Just a thought.....

...Dear Lord, I thought of President Ronald Reagan this morning when I awoke... I thought of when he was an actor, he was considered to be a "B" actor. Fast forward, he becomes Govenor of California....he then becomes President of the United States! And a great one, too! Dear Lord, sometimes when we struggle along in our "professions and vocations""" and we think "Is this all there is?!" ..Maybe, all the training and preparation that's gone into our lives at this very time, is preparing us for something different - something greater than we could have imagined! I wonder if Ronald Reagan ever thought he would become govenor, much less, President of the U.S!! Let's think about this, saints.

Awesome thought! And I believe God has personally told me that is true in my life. I have no idea how all my work in restaurants and a couple years as a maid tie in to a great future (Well, I know one dream it fits in with, that I believe He gave me). But, yes, as we go through "the daily grind" it's hard to imagine how it can get better. But I believe He has told me many times, through many ministries, the Word and through personal words that His children are headed for great things--and SOON!
Thanks for the encouragement!

Thank You Sewart for this post. As I read it and Jeri's reply, I began thinking about my past and future. I have been one who was always afraid of the new, of any change at all. That changed once I met Stacey, from that moment I felt I wanted change in my life, I was no longer afraid to what might be next. When she was saved, immediately it seemed that anything having to do with Missionaries caught here attention. The ones that were killed in the Phillipines just after Christmas, she was the first at church to know about it and bring it to our attention. Little things like that. I have even told God that if once we are back together if that is her calling, then I will go with her anywhere He sends us and I never thought twice about it. A year ago, I would not have wanted to leave this state let alone the country, now I have no reservations about it. I pray that God does woo her back to Him and place that call upon her, I am ready to support her any way I can. I know my call is to be a husband and father, and part of being the best husband I could be is supporting my wife in any call that God would place on her life. Like you said, who knows what the past has been preparing us for, but God knows! He has a plan, pray with me that it comes together soon.

Ditto what Sewart said. When I was going to school to be a school psychologist I thought I was going to be working with regular ed kids. Then when I couldn't find a job in a school I began working at UCP with mentally retarded adults - something I never thought about doing and wasn't sure I wanted to. Now I am finally at a school and am working with mentally retarded and autistic kids and love it. It is tough but I love it. God does work in mysterious ways. When I languished at my last job I could not have imagined why I had to stay there so long or where I was going to end up. But God sent to a great school with great people, great kids, great money and benefits. I hope I never work anywhere else. God was preparting me for something great and for that I'm grateful - scared sometimes I won't succeed but definately grateful. I am sure He is preparing you James and JeriRose for wonderful things.
