Jesus IS the Word that was sewn....

In John Chapter 1, it says the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.... Jesus is the Living Word. In light of that truth, this parable came to mind:
Matthew 13
The Parable of the Sower
1That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. 3Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop--a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9He who has ears, let him hear."
10The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?"
11He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 13This is why I speak to them in parables:
"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand. 14In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
" 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.'[1] 16But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
18"Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. 22The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. 23But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."
So do you see what Jesus is saying? The devil is the one snatching us away from intmacy with Jesus! For a short time a man pursues Jesus with joy, but then because he has no root, he quits. When trouble or persecution comes his eyes are off Jesus and on the problem.... Then there are the worries of this life and the deceitfullness of wealth. How many times have thoughts of and worries of money choked Jesus out of our lives?
The last person is who we want to be! The one who understands the need to seek Jesus and pursue Him. The one who listens to Jesus words/voice and understands what He is saying. This passage even refers those who would not or can not hear what Jesus is saying.... but those who had (and what did the disciples have? Simply a hunger for Jesus) would be given more. The last man yields a crop of a hundred or sixty or thirty times what was sewn! I pray I am in this last category!!!

Praise God I am the one where seed falls on good ground and it will produce a hundred fold return. I am in agreement with you Jerirose. To God Be The Glory!!!

Thank You so much for this post, JeriRose! It is what I need to hear. Let's scatter the seed that God has given to us to as many young people as we can, and water when God gives us the chance. I am reminded to cast the seed out in different directions....we never know how big the increase will be in any one thing, and we want part of it all! Who knows what will happen and where?
Ecclesiastes 11:6 "In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good."

I'm glad this word blessed you guys. I was thinking of how I've been distant from God, not seeking Him like I should.... 
. He gave me this revelation, especially about the cares of life and the deceitfullness of wealth.... with all going on, I think I can't find Him. But I MUST not let these things choke HIM out of my life. I have not been reading His Word, either.... and He told me recenctly: "I am The Word; The Word is me...." He keeps giving me words to seek him.... So, I have let The Word fall on the ground with thorns.... Today, I was getting into His Presence, as I listened to Michael Card and John Michael Talbot ("Brother to Brother"), then, later, Delirious ("World Service"). I am so thankful that He is helping me find my way back to Him!
It just hit me, too, that Jesus seemed to be telling His disciples "The reason I am revealing the secrets of the Kingdom to you is because YOU are coming to Me and asking Me to explain these things." So, you see, those of us who seek HIM will understand the things of the Kingdom. I had a revelation recently, that just as a couple who really loves each other says "I want to know EVERYTHING about you," and they just share all that is going on in their lives back and forth, that is how God loves us. Once I share what's going on in my life, God wants to share with me what's going on in His. He wants to share with me the secrets of His Kingdom! If He has a plan to save Bill Clinton, as I believe He does, He wants to tell me that.... then, I, as one who has His ear, will know how to pray the plans of His Kingdom into existence! Just think, after I share with God that work was hard today and I am stressed about paying the bills and it's sad that my sister's husband wants a divorce and that I am struggling with my faith in light of my sore shoulder and how I wish I didn't make up all these stories to create world's more exciting than my own.... that HE, THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE, THE CREATOR OF IT ALL, THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD, THE ULTIMATE RULER OF IT ALL, wants to share with me what's happening in His life.... WOW!!!
