Remembering Mistakes
Fred Snodgrass was a famous baseball player for the New York Giants and was on their 1912 World Series team. In the deciding game he missed a pop fly. His error allowed the winning run to come home, costing the Giants the Series. In 1974 Fred Snodgrass died. The New York Times headline read: “Fred Snodgrass, 85, Dead. Baseball Player Muffed Fly in 1912.” At the end of his life, what was remembered about him was his error that cost his team the World Series. Yet, after leaving baseball, he had become mayor of a city in California, was a successful banker, and a father with a wonderful family. Yet, sadly, what was remembered was his mistake!
Prayer
Jesus, I think that sometimes we do the same whenever we define others by their real or supposed mistakes. Please, Lord, help us to concentrate on the “good” in others, their good side, not the so-called mistakes and their “bad” side. Help us not to pass judgment on others.
Amen.

Isa 43:18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
