Prayer for my House

Hey Guys,

Last year, my wife and I bought a house in Nashville, TN. It was our first home, and as first time home buyers, we were very ill-advised about how to proceed. The long and the short of it, we were raked over the coals. In the 1.5 years that I have been in hte house, I have had to fix, or need to fix
1. major termite damage, which caused me to have to replace 1 bathroom
2. termite infestation
3. serious plumbing problems (a lot of which is still going on)
4. improper ventillation for different areas in my house (no insulation under the house for when it gets really cold/wet, and too much upstairs, it gets so so very hot)
5. cracked ceilings (due to water damage)
6. a roof that needs to be completely replaced
7. a sagging floor in some areas
8. very stained and worn carpet.

Anyway, I have been able to have some things fixed, but more are not fixed than are. It's a disaster. Last night, I happened to be walking on my bed (which is very fun, by the way) and I noticed that the ceiling in my bedroom is starting to crack due to water damage. The crack in the room below it, the living room, is getting more noticable. One day, I feel that I may be watching TV, and then I will be wearing my bed! (haha)

Anyway, everyone tells me to sell it, to just get out from underneath it, and count my losses. I have definetely learned a lot of information about how to and how not to buy a house.

My dilemma is: I can not, in good conscience, sell it to anyone in this condition. I feel that I would have to lie to get someone to buy it, or persuade them heavily, and then they'd be stuck with even more problems as this 60 year old house decides it wants to decay further.

My wife and I really want to move to the country, but as of yet, we are unable to. I really would like for some financial miracle to happen, so I can pay this house off, and keep it as an "in town home" and office for my ministry, but also be able to live in the country. Being able to pay off the remainder of this debt, $89,000, and to be able to build out in the country, which my wife and I want to do, would allow me also to fix this house up (or to tear it down and build something brand new.)

I need prayer, and suggestions for what to do. I feel that I am at a crossroads. With the money I make, there is hardly anything left over for any type of repairs, or a new home.

Thanks

Jeremy

Lord, I thank you for the door of opportunity that you have opened in this family's life.

I ask you to give them wisdom and help them make this difficult decision based on what they know of you, Lord, and what they hear from your Word.

Please help them see that you have given them an excellent way to follow your most excellent way.

Lord, I pray that you will multiply this family and their ministry and build them up in you.

Thank you, Lord, for this family and their ministry to you.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Dear Friends,

Power grows under pressure. Have faith and do what God tells you to do.

Bless you and your house(s).

Rachel R

Dear Jeremy:

This is Pastor Jerry

It sounds like the plague was in the promise land before you got there.
Pray these verses and Ask the Lord to bring the right people along who want the house as it is. Or will fix it up so you can have your hearts desire

PSA 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day; [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, [which is] my refuge, [even] the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Hi Jeremy,

I know exactly how you feel and in the same boat as you. I purchased my first (hud) home on my own 8 years ago. It too is like the adams' family house and I call it the house of hell. I prayed and fasted for the Lord to provide me with the funds and people to repair my home. The first repair the bathroom. My supervisor recommended her step-dad. who made things worse. I bought materials and he charged me $800 for his fee. Well, he puchased the cheapest materials and now I have to replace the whole wall due to water damage and mold that will not go away. I landed up having to replace the whole pipes and showers and faucets again becuase the stepdad didn't do this but told me he did. I'm still waiting for God to provide the money and person to redo my bathroom the correct way. Next my backslidden brother lived with me for free and started repairs and installed my kitchen cabinets. However, to date nothing is complete and I had to kick my brother out because he's on crack. Next, I paid in full and upfront for my fence to be rebuilt by the youth leader. He has never came back and has lied to his wife and family and me about completing my fence. To date its still not done.

My house is worse now than when I started to repair it. And these were so called "christian" and "Godly" men that have left my house half done and worse off than before. The only repairs that are completed and works is the replacement windows and the laminated floors which I hired a licensed contractor to do. Everything else are still undone and doesn't work properly.

Well, these men ripped me off and then lied to others about their work on my home. My pastor's wife did nothing and now my trust in her is gone. I paid top dollar and trusted God but it was just a learning curve for me.

I had refinanced for the funds but that money is gone now. And, my house is undone. I can only hope for the best and hope the Lord will bring me honest reliable contractors that will do their best because they take pride and have integrity in their skills. I get better business with the worldly with no hassles. I chose the "godly" christians who turned out to have no integrity or skills but only are liars and thieves.

SO my advise to you -- pray for the Lord to make a way out. And get licensed contractors to do the work and get at least 3 recomendations for the licensed contractors. THe one's that did my windows and floor were recommended by people who had them work on their homes. I got more than my money's worth. Peace of mind and a warranty on all their work.

Just keep praying and just know in your heart the Lord will give you the grace you need at that moment...and He will provide and make a way for you to complete what He has brought you too. I still have no patience in this area but I figured the Lord is teaching me something..and well I pass some but fail a lot in this area but the fact that He is still around tells me He still loves me...and I know He will provide and make a way for this house to get done. Like I said, the Lord started the repairs on the inside cause the outside looks ugly still...Hang in there and be open to the Holy Spirit's leading. He brought you to it and will get you through it. And it really take patience and the Lord to "wait" for His timing.

Love and God bless,
stacey

Jeremy,

Trust Jesus to help you out. Ask Him for his assistance in prayer and Believe with your whole heart, soul and being that he will aid you. Seek Him out and He will provide for you.

Jesus, please bless this young family with the money to fix their home and if it isn't your Holy will then provide for them to a buyer of this home and locate them to a place that they wish to own. I ask this in your Holy Name...Amen
