Daily Prayer for the Men and Women in the War Zones!

Hi All!

As I was looking through the forums this last week I noticed that there had not been any posts for the men and women who are fighting in the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan (or anywhere else for that matter).

The violence has been escalating this last couple of weeks and we have not been praying for them!

I find that appalling!

There have been two men murdered by terrorists yet there was only a few who prayed for their release or Salvation.

I find that heart breaking!

We have been praying every day for the President and I would like to ask us all to start praying for the men and women who are fighting, living and dying in the war zones.

Our prayers can make a difference!


God alone can cause Peace in these war torn countries and He can only move to put a stop to the horror when His people come to Him in pray to ask for mercy and peace.

When we pull together the load moves easily. Please let us come together in prayer to move the heart of terror and replace it with the love of God.

Father, I come to stand in the gap for the men and women in the war zones. Holy Spirit, move in the hearts of the terrorists to bring them to repentance and salvation. Protect the men and women who are in danger from terror and reveal the snares and traps before they are sprung so that people do not die and are not hurt. Open the eyes of the guardians to see the bombs and the bomers. Open the eyes and ears of the spirits of all those in the war zones to hear the Word of Salvation through Jesus! Prepare the hearts and minds to hear of the love of Jesus! Work in the hearts and lives of the people in the war torn lands to bring them to Jesus! Father I ask for the killing to stop. The hands of terrorist to be tied and if they will not repent I ask that they be revealed and captured and brought to justice for what they have done. Father, stop the killing. Stop the maiming and deaths of innocents. Protect the children. Bring peace to the war zones and bring the souls of the people to Jesus.

Father you said there would be wars and rumors of wars. You also gave us the gift of your son Jesus Christ. Through his name, we can send out prayers up to you. We pray for the men and women fighting in these war zones. We send up prayer for the civilians living in these areas. I pray for their safety. I pray that the rebels who have persecuted this people are routed out so peace may prevail. I pray for christians that they may worship God in freedom and in safety. Bring salvation like a light in the dark to this land.

Lord, I would ask for protection of our troops that are in harms way. Please let them be shielded with the holy Spirit and kept protected. Please let there be a peaceful resolution to this conflict in the future so that our borthers and sisters in uniform can come home.

Father, I pray for our men and women in the various war zones. Father, I pray that a hedge of protection is placed around all of the troops and civilians. May Your angels encamp there. May they be safe from all harms and dangers. I pray for the terrorist as well that they will see that these tactics are senseless and that they will stop. I pray for their personal salvation that they will stop these actions and turn to You. Father, I just pray for peace to prevail in all of this in both of these nations, Afghanistan and Iraq. Thank you Carol for this post. I hadn't thought to check and I don't keep up with the news on the war as I need to focus on what God has told me about my soldier. And not what horrible things are happening over there. So I am glad you decided to do this one.


Father,
I pray for everyone of those men and women who are over in the east fighting a war that is more spiritual than physical. Father give them the wisdom to fight not just a physical war but a spiritual one. I ask you to keep my friend David safe while he is there as he will be leaving soon for one of those places Carol mentioned. I pray you will keep him safe and send him home for his 2 week leave so he can meet his new baby girl. As she will be joining us soon. Father, I pray for my frined Rhonda's husband Rob keep him safe and give him a christian friend to stand with him in this time of battle. Also, give David someone to stand with him also. Who knows maybe Rob and David will be working in the same area and be the one to hold the other up. Anyway you want father, give them other christian men to stand with them. Give them strength and keep their minds and hearts from the evil in that place. Gaurd not only their lifes but their spirits and minds from the enemy of their souls as I know you have done for my soldier. FAther, hug them everyday and let them know you are there when we and teir family can't be. Give them peace in a very unpeacful place. In Jesus Name, AMen

Father I stand in the gap for the men and women in the war zones. I don't care if they are soldiers or contractors or civilians who love the country or the residents! I stand for the killing to stop, the terror to stop, the bombings to stop. I stand for the Salvation of the Countries! I stand against the powers, principalities, demonic forces and familiar spirits of those who live, work or visit the war zones. Lord I even stand for the media personnel who are there whether they agree with me or not. I speak Salvation to their souls. Holy Spirit, I free You to move on the hearts and lives of the people in the war zones. Bring them to Salvation in Jesus and stop the killings and the abductions. In the Name of Jesus! AMEN!

Father, I have heard the news again in Baghdad and it is again awful. Various car bombs going off, death toll rising. My heart is saddened by it all. Father, I know that these terrorist don't know You. If they did they would not being doing these senseless killings on a daily basis. My heart grieves. I pray for salvation for these terrorist. I pray for their souls. Father, I pray that their eyes will open and that they will see that destruction that they are doing is not right, it is spiritually wrong. Again, Father I pray for their souls. I pray for salvation for these terrorist. May these senseless killing cease.

Father, as always, I pray for our men and woman soldiers, cilivians, and citizens of Iraq and Afghanistan. I pray that they are safe from all harms. I pray that angels are covering them as they go to and fro in each country. If any of them have not given their lives to You, I pray that they do so as You are real.

Father, still praying for our the safety of our troops, civilians and citizens of both Aghanistan and Iraq. Continue to keep Your mighty hand of protection upon them.

May they terrorists eyes open to all of the killings that they are doing. It is just senseless. May they turn to You. They need salvation. I pray that they see that and come to You.

Father, stop the killing. stop the kidnapping. stop the assassinations. bring peace to the war torn lands. release angels to minister to the people and prepare their hearts and ears to hear the Word of Salvation! Bring them to Jesus for thier Salvation and Deliverance from the hands of the principalities and powers of hate, war, and death.

Father, I ask for the life of Kenneth Bigley. I want his Salvation so bad I can taste it. Holy Spirit, prepare him for release from the hands of terror and prepare him to hear that Jesus Loves Him! and offers him Salvation and Deliverance!

Father, I ask for the group of ten women who have been abducted by the terrorists! Father! men like that are not adverse to rape and mutilation and I stand firmly in the gap against the spirits of rape, mutilation, torture and pain and fear! Jesus, go to these women and release them from their captors! Send angels to make a way to freedom for them! Holy Spirit, work in their hearts and lives to quickly bring them to Jesus and Salvation! I ask for the lives and Salvations of these women in the Name of Jesus!

Father, please send more intercessors to pray for the people in the war zones. I stand in the gap for the intercessors, move on their hearts to pray for the troops and other people in the dangerous areas of the world. Keep them safe so they will pray.

I stand in the gap for the men, women and children of the war zone. Lord send the Holy Spirit to work in the war torn countrues, lives and hearts for the Salvation of the people. Send legions of angels to defuse and reveal the traps, bombs and killers to the light of the world for removal. Send the angels to surround those who are trying to bring peace to the land to fight for them and minister to them. Stop the killing, abductions and terror.

Father, I heard this morning that 3 headless bodies were found in Baghdad today, two were Identified as Iraqi and the third has not been identified yet. Lord please don't let it be Ken Bigley. Please stop the killings. the two Iraqi's... what did they do to deserve death in this manner? Lord another american soldier was also killed by a bomb this morning. Stop the killings. Protect the men, women and children who are in the war zones. Stop the killings. the children are afraid to go to school. Stop the killings. I heard today that close to 2/3rds of the population of Iraq is under 25 years old... Children! Lord... Stop the terror and killing. Raise up this generation of Iraqi's in the admonition of God, not allah, Jehovah Shalom! Bring them up to know Jesus as Lord and Savior! Bring them up in the Holy Spirit! do not allow this generation to continue in the terror of the past and the dead generations. Bring them up in the Father God who Loves THEM! In the Name of Jesus! Loving Father, the news coming out of Baghdad just gets more and more sadder by the minutes. Various bombs going off again, discovering of headless bodies. Father, my heart grieves so much for this country in utter disarray. This is just too much.

Father, I pray please cover all of the soldiers, cilivians, and citizens of Iraq and Afghanistan. May they be covered by Your angels of protections.

And again, I pray for the salvation of these terrorists who think this is the right way. May they understand that following You is the only right way and following You is the only way to Heaven.

Dear God, myheart griefs each time I hear of another bombing in Iraq and Aftganistan. I grieve for the familys who have lost a very brave loved one. I feel for the buddies that have lost a close friend, I feel for the cilvilians tha suffer from this war because of the violence. I pray Lord that this will be over way before the four years that our goverment is stating. I ask Father that you continue to keep those who belong to you and to save those who do not know you! I pray that our troops all come home safely to their loved ones. They keep being strong to fight for what is right. Most of all let them know in their hearts and their minds that we the people, they left here, pray for them and love them very much. Father, stop the terror.

Stop the killing.

Stop the repression and oppression.

Stop the hate and fear.

Stop the lies.

Stop the wars.

And Lord, for the Troops of all Alied Nations serving in the war zones, seeking peace and Democracy for them people of the Countries they are fighting in, I ask that the enemy's traps be exposed before anyone is hurt or killed.

Give these men and women a super-natural sense of where danger is and the wisdom and knowledge needed to preserve the lives of all those involved or in the danger zone.

Lord make these troops the best there are and bring them up to the level of bravery and honor that is the unspoken and often under achieved ideal for a military man or woman.

Loving Father, Merciful Jehovah, I pray for Your mighty hand to be upon all of the men and women soldiers, civilians, and citizens of Iraq. I pray that they are protected from the environment of hostility and strife around them. May they covered by Your strong arm of protection. Place hedges of protection around each life.

Father, again I pray for the savalation of these terroristics factions. Father, I come to stand in the gap for the soldiers and civilians in the war zones.

Lord stop the terror and killing and the abductions.

Holy Spirit, work in the different war zones to expose the works of terrorists to the light of day to protect the people who live and work in the danger zone!

Work to bring people home from the wars safe and unharmed body, mind and Spirit.

Do not allow the soldiers to die because of a mis-lead man or woman who feels they need to die for their cause by driving bomb!

Bring these people to Jesus QUICKLY for their Salvation and eternal destiny to be set on the path to Heaven and not head first into hell.

Expose those who plan terror! Bring them to justice and repentance!

Lord! Nothing they do here on earth deserves eternity in hell with no hope for redemption!

They are just as in need of a Savior as I am and just as worthy!

Mighty Father, I have just read more news about the terrible bombs that claimed additional lives in Iraq. Father, my heart is incrediably saddened by all of this killing.

In Your mighty name, I pray that these terrorists stop this. I pray that their eyes will open up. What they are doing is so wrong. It is senseless and it needs to stop. They are killing innocent people in the name of hate.

I pray for this to stop. I pray for their souls. This may sound cliche, but they need Jesus. They need You. They need to want to serve and follow You so that they are not deemed to spend the rest of eternity in hell.

I will not stop praying for these people. I will not stop praying for the innocent, our men and women soldiers, civilians, citizens, etc. I will not stop praying until all of this has ceased.

Father,

I ask you to be with the military as they fight for our country to be a safe place to live and a place for their children and grandchildren to be proud of I pray that you keep these men and women close to you. Father, show your awesome power and might let them see who it is really that has protected them in this time of crisis in their lives. Comfort the families who are at home waiting for their soldier to return to them and keep thier soldier safe from harm as Carol has already prayed for them daily. I thank you for her willingness to hold them before your throne. I thank you that when I am at my weakest Carol and others seem to be there to hold the soldiers before you. I thank you that my soldier will be home very soon now. I pray you keep your hand of protection on him and the troops around him. I pray that his light will shine into the darkness and show your love to those around him that they may see Jesus living through him and that they may receive your salvation if not now in the near future. I thank you Lord you are taking care of us and have been and I know always will. I pray for David that you surround him with a legion of angels now that he is where my Dear Husband has been for almost a year. I pray the pillar of fire around him and ask that he never feel alone while he endures this painful seperation from his family and friends. I pray that their new baby will be safe and healthy upon arrival in the next few weeks. I pray that the family will feel the love of the only one who can get them throught this time of seperation. Father God, the news out of Iraq is more and more distrubing. 50 soldiers just brutally and cowardly murdered! Kidnappings continually going on. Bombs going off. Father, it is just all too much. The more I read and see the more my heart is burdered.

Father, I pray for this all to just cease. I pray for the terrorist to be brought to justice. These actions must be stopped!

Father, I continually pray daily for the safety of the soldiers, civilians and citizens of Iraq. May a hedge of protection be upon them. Cover them, Lord.

Father, it just keeps on going on and on in Iraq. Now another kidnapping of a Japanese man. Father, I pray that these terroist actions cease at once. I pray that these terrorists are brough to action! I pray that these terrorists are stopped! I pray for salvation for their souls as they really need to repent and claim YOU as Lord and Savior.

Father, my heart cries as I stand here in the gap between heaven and hell for those who live and work in the war zones! Father! They need You so much! They need Jesus so MUCH!!! They need Salvation! Marines turn to God ahead of anticipated Fallujah battle

NEAR FALLUJAH, Iraq, Nov 6 (AFP) - With US forces massing outside Fallujah, 35 marines swayed to Christian rock music and asked Jesus Christ to protect them in what could be the biggest battle since American troops invaded Iraq last year.

Men with buzzcuts and clad in their camouflage waved their hands in the air, M-16 assault rifles laying beside them, and chanted heavy metal-flavoured lyrics in praise of Christ late Friday in a yellow-brick chapel.

They counted among thousands of troops surrounding the city of Fallujah, seeking solace as they awaited Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's decision on whether or not to invade Fallujah.

"You are the sovereign. You're name is holy. You are the pure spotless lamb," a female voice cried out on the loudspeakers as the marines clapped their hands and closed their eyes, reflecting on what lay ahead for them.

The US military, with many soldiers coming from the conservative American south and midwest, has deep Christian roots.

In times that fighting looms, many soldiers draw on their evangelical or born-again heritage to help them face the battle.

"It's always comforting. Church attendance is always up before the big push," said First Sergeant Miles Thatford.

"Sometimes, all you've got is God."

Between the service's electric guitar religious tunes, marines stepped up on the chapel's small stage and recited a verse of scripture, meant to fortify them for war.

One spoke of their Old Testament hero, a shepherd who would become Israel's king, battling the Philistines some 3,000 years ago.

"Thus David prevailed over the Philistines," the marine said, reading from scripture, and the marines shouted back "Hoorah, King David," using their signature grunt of approval.

The marines drew parallels from the verse with their present situation, where they perceive themselves as warriors fighting barbaric men opposed to all that is good in the world.

"Victory belongs to the Lord," another young marine read.

Their chaplain, named Horne, told the worshippers they were stationed outside Fallujah to bring the Iraqis "freedom from oppression, rape, torture and murder ... We ask you God to bless us in that effort."

The marines then lined up and their chaplain blessed them with holy oil to protect them.

"God's people would be annointed with oil," the chaplain said, as he lightly dabbed oil on the marines' foreheads.

The crowd then followed him outside their small auditorium for a baptism of about a half-dozen marines who had just found Christ.

The young men lined up and at least three of them stripped down to their shorts.

The three laid down in a rubber dinghy filled with water and the chaplain's assistant, Navy corpsman Richard Vaughn, plunged their heads beneath the surface.

Smiling, Vaughn baptised them "in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit."

Dripping wet, Corporal Keith Arguelles beamed after his baptism.

"I just wanted to make sure I did this before I headed into the fight," he said on the military base not far from the city of Fallujah.

I have not posted on this board in a while, I have had a hard time dealing with not being able to have contact but 1 - 2 times a month with my fiance.

He is in Iraq, is special forces, called out of retirement over a year ago, and he is so deep that he is not allowed much contact at all - and he had to fight for what little we do have.

I can tell when we talk, this war is really getting to his spirit, especially when he sees one of his men killed in the line of duty. He prays daily, but being there for as long as he has been, and not getting to have regular contact like most, it is really wearing his spirit down.

Since this new uprising and battle has begun, I have not heard any word on his safety. I believe God is watching over him, that his angels are protecting him, and we will be reunited when God feels he is no longer needed in the war.

I still have days that are so hard to get through, I worry for his safety, and his spiritual well-being. He is the strongest person I know, he has such a relationship with God, and he has worked for the Lord in so many ways for many years, but I feel he needs prayer now for himself. He tells me all the time he is praying for me and for his men, but he never ask for prayer for himself.

My heart goes out to the men & women there, as well as to their loved ones waiting here. It is such a difficult trial to get through, especially when the only way of knowing what is going on is by watching the terrifying pictures and reports on the news, or online.

Please, please, pray with me for these brave soldiers who are sacrificing so much in this war. Help me pray not only for their safety, but for their minds, and their spirits. We know not the things they see or feel each day, but we can help by taking just a few minutes out of our day to pray for these warriors.

Almighty and Glorious Father I come to you in the name of Jesus and through the blood of Jesus I pray to you, please send down your angels to form a mighty hedge of protection around these brave souls in Iraq Lord.

Father rain down the warmth of your touch on their heads father, fill them with your power, bless them by uplifting their spirits Lord, and healing their minds from the horrors they must face Lord.

Father, I stand in the gap for the people who are fighting actively in Fallujah, I thank You Lord that You have worked so many miracles of protection and guidence for these men and women during the battle. Thank You!

I stand also for the people who live in Fallujah legitimately and who are innocent of terrorist acts, protect them and let them run to the safety of the Troops coming into there town. Calm their fears of the C0lition forces and cause them to co-operate so that the Troops do not appear as or turn into a form of counter-terrorists striking even more fear into the innocent.

Father, I ask for your protection to cover them....Keep them safely under your wings. TROOPS CONTINUE TO RELY ON FAITH FOR STRENGTH
As American troops continue to advance on insurgent strongholds in Iraq, chaplains and their staffs are providing the spiritual support they need as the intensity of the battles heightens.
Captain Jonathan Fowler met with the troops of his battalion earlier this week as they prepared to make their next moves in the quest to secure the city of Fallujah. While commanders conferred, moving swiftly in and out of a temporary command post, the chaplain quoted from Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Fowler reminded the troops that the Apostle Paul wrote these words while dealing with the difficult circumstances of imprisonment—circumstances not all that different from the hardship they were currently dealing with. Ignoring blasts sounding out in the street, Fowler spoke with eyes closed and his right hand raised, beseeching the Lord for success. TROOPS UPDATE
....Please pray. Ed has been hit and is receiving treatment. All we know now is that he has lost his left leg, but is alive. Please pray for him and his wife and two children, a girl, 13 and boy, 11. This happened yesterday. Thank you....
We appreciate all prayers for Joey as he is in harm's way. He just moved from one location to another and says the weather is lousy there. He is a hardy one, taking all in stride, a great soldier. ....Our oldest son, almost 21, has been activated for two years for deployment to Iraq. He's a Military Policeman in the Guard, so we knew this was coming. We pray family members will be able to see him during the extended holiday season, as his unit is restricted to their home state from now on....
Dwight is stationed in a combat zone, has been deployed since January of 2003. He is due to come home January or February 2004. He is going through a pretty rough time as the holidays approach, and the depression starts to set in, as he wants to be home with his family, but he has remained strong, and seems to be trying very hard to keep his spirits up.

Lord I ask that you would give wisdom to our commanders, and courage to our soldiers in the face of danger. Help them to do their duty in a way that would honor You. Lord we know that the battle is not won by might, but by Your hand. May our troops be led by Your spirit and may Your hand of victory go before them. I pray in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

This is a letter from Ray Reynolds, a medic in the Iowa Army National Guard, serving in Iraq:
As I head off to Baghdad for the final weeks of my stay in Iraq, I wanted to say thanks to all of you who did not believe the media. They have done a very poor job of covering everything that has happened. I am sorry that I have not been able to visit all of you during my two week leave back home. And just so you can rest at night knowing something is happening in Iraq that is noteworthy, I thought I would pass this on to you. This is the list of things that has happened in Iraq recently:

* Over 400,000 kids have up-to-date immunizations.
* School attendance is up 80% from levels before the war.
* Over 1,500 schools have been renovated and rid of the weapons stored there so education can occur.
* The port of Uhm Qasar was renovated so grain can be off-loaded from ships faster.
* The country had its first 2 billion barrel export of oil in August.
* Over 4.5 million people have clean drinking water for the first time ever in Iraq.
* The country now receives 2 times the electrical power it did before the war.
* 100% of the hospitals are open and fully staffed, compared to 35% before the war.
* Elections are taking place in every major city, and city councils are in place.
* Sewer and water lines are installed in every major city.
* Over 60,000 police are patrolling the streets.
* Over 100,000 Iraqi civil defense police are securing the country.
* Over 80,000 Iraqi soldiers are patrolling the streets side by side with US soldiers.
* Over 400,000 people have telephones for the first time ever.
* Students are taught field sanitation and hand washing techniques to prevent the spread of germs.
* An interim constitution has been signed.
* Girls are allowed to attend school.
* Textbooks that don't mention Saddam are in the schools for the first time in 30 years.
Don't believe for one second that these people do not want us there. I have met many, many people from Iraq that want us there, and in a bad way. They say they will never see the freedoms we talk about but they hope their children will. We are doing a good job in Iraq and I challenge anyone, anywhere to dispute me on these facts....If you are like me and very disgusted with how this period of rebuilding has been portrayed, email this to a friend and let them know there are good things happening.

He tells me all the time he is praying for me and for his men, but he never ask for prayer for himself.

My heart goes out to the men & women there, as well as to their loved ones waiting here. It is such a difficult trial to get through, especially when the only way of knowing what is going on is by watching the terrifying pictures and reports on the news, or online.

Please, please, pray with me for these brave soldiers who are sacrificing so much in this war. Help me pray not only for their safety, but for their minds, and their spirits. We know not the things they see or feel each day, but we can help by taking just a few minutes out of our day to pray for these warriors.



Almighty and Glorious Father I come to you in the name of Jesus and through the blood of Jesus I pray to you, please send down your angels to form a mighty hedge of protection around these brave souls in Iraq Lord.

Father rain down the warmth of your touch on their heads father, fill them with your power, bless them by uplifting their spirits Lord, and healing their minds from the horrors they must face Lord.

Magnificent Lord you know the souls that are feeling weary and need to turn to you for strength, hold them safely in your hand Lord, lend them the strength they need to make it through each day Lord finding themselves alert, full of energy, and safely protected by your astounding power and grace.

I bow before you Lord, I praise you with my last breath, for you and only you are worthy of our praise Father. I beseach thee glorious Father, allow their journey to come to a victorious end in Godspeed Lord, and return each and every man and woman, who courageously fight this war to end terror for not only our country but theirs Lord, safely into the waiting arms of their loved ones at home.

I humbly ask Father, bless each of these warriors, bring them closer to you Lord, and bless each of the loved ones waiting for them at home Lord. Bless these souls in ways they never thought imaginable Lord, show your mercy and your omnipotence blessed Father. Rain down on us Lord. Fill us with the awe of you.

Thank you Father, for I know that my prayer, our prayers have reached your glorious presence, and it has been done. Father, bring peace to Iraq and Afghanistan. Please stop the threats of nuclear terrorism from Iran. Father, protect the Warriors who are fighting the war their country sent them to fight and Lord bring an end to terror, murder, abduction and fear. Lord God, we seek deliverance from evil for our Military members. Lord, raise them up as giants in the land, with the faith strength of David! Let them be honorable and courageous and devoted to you. Lord, keep their physical bodies safe from harm, give them angels to go before them and protect them. Let even those who do not know you yet, see you and recognize your hand of mercy and protection in their midst.
Father, let the Word of God go forth throughout Iraq and all the middle east. We ask that you will "visit" them all and show them your mercy and your grace. Let remind us when and what to pray and in those times when we are not actively praying we ask that Your Holy Spirit residing in us will pray for them all, 24/7 . Let all the prayers we have prayed for them begin to act like atoms splitting over and over again, and the prayers are compounded and multiplied exponentially from this day forward until Jesus comes to get us. Bless them with continued courage, strength and comfort being so far from home in perilous situations. Surround them with the power of thy Holy Angles to protect them and keep them from harm of any kind. Lord, I speak Health and Healing to those who have infections, injuries, trauma, or any other health related issue including schrapnel wounds, wounds from firearms or any other injury. Lord God, we pray that you will kill the bacteria, and cause these nobel men and women to be totally healed. To be raised up in full and total health. Lord God, I speak death and destruction upon this bacteria, and I bind and rebuke the power of Satan to destroy or injure any one who serves in the Military or supports them or is an innocent victim. Bacterium infecting troops from Iraq, Afghanistan

SAN ANTONIO- Government health officials are urging stronger infection control procedures in military hospitals following a number of infections among troops wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The bacterium Acinetobacter baumannii, which is resistant to most antibiotic drugs, could be infecting troops on the battlefield and ending up in field hospitals along with casualties from conflicts in the Middle East, a doctor says. The infection's spread in hospitals prompted health officials to stress better infection control methods.

Dr. David Dooley, director of infection control at Brooke Army Medical Center, and several other military physicians wrote on the growing number of such infections in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, a scientific journal published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The report listed 102 cases of patients at military medical facilities who developed serious A. baumannii infections, later spreading to the bloodstream. Most are at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany or Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington.

"They are not as aggressive as some of the other infections we see," Dooley told the San Antonio Express-News in Wednesday's editions. "But it is a dangerous bug because it is unusually resistant to the antibiotics we commonly use."

Such bacteria can trigger wound infections as well as systemic infections that include pneumonia.

Five wounded GIs at BAMC in San Antonio have contracted the bacterium, which exists in soil and water in certain parts of the world and can live on the skin for several days.

Of the total cases, 85 involved GIs wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Father, with the Iraqi elections coming up in January it is a dangerous time for every living thing in Iraq! I stand in the gap for the Troops and the innocents who live in Iraq! I stand between them and the enemy destroyer. I stand against the evil, terror and hate that broods in the hearts of a few people. I stand againts the division that this election seems to be harboring. I stand against the man You have not chosen for the position of President in Iraq! I do not know who he is yet but I know You have chosen one and I ask protection over this man and his supporters. Protection over his Family and Friends and Staff. Protect him and cause the enemy to reveal himself so that all can see the evil that drives the man You have not chosen. Lord I pray for the Salvations of the men who are running in this election!
