Are you for Bush or Kerry? Stand and Fight!

It's awesome to see the colorful descriptions of different people for or against the two political opponents. Some say they would never vote for one because of they aren'tgetting anything from them..... benefits or help. Some say the other and that they have inside information to prove it! Well to all you who say they have the stuff that will tip the scales but not share it! Bunk! If you have the goods let it out! Stop falling behind your walls of insanity and clarify your thoughts. Put them up on the screen! Are you scared that your secret proof won't stand the test? Are you fearful that your carefully and articulate fact finding mission will come up short? Let us reason with one another!!!!!

Interesting thoughts! Bush looked really strong last nights and so did Kerry! Bush always gave John Kerry the respect and attention as he spoke! Kerry was buried in his own thoughts when Bush was talking by continually writing and it showed when he left the main topic or question and get off on several other things. I heard alot of I's from Kerry! Did you? Interesting that Bush always motioned to Kerry when he was talking with the audience about his apponnent he gestured respectively, Kerry made several gestures that seemed to me a lack of respect! Did you see that?

Tort reform! Bush said yes and so did Kerry! Question was raised about Edward's. People! If Edwards wants to prove this message about Tort reform then let Edwards and Kerry lead with their mouths and give back the money they recieved from these big liability suits. Don't you think this would be a real winner for them? Just a thought!

Axis of Evil! Do you agree? I do! I can't wait to see how it is handled in the next 4-years. It's unfortunate that in politics that we as Americans havet to be so guarded about many things because of elections? For all those against the war on Iraq! Maybe it would have helped if Saddam was at your door kicking it in and taking your children and killing your friends and torturing your mom and dad. Did that help? Oh but you say that would it will never happen here? It already has! Flight 800, 9/11, Hate speech 5 years in prison in Canada! Shame on the Canadian government for not being able to define truth and lies, black and white! It's black and white! What makes you think that because they do it over there that it won't come here! Search and destroy these people. If it comes to the tactics that were used in WW2 then find all these people and send them packing! That's right! Send them Home! I don't want their silent but conceeded religion over here! I don't want a young man showing up at my church with a Turban and yell in Mohammed's language and blow up my friends and family!

Remember flight 800 that blew up off of New York! Over 400 eyewittnesses say that plane was brought down by a rocket! A terrorist! A crazy wack religious zealot who hides himself in the guise of truth but on the inside is filled with hatred. This is well documented! This was the blazingly terrorist attack. You've probably all have read that it was a fuel tank explosion. Any thoughts?

Our Troops! I'm not a veteran but if asked if would I take up arms and go and fight! I'd say yes! My family would! My mom and dad were in the Airforce! But that doesn't make me patriotic. Reading History and realizing that for us to have our Freedom cost us dearly. The blood that was shed for this is more than enough for me to drop my earthly ambitions and to take up arms and defend the Land of Beauty! We do not keep this land by being friends with the EU and the international community! We do not keep this land by appointing ungodly judges! We do not keep this land free by not exposing to light the wrong and sitting on it! We keep this great land by fighting! Read the Constitution. It's our duty as Americans to define and redefine what freedom is! The world needs it and will continue to need it as long as people are people and there is money and power.

Those who fail to study history will be doomed to repeat it!

The Blood is enough! Shame on you who be-little the support of our troops overseas! Shame on our media for being the modern day 60's and 70's news agency of shame. Shame on us for thinking from what weve heard that our President and staff do not have our best interests in mind. We are not the experts. They are and we should give them that place out of respect and honor. Get out of the way and let them do their jobs!

Need we be reminded about what Kerry did? He stood before Congress and lied to the Americans for his own political gain about our troops and what they were doing over there. Don't think he won't do it again. His record has proved he cannot be trusted!

NO man get's left behind! If it was your son who was over there and heard the stuff on the T.v.'s. I don't have a son and I say let freedom rise up and shake itself from the grips of death! No greater love have a man than to lay down his life for his friends! Has not America proved this message? Yes our forefather have and so should we! Let not there blood fade in infamy!

America has proved this message! Our commander and chief has proved this message! His staff have proved this message! Our veterans have proved this message! Our children need to hear and see this message! Let us pray! For if we don't the same will happen to us as did the Israelites and the Gibeonites in the Bible and we will loose this land. We will make unhealthy decisions that our children will pay for and the America that once was will be no more! We the people need to stand up and with one voice and vote with our heart.

America strong and brave though weathered and torn.. Be a beacon of light and hope for us today!

Things to point out....The stemcell garbage that Kerry is advocating is to create life, destroy life, then use the cells from the dead child to replace parts in someone who is already living? Is this where we want to go? Can you imagine God condoning this? The Bible is truth, and if the plan is in direct opposition to it...this is not Christian in nature. The Bible tells us to beware of Wolves who come to us in sheeps clothing. Don't be fooled. Be discerning.

NEWS BRIEFS (http://headlines.agapepress********.../10/112004h.asp)
...Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry spent another Sunday morning campaigning from the pulpit of a black church. The pastor of Miami's Friendship Missionary Baptist Church referred to his guest as "President Kerry" and praised the senator's grasp of Scripture. Rev. Gaston Smith said it will be "good to have somebody in the Oval Office who can have a little talk with Jesus." Others addressing the congregation included Jesse Jackson, who led the congregation in a chant about voting for John Kerry; and former Democratic Congresswoman Carrie Meek, who said Kerry is "fighting against liars and demons" as he takes on President Bush. Kerry also attended a Sunday Mass with Haitian Catholics.

...Concern over whether churches can pray for a George W. Bush victory in the upcoming presidential election has a Capitol Hill religious activist seeking an explanation from the Internal Revenue Service. On behalf of concerned churches across the nation, Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, in conjunction with the American Center for Law & Justice, is attempting to find out what kind of restrictions churches can expect from the IRS. "[We] sent a letter to the IRS seeking clarification on this issue because many pastors are concerned [if praying for a Bush victory] would impact their 501(c)3," the activist explains. "It would be very troubling if the IRS were to step in and tell churches how they are to pray." Mahoney contends if the federal government were to prohibit churches from praying for Bush to be elected, for example, it would send a "sharp message that the hand of government is reaching into churches and censoring even how we can pray." Mahoney expects a reply from the IRS in about ten days.
How dare someone even think about telling someone else who or what they should pray about. We must pray...We must stand for Righteousness! If not us....Then WHO? These pawns of Satan will destroy this land and our children if we do not fight these powers of darkness....Pray Christians, Pray with every ounce of strength you have.

Father, in the Name of Jesus, we take authority over these acts of Satan and demand they cease. We command them to leave this Nation, and go to whereever Jesus tells them too. We Loose the praying power of the Saints around the World to awaken and Pray. We Loose all prayers that are spoken according to God's Word, to Multiply exponentially. WE ARE the Victors. We stand now and fight. We enter into the battle, and in the midst of the darkness we stand covered in the blood of Jesus, and we Praise our Lord God, and the Glory of the Lord shone round about us, as in the days the Angels came to proclaim the birth of Jesus. The power of the Lord will cause the darkness to depart....We are the Victors! Praise the Lord! THank you Jesus....Amen

News just out....We must consider "why" we are voting for someone....Do the majority of the things they support come in line with what the Word of God says? If it does not then why would we vote for them?
The following article is from Agape Press. I thought you all should know.

Kerry Campaign Keeping Quiet on Obscenity Issue
Decency Advocate Suspects Payoff in Support from Sleaze Merchants
By Bill Fancher and Jenni Parker
October 12, 2004

(AgapePress) - The adult entertainment industry and pornographers have endorsed John Kerry as their candidate for the presidency, and one pro-family advocate has gone to some lengths to find out why.

Bob Peters, president of the organization Morality in Media (MIM), has undertaken the task of researching the presidential candidates to determine where each stands on the issue of indecency. He says he was inspired in part by an ad, from which he learned that "the so-called adult entertainment industry is supporting the Kerry campaign, and trying to get their customers to go out and vote for Kerry."

Intrigued by this information, Peters searched John Kerry's website for a position paper or statement relating to decency standards. He notes, "There weren't any documents with the word obscenity in them. One document included the word pornography, but it happened to be a document that was blasting President Bush because he had appointed a judge to the federal courts who was against pornography."

On the other hand, President George W. Bush's campaign has been fairly vocal on the issue, Peters points out. On Bush's website, he says he found several papers that detail a strong anti-pornography platform. And although he admits Bush's record on obscenity law enforcement has been mixed, the head of MIM notes that the past two years have seen numerous prosecutions throughout the U.S. against commercial distributors of hard-core porn, and many sources report that several more obscenity investigations are under way.

What concerns Peters, however, is the question of what John Kerry is likely to do about enforcing obscenity laws if he is elected. Last week the morality advocate voiced some of his concerns in a response to an article in the October 5 New York Times, "Strip Club's Cover Charge Is Voter Registration Card," which described the "political activism" of the adult entertainment industry on Kerry's behalf.

In his commentary, Peters said he wonders whether Kerry, if elected would "continue the progress (however slow) that has been made in the war against obscenity" or would instead "fulfill the expectations of the pornography industry that seems convinced that he, like Bill Clinton, will be soft on obscenity?"

It appears Kerry has chosen not to take a strong stance against the porn industry or obscenity in the media and entertainment, and MIM's president suspects Kerry's move to distance himself from the issue may in some ways be paying off for the Democratic candidate.

"For whatever reasons, at least to date, [Kerry's] campaign has chosen to remain silent on the subject of federal obscenity law enforcement," Peters says. "I think that certainly is at least helping to fuel the effort, that the adult entertainment industry -- i.e., the strip joints and the hard-core pornographers -- are out there trying to get people to vote for him."

For the past few months Morality in Media has been asking its members to write both presidential candidates, asking each to make his position clear on enforcement of federal obscenity laws.

The Drudgereport has just broken a new story. It seems they have a copy of the Dem/NPL Manual...in it it states the process to claim voter Intimidation on the part of the Republicans. It gives the list of steps to take and what to do. We know they have a group that do as they are told because after every debate the orders came down to vote at all the online polls and write letters etc. Pay attention America....stronghand methods are in the works...and what will happen if they actually get the Presidency? God help us...it is about Character and righteousness....not about the promises (even when they look you in the eye)that will not happen.
If you would like to read or see this, here is the address.

Fantastic! If that's who God is telling you to vote for, then you must do his will for you. Sometimes, around elections, people try to divide Republican vs. Democrat as Christian versus Non-Christian, and it's just not a true reflection of either party. Vote your heart, and you can't go wrong.

These are the real heros in America. For the production of the Stolen Honor documentary, interviews were conducted with 17 Vietnam POWs whose time in prison amounted to 109 years and three months.  These distinguished, highly decorated individuals share their experiences and perspective in this compelling program. They have 2 Medals of Honor, 25 Silver Stars, 28 Bronze Stars and many more. These men all say they were tortured because of what Senator John Kerry did after he came back from Vietnam. They all say Senator John Kerry if unfit for command. They say men died because he lied about what happened in Vietnam. They say The Vietnamiese toutured them while shouting the words of Kerry. They say John Kerry is a traitor.>>>>>>

What he wants now is to stop John Kerry from being elected President.

For more than five years, Day resisted the North Vietnamese guards who tortured him. On one occasion in 1971, when guards burst in with rifles as some of the American prisoners gathered for a forbidden religious service, Major Day stood up, looked down the muzzles of the guns, and began to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." The other men, including James Stockdale, the ranking U.S. officer in the prison, joined him

Retired Lt. Ralph E. Gaither, U.S. Air Force veteran and author of With God in a POW Camp, spent more than seven years as a POW. He reports in the documentary that Kerry's antiwar action proved deadly to his colleagues:

We didn’t realize how powerful the movement was until toward the end of the war. I dedicated the book I wrote to John Frederick – he died 6 months before we came home. John would probably have been alive had the antiwar movement not been doing what they were doing. The Vietnamese grew great relish in the movement in support for their cause. I’m convinced that they held on to the war until after Nixon was reelected. They felt Nixon would not be re-elected, that the antiwar movement would be strong enough to get him out of office.

The first knowledge of John Kerry, really, that I can recall now was after we came back, he had made apparently some statements that essentially said that all the Americans over there were war criminals and committed atrocious acts. I had a big problem with that, not so much for me...but thousands of guys who died had no chance to hold their own against Kerry. So essentially he desecrated all the war dead and their families, with no chance of them ever replying.

Air Force Veteran Retired Lt. Colonel Thomas S. Pyle echoed Thorsness:

It’s come out since the war, you read what the Vietnamese have said about the war, what they’ve written about the war, their strategy was they recognized that they could not win the war militarily. The only way they could win the war was to destroy the will of the American people to support the war. And that was the strategy all along. They knew they would have to suffer horrendous losses to be able to do that and they were willing to do it, that was part of their plan up front.

Pyle earned two Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, the Legion of Merit, Air Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. He spent six-and-a-half years in the Hanoi Hilton.

Retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Robinson Risner, who fought in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, won two Air Force Crosses, Distinguished Service Medal, two Silver Stars, three Distinguished Flying Crosses, the Bronze Star and eight Air Medals. Risner remembers how the anti-American demonstrators gladdened his captors' hearts during his seven years, four months as a POW in Vietnam:

I was in pain a lot of the time. I was being treated inhumanely… I know we had more than one person come to Vietnam, who the Vietnamese told me [were helping them win] the war in the streets of America. I certainly didn’t approve of that. I didn’t think it was right for an American to come over and bolster the Vietnamese morale.

The Swift Vets have used much of the same information and footage from Kerry’s testimony in their television advertisements against the Democratic presidential nominee, which seem to be having a significant impact on Kerry’s campaign. On Aug. 26, Noelle Straub reported in the Boston Herald, “although Kerry has stayed roughly even in national polls, his support among veterans -- a significant voting bloc -- has dropped significantly since the group launched its first ad.”

While there is no official connection between “Stolen Honor” and the Swift Vets, former Vietnam POW Paul Galianti, who spent seven years in the Hanoi Hilton, has participated in both projects. He is seen in the Swift Vets second advertisement, stating, “John Kerry gave the enemy for free what I and many of my comrades in North Vietnam, in the prison camps, took torture to avoid saying.”

Galianti was held in the same prison camp as Arizona Senator John McCain. Carl Limbacher at Newsmax.com reported on Aug. 5, 2004, that although McCain has criticized the Swift Boat Vets recently, he himself spoke out against John Kerry and other antiwar protestors in a 1973 US News and World Report article.

In a piece he wrote for the May 14, 1973, issue of U.S. News & World Report, the POW-turned-senator charged that testimony by Kerry and others before J. William Fulbright's Senate Foreign Relations Committee was "the most effective propaganda [my North Vietnamese captors] had to use against us…

“All through this period,” McCain told U.S. News, his captors were “bombarding us with anti-war quotes from people in high places back in Washington. This was the most effective propaganda they had to use against us.”

Retired Colonel Leo K. Thorsness -- a Vietnam Air Force veteran and recipient of the Medal of Honor, Silver Star, six Distinguished Flying Crosses, 10 Air Medals, two Purple Hearts and the Good Conduct Medal -- spent five years and 19 days as a POW. In “Stolen Honor” he reports:

A measure of patriotism is his loyalty to those still in uniform. That’s totally contrary to what he did. That makes him totally unpatriotic or loyal. He was over there fighting, he came home and there were still people he knew over there fighting, and he starts talking about war crimes and the atrocities we’re committing. He’s putting them in dire jeopardy. Every military combat guy I’ve talked to from Vietnam said their greatest fear was not being killed; it was becoming a POW. As you know, there were people captured in South Vietnam who were literally skinned alive…And Kerry’s giving the captors ammunition to treat people like that if they’re captured. And these are people he knew. Where in the world is his loyalty to the people in the military?

Thorsness says Kerry's actions caused them to be imprisoned -- and tortured -- longer than they would otherwise have been. He also mentions the (successful) North Vietnamese strategy to drag out the war in hopes that the antiwar movement would cause America to defeat itself:

Without question, we were held captives longer, because of the antiwar people, from the Kerrys to Fonda and Hayden...They encouraged the enemy to hang on. And the enemy would have hung on to us forever had not a man by the name of Richard Nixon gone in there with B-52s in December of 1972 and said enough is enough. They understood force, but they were experts at the PR.

Retired Captain James H. Warner -- a Marine who was held in North Vietnam for five years, five months -- is a recipient of the Legion of Merit, two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, 11 Air Medals and the Navy Commendation Medal.[1] Warner gives some of the most powerful testimony of how John Kerry’s words were used against POWs in “Stolen Honor:”

In the Spring of 1971, I was taken with 35 others to a camp outside of Hanoi. All of us were put in solitary confinement, and we were told this was a camp for punishment guys who were misbehaving. From the moment we were on the ground we were constantly fed propaganda, and the propaganda from home was always about the antiwar movement. After we had talked for quite some time, the interrogator showed me a transcript of testimony that my mother had given at something called the Winter Soldier hearings. I had no idea what these were. I read her testimony and it wasn’t damning, but then I saw some of the other stuff that had gone on at this Winter Soldier hearing, I wondered how did somebody get my mother persuaded to appear at something like this.

Shortly thereafter he showed me some statements from John Kerry. He said that John Kerry had helped organize the Winter Soldier hearings because he was so motivated because he had been an American officer, served in the U.S. Navy. And then he started reading some of the statements that John Kerry had made. I’m sorry I can’t quote them, but essentially he accused all of us in Vietnam of being criminals, that everything we had done was criminal. The North Vietnamese had told us from the time that we got their hands on us that we were criminals, that we were not covered by the Geneva Convention, so It was okay for them to do whatever they wanted to do to us. And they told us that they were going to put us on trial and some of us would be executed.

One of the things I remember being told that Kerry had said was that he demanded an immediate unilateral withdrawl of U.S. troops from Vietnam. Well, the only reason they were keeping us alive at all was to use as a bargaining chip to get U.S. troops out of Vietnam. It looked as though there’s rising pressure in the States for this [and] if the government gave in to that pressure and unilaterally withdrew the troops, what would be the purpose in keeping us alive? They would have executed us.

The interrogator went through all of these statements from John Kerry. He starts pounding on the table see, “Here, this naval officer, he admits that you are a criminal, and you deserve punishment”...I dind’t know what was going to come next. And for the rest of the time that we were in that camp I was very ill at ease...

[John Kerry] abandoned his comrades. He burned up his “Band of Brothers” membership card when he did that.

A decorated war hero, Johnson was awarded two Silver Stars, two Legions of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, one Bronze Star with Valor, two Purple Hearts, four Air Medals, and three Outstanding Unit Awards.

Johnson said: "They played Jan Fonda's speech to the guys on the front line, where she talked through a loudspeaker and told them to lay down their arms and quit fighting," he recalled. "And John Kerry was part of that anti-war movement."

"He was a Jane Fonda type, if you will," added Johnson, who referred to Kerry on the House floor last month as "Hanoi John." "That's what most of the POWs refer to him as," he explained.

"[Kerry] let the veterans down. When you're in a war you don't go out there badmouthing your fellow soldiers," he noted, referring to Kerry's 1971 speech. "You know, that's a disservice to the veterans."

"Anybody who comes back and works against the best interests of the United States, in my view, doesn't deserve to be president of the United States," the former fighter ace said.

This just out from AGAPE PRESS

Quote:
...According to Gary Bauer of Campaign for Working Families, Senator and Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry has managed to win the trust and support of one religious group -- Muslims. According to Bauer, virtually every major national Islamic group in the United States has endorsed the Kerry ticket, and now even Muslim leaders abroad are joining the Kerry "bandwagon." He says the prime minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, even sent an open letter to American Muslims urging them to vote for John Kerry and asserting that President Bush "is the cause of the tragedies in Afghanistan, Palestine, and Iraq," while voting for Kerry would be an "ibadah" -- an act of religious devotion and worship. But Bauer says Dr. Mohamad is "a notorious anti-Semite and all around thug" who "thinks Afghanistan was a good place when the Taliban were in control." Also, the U.S. conservative pundit says, Mohamad preferred Iraq under Saddam Hussein's rule and sees Yassir Arafat as "the hope of the Palestinians." Bauer feels it is significant that the Malaysian leader has chosen Kerry as "his man and suggests it might be worth asking, "why a notorious 'hate America' demagogue like Mohamad thinks it is a religious duty for Muslims to vote for Kerry."

Right now I just want to say something about stemcell research... the same sort of cells can be collected

from the stem cells of umbilical cords of BIRTHED babies. There would be no cause for embryo research to kill life.

Pray that those in power may be showed this... this would end SOOOOOOO much controversy.

Subject: 17% MEDICARE INCREASE

Have you seen the John Kerry commercial in which George Bush pledges to
help Seniors on Medicare and "the very next day imposes a 17% premium
increase - the biggest in history"? That ad is a stroke of genius on
Kerry's part and will surely gain him many votes among the uninformed.

As it turns out the 17% increase was not imposed by President Bush but was
mandated
by the "balanced budget agreement" signed by President Clinton, voted
into law by Senator John Kerry, and was scheduled to come into effect
during the Bush administration. President Bush had no authority to reverse
what had been voted into law by Senator Kerry during the Clinton
administration.

Once again Kerry is counting on the ignorance of the American
people. Don't be duped by his mendacity.

Fantastic! If that's who God is telling you to vote for, then you must do his will for you. Sometimes, around elections, people try to divide Republican vs. Democrat as Christian versus Non-Christian, and it's just not a true reflection of either party. Vote your heart, and you can't go wrong.

You CAN go wrong voting your heart. The heart is desparately wicked, who can know it? Just as John Kerry is desparately wicked!

Everyone says that the Democrats are the ones who help the less privledged. But I was no better off under Clinton (probably worse, because that's the first year I was told I owed taxes . On my income??? ) than under Bush. In fact, because I had a job that paid better (not due to Clinton, due to a rich boss), I couldn't qualify for any government hand outs. The only way to get any hand outs in this countlry is to be at poverty level, and who wants to be? I was just ABOVE poverty level, then, and could barely make it....

I did better in low income housing, making way less money, getting food stamps. This is WRONG! We should encourage people to get ahead, not to get "stuck" in the system! It's a catch 22, and we get dependent on these things and we just keep using these hand outs and we never better ouselves. Because there is no incentive to. That boils down to laziness, and God wants His children to be diligent.

Sorry, for preaching, because I'm preaching to the chior. I have used these programs, because i haven't known how to get ahead enough to break this enslavement.

Stolen Honor

In light of the recent notifications of "Stolen Honor," I want to ask each and everyone of you that honor that movie to watch the actual senate hearings that young John Kerry testified in. The ruling of the court honored his position, also. These were actual circumstances, and what Senator Kerry stated was accomplished very well. We should honor him for serving as he did for his country. Let us listen to our founding fathers, as Benjamin Franklin stated,
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
Don't vote blindly. Think for yourselves. Listen to your consciense that God has placed within your hearts.
Call me a Bleeding Heart Liberal if you may,

maybe Jesus was even a liberal.--Read On--

Wasn’t Jesus A Liberal? by Gary Vance

Liberalism has been under assault for years now. The battering of this grand political philosophy has altered the contemporary definition of liberal to the point that Conservatives use it as a profane word. They use it to paint a political opponent as anti-God and anti-American. It has gotten to the point that moderate and liberal Christians are afraid to be open about their political leanings. Sadly, it even affects their conscience and choices as they enter the voting booth. This is particularly troubling to me as a Christian evangelical minister who loves America.

Liberalism as defined by Webster’s Third New International Dictionary: “a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of man, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for tolerance and freedom for the individual from arbitrary authority in all spheres of life…”

I am not sure why anyone would feel threatened by Liberalism as defined by the dictionary. They are apparently unaware or simply refuse to acknowledge the long history of liberals who have labored for the betterment of society and the furthering of God’s Kingdom.

The labor movement of the early twentieth century was aided significantly when major Christian denominations got behind it. No average American would have a fair wage today if it weren’t for liberal Christians and labor activists. Liberal Christians and civil rights activists fought and still fight against conservative America for racial equality. Child labor laws were enacted because liberals fought for them. Medicare and Social Security exist today because of Liberalism. “Bleeding heart liberals” have long advocated for the homeless, the hungry, the less fortunate, and the disenfranchised. The women of America owe liberals a big thank you for their almost equal rights. “Tree hugging liberals” fight for clean air and water standards instead of favoring industrial polluters and short term profiteering that destroy God’s green earth.

Liberals believe in affordable health care for all U.S. citizens. They also believe in higher taxes for the rich and lower taxes for the middle class and the poor. Liberals love their spouses and children. Liberals faithfully attend their churches to worship God. Liberals love America and hate terrorism and have proved it by fighting in every war for this country. Liberals come in all shapes, sizes, and color. They are found in the ranks of Protestants, Catholics, Jews, agnostics, and atheists.

Conservative Republican policies generally favor the wealthy and ignore the needs of the poor. Their policies are so often greed-driven, with no concern for the environmental or societal consequences for their exploitive actions. Jesus plainly taught that the love of money is the root of all evil. So, Christians can go after the various “fruit” of sin in our society, but they won’t see the real change for the better until the axe is laid to the root. Christians should oppose greed-driven policies as a primary point of political concern.

I am sick of reading letters to the editor and editorials that paint Democrats and liberals as anti-God and anti-American and that portray conservative Republicans as the only true Christian patriots. We know that many Democrats are pro-choice and many support gay issues and this troubles most evangelicals. Democrats also support causes that should be of Christian concern that go untouched by Republicans. I have listed some in the above paragraphs. True prophetic vision sees that there is great need for repentance on the left and the right. The effects of powerful lobbyists, special interest groups, greed and corruption abound on both sides of the aisles of Congress. God sees it all and so should Christians. Christian voters need to see that God’s heart breaks over more than just a few political and moral issues. It is time to take off our blinders and mourn for the sorry state of affairs that is American politics.

Jesus was the ultimate liberal progressive revolutionary of all history. The conservative religious and social structure that He defied hated and crucified Him. They examined His life and did not like what they saw. He aligned Himself with the poor and the oppressed. He challenged the religious orthodoxy of His day. He advocated pacifism and loving our enemies. He liberated women and minorities from oppression. He healed on the Sabbath and forgave adulterers and prostitutes. He associated with drunks and other social outcasts. He rebuked the religious right of His day because they embraced the letter of the law instead of the Spirit. He loved sinners and called them to Himself. Jesus was the original Liberal. He was a progressive, and He was judged and hated for it. It was the self-righteous religionists that He rebuked and He called them hypocrites.

The primary issues of Christian Liberalism were birthed when Jesus spoke the profoundly prophetic words found in Matthew 25: 31-46. These scriptures reveal God’s heart for the poor, the sick and other neglected people through out history. Christians should read this text and judge for themselves which of the two groups mentioned there more accurately reflect the political parties of today. His Liberalism lives on today and the issues have not changed much.

I am glad that conservative Republican candidates advocate for the family and a few Christian issues, but we must quit pretending that they are the only ones that Christians should consider voting for. People should not call themselves pro-life if they are only anti-abortion and yet feel no twinge of conscience over the unfair application of capital punishment or wars fought for dubious motives. A true pro-life position cares just as passionately for the born as the un-born and views war as a last resort when all other options are exhausted.

Christians should look for candidates that will work for issues that are of importance to Christ and that can be tackled legislatively. Sadly, most of those causes have historically been opposed, ignored, and minimized by conservative Republican policy makers. They seem to dangle the moral issues carrot around election time. Then, even with a Republican controlled White House and Congress, prove themselves powerless to do anything about those issues when they convene to legislate. Issues such as eliminating poverty and homelessness in America, true equal rights for all citizens, environmental protection, a fair minimum wage, affordable health care, and lowering our infant mortality rate all go unattended. That’s just to name a few.

I have some questions for the Christian Right. Why have you not held our current elected majority officials accountable for their failure to address the full spectrum of Christian issues? Why would you vote for them again?

It is time for Christians of conscience to stand up to religious and political hypocrisy. Christians should proudly proclaim progressive values today and should advocate for the Christian Liberalism that is our heritage and our legacy.

I hear so many say that they are Christians but they are going to vote for a man who thinks it is okay to kill unborn children, stem cell research which makes a life only to destroy that life to save another life. I don't think God is going to stand for this to keep going on. How can a so called Christian do this? I am proud to know that President Bush stands with so many others when it comes to the unborn. What good does it do if we have money etc. if we are willing to sell our soul for it. I will continue to pray for President Bush in hopes that he wins again and that we have a man with morals to lead our nation. Everyone is thinking about their pocket books instead of about the most important thing that God gives us, the life of the unborn and our continued freedom. I love the saying, "God bless America."

[QUOTE=FriendOfGod]I'm for Kerry. He has compassion for the less fortunate. i.e. Healthcare, economy, jobs. I'm middle class.[/QUOTE

If you harm one child to save the life of another person what do you call that? I call it murder...I know that the blood of all those babies that are being killed every day is a stain on our nation. Thank God that He is merciful and forgiving. We better all pray that peoples eyes will be opened before it is too late....When we turn our backs on the unborn and claim to be a Christian, how can that be? So many are blind to the fact that God made these precious babies and no matter what you call it, when they are aborted that is killing God's children. How long do you honestly think that He will put up with that? You have to stand before God someday and I can say that I have never taken a life, be it a baby or adult. Compassion, Kerry has none. He cares about no one except he wants to become president, no matter how many lies he has to tell to get it. I have to answer to my heavenly Father for my sins. I don't want to add murder to that.....
