An Atheist's prayer was answered by God

My Dear Friends:

After three weeks of prayer and intercession. After all the prayer request and praise reports from Charley, Frances and Ivan. After the heart ache of what is going on in the world today I needed a break. I hope you like this. Now unlike the GrandMa funny story this one is a little different. I just though we needed a break. I hope you enjoyed this one.

An Atheist and God
An atheist was taking a walk through the woods. He said to himself:
What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!"
As he was walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.

He turned to look.
He saw a 7 foot grizzly bear charge towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path.

He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing in on him.
He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer.

He tripped and fell on the ground.
He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear right on top of him,
reaching for him with his left paw and raising his right paw to strike him.

The Atheist cried out: "Oh, my God!..."

Time stopped. The bear froze.

The forest was silent.
As a bright light shone upon the man, a booming voice came out of the sky:
"You deny my existence for all of these years, teach others I don't exist,
and even credit creation to a cosmic accident.

Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?
Am I to count you as a believer?"

The atheist looked directly into the light,
"It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now,
but perhaps you could
make the BEAR a Christian?"

"Very well," said the voice.

The light went out.

The sounds of the forest resumed.
The bear dropped his right paw,
brought both paws together and lifted his head toward heaven and spoke:

"Lord, bless this food,
which I am about to receive from thy bounty
through Christ our Lord,
Amen."

Yes, thank you it did make me smile. Some day I would love to meet your wife, she has to be a very special lady with a very special anointing to be married to a minister that spends a lot of time away from home. I admire her very much. does she ever come to the meetings?
I pray for your services in Portand for miracles and wonders with signs following the likes of which they have never seen before.

Dear Linda:

Thank you so much for being the first to like my cartoon.

I am just in one of those moods today.

I don't know if you get in any moods but sometimes I just need to take a break.

Dear Pastor JG,

Thank you for this picture and story, it inspired me a lot!

I am just wondering, but I know our God is a mighty God!

Thank you for all this word and lovly story!

Thank you for making me laugh early in the morning. I really liked the bear story. Also thank you for the sweetest look of Yeshua that you radiate to people. This past week has been so refreshing to us here in Portland. You are so special to us. Give Jan a big bear hug from us, for giving you up to the body of Christ. We love you Jan and know God will h and is surely blessing you for it.
Numbers 6:24-26 always on you and your family.

Good way to start the day!

(Giggles...) Yes, I loved it, too. I've been enjoying your broadcasts so much at night, but here lately it has been kicking me off and telling me you timed out and then it says it can't find you.....I don't need a break, but I understand if you do. Man, God is wonderful, isn't He?

We're going out of town for awhile. I wish my hubby & I could come up there to the meetings.....I love the smells of the altar - all the manifestations that come when you are there in person. It is wonderful listening at home, but still.....

It might be inappropriate to post this here, but if you can tell me.....what is the spicy smell that comes just instantly when you pass someone, or they pass you? It disappears so quickly, so I know it is revelation, but I haven't been able to figure it out......

I hope you find the rest you need. I will be praying for you and all the people here while I am gone......

this was very funny thankyou for bring a smile to my face. Amen

The aethiest should have read the rest of Genesis chapter 1. He would have known the proper hiearchy of man and animals!

Also-Doesn't this sound like Esau and Jacob! -the selling of the birthright!

If only the aethiest knew the power that could have been released through him if he knew Jesus! If only he knew his predestined authority in Christ!

Thanks for the fuel!

I've had fun with this!

I thank you for taking the time to send these to me sometimes I get inspirational letters in my emails if it is okay with you I'd like to post some of them let me know. God Bless you and your Family and all the people in Florida and the surrounding areas. I pray to the Lord for Peace Amen.

Dear Jerry: Your joke gave me such a laugh that I first thought of my unsaved son and sent this joke to him in spite of the fact that he has asked me not to send Christian emails. Here is his reply

Dear Mom,

I love you but this email is in poor taste. What kind of a god would be vindictive enough to let a bear eat a man just to prove a point. Besides, I think many Christians have been eaten by bears, lions, kimodo dragons etc.

Your Son,
Bear food.

Why is it that when I read "Bear Food" under his name that I laughed. Jerry, please anyone who is reading this pray for the deliverance of my son from the enemy of God who would like to keep this young man (he's 26) from knowing the goodness and mercy of Jesus. As a young toddler I dedicated him to the good Lord over and over again and he has much to offer the kingdom of God in terms of his talents and abilities.... Please pray for his salvation. I have posted a similar request on the "prayers for salvation" prayer board. Do you see the subtle hints from him as a truth seeker?
Thank you.

When I heard it, it was a lion -- no lion. But it is a funny one. The atheist is a believer now, right? Thanks for your sense of humor; sometimes we get SO serious as prayer warriors....

Hello Jerry, and Family, just wanted to check,on you,and the christian family,to see how you all were doing. It is a good thing to get a laugh once in awhile. Life would be very dull,if we didn't laugh sometime. My prayers have been with you,as well as the victims of the storms, that have been going through Flordia, states, and countries. God is a Good God,and he is going to protect, and take care. Things are easier when you know the Lord. The storms maybe all around us,but God is in the mist of it. I would like to say to all that are going through the physical storms,as well as the storms of nature. Look up to God which cometh your help, and He will bring you through. Amen,To The Glory Of God!!!!!!!!!!

I am SOooo serious sometimes that I just need to be SOooo SILLY at times to counteract it God gave me a great sense of humor, and a love of silliness, and for that I"m blessed When He said "Be like little children", well... you get the point Child-like and child-ish can be a good thing ENJOY your moods

Hi Jerry,
As I was at the meeting at the Melody Ballroom last Thurs nite, I had this vision:

A huge, fierce mouth with fangs appeared... the mouth closed, and I could see that it was the face of a lion... huge, now lying at rest... the Lion of Judah. Behind HIM was a dragon lying in a heap... trashed, with a small bit of smoke coming from it. The Lion gave me almost a wink... a satisfied look that said "I took care of him for you...". A crown appeared on the Lion's head, confirming that HE was the Lion of Judah. I knew this was for Portland!
Then I could see legions of angels... warring angels all around the periphery, totally white and VERY buff, having fought the battle with the LORD.

Then a different angel began to appear, many of them, coming into the meeting... these were not buff, but solid gold in color and shiny... the LORD said they were "word angels", bringing the word of GOD and HOLINESS. You preached Sunday night this week that the Word brings holiness... the very thing that the Father is speaking to His people NOW... HE wants us holy!
This scene was imposed in between a vision, and then a dream of a severe warning for the USA... concerning replacement theology toward Israel(being without love toward GOD's chosen people),... and concerning the threat coming out of the sea... the Pacific... the threat of oriental customs and religions, working their way insidiously and subtily into our western culture. The warning was that if we take our eyes off the threat, it will bite us in the back... the right shoulder specifically (government/authority). I take this as a call to PRAY for our nation and our region!

Thank you for your heart toward Oregon and Portland... may the LORD bless you back abundantly for what HE is doing through you in the meetings last week and this. The atmosphere here is being affected for the Kingdom of GOD as you minister, and we respond. HE is ever MORE PRESENT in us. Praise GOD!!!

Abundant blessings,
GoldDotCom... Diane Sella

I loved that joke! It just goes to show God does answer even when you try to use him , but it can have dire consequences when you don't accept the Lord.- Renee Savino

Thanks Jerry. This was so funny and inspiring as well. It teaches us that God will never force Himself on us, we just have to accept Him willingly and out of our own accord. The art work is great. You have a gift. God bless.

That about the atheist, and the grizzly bear was pretty good, and held such a good meaning. Thanks alot for the laugh, it helps at such a hard time. You all, if you will remember my family in prayer, we have a very critical situation that we are believing God to turn around and we would really appreciate all our brothers and sisters helping us to lift this request to the lord.
Raise my Grandmother up, and set her feet on the solid rock so she can run all over the devils face and prove that he is a liar.

That is too cute and too funny Pastor Jerry. I really did enjoy it. I was surprised by the ending. I wonder what type of after taste the bear had. LOL God bless everyone. I pray that this message does reach someone whom is thinking on leaving that type of lifestyle and turn their lives over to God.
