . I need to have the whole picture of what is required in order to commit to anything.
