I just watched a documentary on "Camel Racing" in the country of Arab Emeritus (not sure if I spelled this right). Anyway the story goes something like this. The wealthy sheiks and princes of this country raise expensive camels, some costing over $1,000.000 dollars each and feed them the best food available and even have huge hospitals and excercise gyms and swimming pools for them. Yes, the camels! Camel racing and betting is a big business.
The problem is a sad one, in that the jockeys are not grown men, but young boys bought for as little as $500. They are between the ages of 3 and 15 years old, and are not allowed to weigh over 50 pounds! Lighter jockeys--faster camels! The "trainers" of jockeys beat and molest the young boys, and feed them nothing but biscuits and water. They live in desert huts with no electricity and are forced to work long hard hours and sleep outdoors on the sand. Please pray for their freedom! For their safety! For their health! Please pray for their lives! Please pray that the Holy Spirit would show up and convict these evil ones of their wickedness and turn this situation around! Please pray that Christianity would permeate this Arab nation; that Christ would reveal Himself to them through the missionaries,! Please Pray!!!!! |
