Is Hypnosis ok

My parents who are very religious and who attend church regularly are now starting to get into hypnosis. I was wondering is hypnosis ok for christians to use or is is from the devil/ We got in a heated arguement and I told them they should trust GOD in all things and not let someone put thoughts in their heads.

Isn't it amazing how people can get into these things? You are so right, hypnosis:

Hypnosis is opening yourself and releasing your spiritual control to another. A bad idea.
As if we don't have enough problems with our own spiritual struggle, hypnosis multiplys the problems and runs the risk of real demonic control.
Why in the world do they think this is okay?

They are strong catholics with a strong religious background. I asked my dad last night what his mother would do if she heard about his delving into hypnosis...He said that he didn't know, but I can bet she would not be happy. My Grandmother (dad side) was a very religious lady who never missed a Catholic mass or religious holiday for the 80 years she lived, except when she was too young or when she was too sick to get out of bed.
Anyway can someone please site examples for me to show them what the bible says about this???

Excuse me.
But being religious and never missing a Catholic mass does not mean anything! Are they born again? Did they accept Jesus as their Lord and savior? Do they trust Jesus for their salvation? This is what it's all about.
Ask your parents if they are born again. If they don't know what this means then they're not born again and also not saved.
Once again the catholic church issue.....

I agree with everybody else, hypnosis not good. It is not okay.

I used to be into the occult and was very much into hypnosis. It puts you into a different state of conciousness and opens your spirit up to demons. There are no specific passages that speak of hypnosis but it's witchcraft.
