so that we might be saved..."

I think this has been repeated millions of times a week by so called "christians".

My question is simple. Tow WHOM did god make this sacrifice?

To himself? Who required this high price? Who was the recepient of the sacrifice and at whose request?

The death of Jesus was the payment demanded by Satan for the redemption of the souls of people.

I do not necessarily understand why God did not just remove Satan and start over.

I do know that He wanted us to have the right to come to Him of our own free will, He does not want compulsory and empty relationship from us.

He wants a Family Not captives.

He wants Children who are free to come to Him and have a conversation with Him (prayer).

He wants a Bride(the Church) for His Son.

He wants to Bless us as treasured Children not reluctant and truculent brats who come to Him only because they are forced.

Satan made the mistake of thinking he had God over a barrel because he asked for the death of God's Son as the Bride Price.

I do not expect you to understand or accept this, He is God, the Creator and Ruler of the Universe yet He was willing to allow His Son's earthly body to be killed in a brutal and excessive manner in order to pay the Bride Price.

The Son became flesh in order to pay the price, Jesus was willing to do whatever it cost to make a way for you and me and all mankind to approach the Father in purity and Mercy.

Jesus is the name of His humanity. Christ is the name of His Sovereignty and His Anointing.

He knew the price He had to pay and He paid it gladly.

Who was the sacrifice to?

It was the price paid to Satan for our purchase.

Was this imperfect?

No, it was the greatest act of Love that anyone can possibly imagine.

A Sovereign God willing to die for the creation.

I do not expect you to understand or accept this premise for it takes Faith and you have stated that you have no Faith.

Your lack of belief and Faith does not change the facts or my Faith.

God's Love for you exists, Jesus died to purchase your Salvation, Jesus rose again and ascended to the right hand of the Father as Heir and Lord of all that dwells on the earth.

The choice is yours to accept or spurn His Love, His Gift of Eternal Life and His provisions for your life here.

Choose wisely.

The sacrifice was to death. Jesus was sacrificed as an innocent person, taking on the burden of all sin of all men. Think of it as this: God loved his beloved Son. The Father wanted the best for His son but understood that all of humanity could be freed from death if His son were to be sacrificed to death in order that our sins be repayed. The payment of our sins is the blood of Jesus. Therefore, by trusting in Jesus and asking for forgiveness and life, Jesus has the control to give salvation to us. God loves us so much that he gave his only begotton Son to death so that we may be forgiven and so that we may be with Him forever. The Father loves us so much that He wants us forever. He also wants us to make that decision, the decision to center our lives on Him through His son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

I think it was ransom money.

Adam and Eve gave away the freedom God had given them and turned to another 'god'.

God had to buy them and everyone else back and the only thing that would purchase this was the blood of Jesus.

Jesus was willing, but Father God had to decide.

God's law was set up, and even God obeys his own law. Someone had to die. Someone without sin.

But I believe there is more to this.

I believe that God had already created angels. He created each one individually. They chose to have a civil war in heaven and Satan tried to overthrow God. What a joke! He didn't come anywhere near it. He is just an angel.

But I don't think God wanted to populate his home with anymore insurrectionists.

I think God decided to create a 'self-creating' people, who could reproduce themselves, and give them a chance to decide whether they were going to be on God's side or Satan's side BEFORE he gave them access to his heaven.

I think it is all a sorting process to keep the rebellious out of God's permanent home.

What do you think?

Another interesting approach to this:

In the gospel of John, Jesus was crucified at the same time the lambs were being sacrificed for passover (in the synoptic gospels, it occurred the day after passover).

In essence, this created the same kind of concept that Jesus was the lamb being led to slaughter, as in he was offered as a sin sacrifice, a payment for sins. "Eating of his flesh and drinking of his blood" would have then been an analogy to the passover meal (though blood drinking wasn't a part of it, but blood offering was).

Jesus was the lamb of God sacrificed for the payment of sins. By consuming of him (his spiritual body and blood) our sins are forgiven.

This is not correct.
Jesus did not have to die cause Satan demanded it.
Who is Satan? Do you think God has to obey Satan? lol.
God is righteous. Sin has to be covered by blood.
Jesus had to die to pay for our sins otherwise we would not have any atonement.

God did not MAKE Jesus be sacraficed. Jesus chose to. He sacraficed himself for us. We required this high price. We are the recepients and the request was not made but realized as being needed.

God created the universe and set into motion all the laws. God follows His rules. One of the laws He created was that the wages of sin is death. This is His written word and we can stand on it and we will also be judged by it.

Jesus offered us His own physical death, and shed His blood for all mankind as the payment for our sins. Satan did not require this of Him--God the Father required this when He set up the laws of the universe.

I agree with you Bruce, and you too Frederik ( with accent )

Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind. Because God is a righteous God and cannot break His own laws. (the wages of sin is death)

Since when did Jesus bow down to, or do deals with satan?
