Father God in the Name of the Jesus, by His blood, by His Word, by His Spirit, and by His faith, I pray that the people of the United States of America will ALL come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, that the people of this land will turn from darkness to light, from the power of satan to the power of God and that they will serve You alone.
I stand in the gap for the people of America, Father, and ask You to forgive us, LORD, for turning from You; forgive us, LORD, for bowing down to idols of wood and clay created from our hands; forgive us, LORD, for turning our backs against you and seeking our will rather than Your will; forgive us, LORD. Forgive us, O LORD, for forgetting our Christian roots and forsaking our Christian heritage. Forgive us, O God, for choosing the wide road which leads to destruction and not the narrow road that leads to life. Father, I pray for Your Spirit to be poured out on ALL flesh.
I bind, mute and cast away every demonic force, the demonic principalities, the powers, the world forces of this darkness, the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places that are in or around the American people and command them to loose these people and let them GO! I apply the blood of Jesus upon the United States of America, upon every American, upon every believer, upon our property and possessions, and pray hedges of protection upon the same. I dispatch God’s angels to guard and protect the same in the name of Jesus. In Jesus name, I say that their minds are UNBOUND, freed from the evil one, so that the light of the gospel may shine forth upon them. Let Your light shine forth, into their eyes of understanding. Restore their sight so they may see and know the true Light of the World. Grant America Your FAVOR, Father God. Do not lift Your hand of protection from us or take Your Holy Spirit away for there are still many, many righteous ones of Yours, LORD, who serve only You and have not bowed to Baal. Restore to Americans the joy of salvation that only comes through intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.
I pray, Father, that Your Church, Your Body, Your Bride, will have a passion for You, for Your manifest presence and glory, that they will be a people who seek Your face, who hunger and thirst for You above all else, who will pray continuously, who serve humbly, who walk in submission, not rebellion, who will seek FIRST the Kingdom of God, rather than the things of the world, who will seek Your will in ALL things and who will walk in love always, who will demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit, who will feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give water to the thirsty, who will set the captives free, who will heal the brokenhearted, who will heal the sick, who will raise the dead, who will cast out demons and will be Your light upon this earth.
I cancel every plan of satan for Your church, and bind, cast off and cast out every spirit of apathy, envy, division, depression, strife, anger, bitterness, fear, pride, addiction, illness and disease, idolatry, rage, murder, witchcraft, torment or ANY demonic spirit from Your chosen ones, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and by His blood.
We humble ourselves and we seek Your face today, we turn from our wicked ways and we thank You, Father, that You will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and heal our land. Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings [of darkness] take their stand and the rulers [of darkness] take counsel together against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, "Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us! But, You LORD Jesus, who sits in the heavens ….laughs! You, Lord, scoff at them. You will speak to them in Your anger and terrify them in Your fury, saying, "But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain." 'Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. 'You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.'" How blessed are all who take refuge in Him! The wicked will return to Sheol, even all the nations who forget God. For the needy will not always be forgotten, Nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever. Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You. Put them in fear, O Lord; Let the nations know that they are but men. We are your people, called by your name and we humble ourselves today and seek your face, we turn from our wicked ways and pray for you to hear from heaven, to forgive our sins and heal our land. O God, may your will be done on Election Day from the White House to the State House to every place elections are taking place. I speak hedges of protection and God’s angels to be placed around our country especially on election day, upon the places of voting, the people voting, upon the entire system of election that no wickedness takes place, in Jesus name. Convict the unrighteous and wicked, LORD, those who hate and despise you and your people. Give them dreams and visions of heaven or hell, give them heart transplants as they sleep, give them Damascus road experiences, overshadow them with the fire of God and the fear of the LORD.
Stir your people with your holy fire today, fill them with your Spirit, overshadow us with the fear of the LORD which is the beginning of wisdom. Do not let America slide any further into chaos and perversion and wickedness and lawlessness, O God. I speak forth righteousness and holiness over America today! I speak forth purity and resurrection of life! I speak forth that America’s destiny be fulfilled and exercised and accomplished this day in Jesus name! I call forth to life and salvation those who are called, who are elected and chosen before the foundation of the world to the Kingdom of God. I pray for America and Israel to remain continually spiritually and forever linked together as one for the divine purposes which God has ordained upon the earth.
I thank you God, that you have raised up and blessed America beyond measure, that you have called America for a divine purpose in the Kingdom of God, that you love America and her people. Forgive us, O God, as your church in America, for not taking a stand, for not praying as we ought, for not rising up against perversion and wickedness in this land, for not staying holy and pure and righteous ourselves, for allowing the world to influence us more than we have influenced it, for serving other things and people more than You, for hungering and thirsting after things and people more than You, for being apathetic and impotent and complacent, for dabbling in the occult, for being double minded, for hiding from wickedness instead of confronting it, for letting satan take the land instead of holding onto it and everything you have blessed us with. Forgive us, O LORD, as Christian Americans, have become fat, lazy, lukewarm, wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked!
O God, have mercy and us! We repent of our wicked ways and ask for power to overshadow us, to revive us, to fill us, to make us hungry and thirsty, to break our hearts with the things that break your heart, to surrender all of our lives totally to you. Your Word says in Revelation, “I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven! Refine us in your fire, O God! Give us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying! I speak forth Psalms 91 over us and over America: We will dwell in the shelter of the Most High and we will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. America will say of the LORD, "You are our refuge and our fortress, our God, in whom we trust. Surely You will save us from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. You will cover us with your feathers, and under Your wings we will find refuge; your faithfulness will be our shield and rampart. We will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at our side, ten thousand at our right hand, but it will not come near us. We will only observe with our eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. America WILL make the Most High our dwelling - even the LORD, who is our refuge - and no harm will befall us, no disaster will come near us. For He will command His angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways; they will lift us up in their hands, so that we will not strike our feet against a stone. We will tread upon the lion and the cobra; we will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because they love me," says the LORD, "I will rescue them; I will protect them, for they acknowledge my name. America will call upon me, and I will answer her; I will be with her in trouble, I will deliver her and honor her. With long life will I satisfy her and show her my salvation."
Our Father in heaven, holy is Your name; Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we also forgive those who’ve trespassed against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. We honor and praise and love you, LORD Jesus! We are forever grateful to you for every blessing, for salvation, for the cross, for the blood, for you are our ALL IN ALL! Maranatha and Amen and Amen.

"The Bible...is the one supreme source of revelation of the meaning of life, the nature of God and spiritual nature and needs of men. It is the only guide of life which really leads the spirit in the way of peace and salvation. America was born a Christian nation. America was born to exemplify that devotion to the elements of righteousness which are derived from the revelations of Holy Scripture."
Woodrow Wilson (1856-1924), 28th President of the United States 1913–1921
"Israel has been a trusted ally and friend to the U.S. for many years. I would go so far as to say one of the reasons that America has been blessed over the years is because we have stood by Israel as a friend and ally. I am a Christian who believes the entire Bible. I am also a proud American who loves my country, and desires the blessings of God upon our nation....We pray that God will bring revival to America, to the Jewish people and the nation of Israel, and revival to the Arab people living in the Bible Land. However, it cannot come if we compromise moral principals and the biblical values upon which our nation was built."
Mike Evans, February 20, 2003, Jerusalem Prayer Team
"Let us not trust in human effort alone, but humbly acknowledge the power and goodness of Almighty God who presides over the destiny of nations, and who has at all times been revealed in our country's history; let us invoke His aid and His blessings upon our labors."
Grover Cleveland (1837-1908), 22nd and 24th President of the United States 1885-1889, 1893–1897
"Providence has given our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as privilege and interest, of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."
John Jay (1745-1829), Fifth President of the Continental Congress; First Chief Justice of the Supreme Court
"We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government; upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."
James Madison (1751-1836), Known as the Father of the Constitution; Architect of the Bill of Rights; Fourth President of the United States 1809-1817 -- (Exodus 20:1-17; 34:28, Deuteronomy 4:13; 10:4) --"acknowledgement of the Judeo-Christian foundations of the U.S. system of government" http://www.family*****/cforum/judic...anny/faqs.cfm#1
"The Constitution was written in a society that valued religion. In fact, many of the Founding Fathers could not envision the world without Christianity. The Establishment Clause ("Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof") was not written to keep all acknowledgements of religion out of the government, but rather to limit the power of the federal government to create a national religion. At the time the Constitution was written, in fact, several states already had established government religions. The intent of the Establishment Clause was to allow states the right to choose their own religion."

"The fundamental basis of this nation's law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teaching we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul."
Harry Truman (1884-1972), President of the United States 1945-1953
"It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord."
Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), Sixteenth President of the United States 1861-1865; Issued Emancipation Proclamation (1863)
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance....Happy is that people, whose God is the LORD."
Psalm 33:12; 144:15 KJV
"Before all else, we seek, upon our common labor as a nation, the blessings of Almighty God."
Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969), Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Western Europe during World War II; 34th President of the United States 1953–1961
"Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants."
William Penn (1644–1718), English Quaker leader; Founder of Pennsylvania
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faith have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here."
Patrick Henry (1736-1799), Renowned Orator; Major figure of the American Revolution; Governor of Virginia 1776–79, 1784–86
"As a Christian and believer in the Abrahamic covenant, I'm a strong supporter of Israel and the Jewish people. I take Genesis 12:3 literally. I also believe that Jesus will return and rule the earth for one thousand years from Jerusalem -- a pre-millennial perspective on the second coming. I believe that God has a special plan for the Jewish people and the land of Israel. Human rights violations and violence occur on both sides of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. And all sinners, Jews included, need repentance and faith in Christ in order to enjoy full membership in God's covenant."
Chuck Colson, Prison Fellowship Founder (http://www.pfm*****/), February 18, 2003, "BreakPoint"
"...I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God."
Amos 9:14-15 KJV
"God says, I'll bless those who bless the Jewish people in Genesis 12:3 and I'll curse those who curse them. And as far as I'm concerned, the reason the United States of America is the most blessed place on the face of this earth is because we have been a great friend of Israel and have tapped into this spiritual law."
Sid Roth, a Jewish believer and the host of the Messianic Vision (a nationally syndicated radio, television, and publishing ministry)
"I believe with all my heart that standing up for America means standing up for the God who has so blessed our land. We need God's help to guide our nation through stormy seas. But we can't expect Him to protect America in a crisis if we just leave Him over on the shelf in our day-to-day living."
Ronald Reagan (1911-2004), 40th president of the United States 1981–8199
"...John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven....And...an angel come down from heaven...laid hold on...Satan, and bound him a thousand years....(John) saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."
Revelation 1:2; 20:1-2; 14:6-8 KJV
"...Jesus...said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows....This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
Matthew 24:4-8;14 KJV
"We must disabuse our friends of the notion that all religions and belief systems are basically the same. They’re not. If grace is at the heart of Christianity while obeying rules is at the heart of Islam, the two will produce radically different cultures. And this is exactly what has happened....Of course, we want all Americans to love our Muslim neighbors, but Christians ought to love them enough to want to lead them to a true religion of love....When Jesus told us to 'preach the Gospel to all nations,' He included Muslims. In the light of September 11, I believe, Muslims should be having doubts about their own religion and, perhaps, be open to the Gospel."
Chuck Colson, April 30, 2002, September 30, 2002, "BreakPoint" -- (Matthew 24:14; Mark 13:10; 16:15)
"...Jesus...spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
"...Christ....is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.... There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
Hebrews 9:14-15; 1 Timothy 2:5 KJV
"...We believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved,....not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus....Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...."
Acts 15:11; 2 Timothy 1:9; Acts 16:31 KJV
"The Lord...is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance....All have sinned....Except ye repent, ye shall...perish....God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
2 Peter 3:9; Romans 3:23; 5:12; Luke 13;3,5; John 3:16 KJV
"...God...giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you."
James 4:6-8 KJV

In last week's Update we reported that President Bush's swearing in Bible was, in fact, open to Isaiah 40:31. In last week's poll we invited you to suggest a verse that you might have chosen had you been asked. Your responses were inspiring and encouraging, with many choosing II Chronicles 7:14 and Proverbs 3:5-6. Many other wonderful Scripture passages were chosen as well. Here are a few of your comments:
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" As President, Mr. Bush requires much strength (spiritually, physically, emotionally), wisdom, discernment and guidance to fulfill his role and responsibilities...first to his Creator, second to his wife and family, and third to his country.
--Debra
Jeremiah 29:10-11 When 70 years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My good word to you, to bring you back to this place (Jerusalem). For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
--Steve
Isaiah 40:31 My favorite Bible verse: They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not be faint.
--Al
I have two very favorites and it would be hard to chose, but in President Bush's job, I believe Proverbs 3:5-6 says it all. "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." My other is: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength". I believe the president needs to place Philippians 4:13 on his desk, so that he will see it every day. He has a very difficult job ahead of him, even more so than the last four years. I pray for him daily.
--Faye
I believe a good verse would be Luke 12:48 by application. The Lord has given President Bush and our nation so much, and so He requires much from us. We have an obligation to others because of God's rich blessing upon us.
--Gary
We walk by faith, not by sight. Most of what is required of President Bush is beyond human ability to control, foreknow, or even fully understand. He has been given, for this season, the opportunity to be used of God in ways he will not understand until eternity.
