Is God 1 or is he 3?

I say God is 3 different persons which act as one person.
Jesus= God and also an individual person
The Father= God and also an individual person
The Holy Spirit= God and also an individual person

This makes 3.

I do not say we have three Gods, do I?
I don't know but I do not believe that God is 1 person!
This made no sense. How can Jesus sit to the right of the Father?
How can God, if he's only 1 person, sit next to himself?
Did Jesus pray to himself when he was on earth? No.
Somebody who does not share my opinion said that this is Mormonism!
Is this correct? Anyway, I don't care. I believe that God is not just 1 person which has different images (Father,Jesus,Holy Spirit).

One God with "three personalities", just the opposite of three persons acting as one God.

1 God with 3 personalities? what does this mean?

This would mean God cannot be Jesus, the Father or the Holy Spirit at the same time cause he has to switch personalities... this can't be.

Hi Freddy. Long time no see. How ya doin'?

About your question, I have another question to go with it. A man and woman get married. Now the Bible says they are one. *gasp* How can this be?!

Aaaa! More questions

They are 1 cause they become one flesh.

Hi Frederik!

Maybe this will help...

Think of water, you can have water in 3 forms... vapor, solid water and ice. It is still ALL water but it is displaying 3 different attributes of a single element.

or

Look at my husband, He is a Father, a Son and a GrandFather. He is still one person but he acts in 3 different ways according to the relationship.

God is the same way.

The Father, 100% God!, an individual, All Powerful Creator of all beings!

Jesus Christ, the physical manifestation of God on earth. 100% human... 100% God.

Holy Spirit, 100% God, the breath or Spirit of God that He sends out to do His will and work as paracletos (helper, comforter, closer than a brother...etc) that part of God that comes down to minister to us.

All of these manifestations are a part of the same God, just like water, just like my husband, there are 3 distinct purposes for each manifestation of ONE being or element.

Chuck is still just one man.

H2O is still one element.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit are still just ONE being.

I hope that helps.

Here is a revelation I belive God gave me:

God is like us: He is body; He is Spirit; He is soul. You see, we were created in His image, so I got to wondering how that lines us with the three parts of us, then I realized God is three in one, as we are three in one....

Jesus is the body (in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily). Jesus body housed God.

The Holy Spirit, obviously, is the spirit of God: the very inner being of God, where the thoguhts, desires and secrets of of God dwell.

The Father is the soul -- the mind, will and emotions. Think of the word "Father" -- it denotes a relationship with children. And a good Father is able to share His feelings or emotions with those kids. The Father part of God fills our emotional need of the void in our heart. We are all looling for our Father.... because we want to be affirmed by the love of someone. That Someone is God, our Father. When we have been hurt emotionally, only God can heal us. That is why he identifies himself in one part of the Trinity as Father; so we will connect to the Father we have always needed for our inner healing.

Anyway, something like that.

I believe God is 3 persons.
Otherwise Jesus could not sit next to the Father if God was only 1 person in 3 different forms.

I think this is a very significant theological subject to bring up. In the account of the Creation of the earth, "God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness" (Gen. 1:26) In my heart this stirs a greater appreciation of myself and my earthly brothers and sisters, to think that we are sons and daughters of God. What do you think Paul was referring to when he wrote these words to the Corinthian Saints? "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? To me that means that God and I are not one and the same person, but that a portion of his Spirit, his Light is literally a part of me and is in all of us if we are worthy of that gift.
There is the declaration as set forth in the New Testament, at the baptism of His Beloved Son in the waters of Jordan when His voice was heard saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matt. 3:17)
There was a similar declaration on the Mount of Transfiguration when He spoke again to Jesus and His Apostles; "And behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him" (Matt. 17:1-5)
I also believe that Jesus was born of Mary of the lineage of David as the promised Messiah, that He was in very deed begotten of the Father, and that in His birth was the fulfillment of the great prophetic declaration of Isaiah.
We know Jesus lives, the firsfruits of the Resurrection, when as the risen Lord, He beckoned His descouraged disciples to "come and dine... And (He) taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise" (John 21:12-13)
Then the mission of the Holy Ghost, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
It is my personal belief that the members of the Godhead are distint beings, but they are one in purpose and effort. They are united as one in bringing to pass the grand, divine plan for the salvation and exaltation of mankind. I know there is alot of symbolism used in the scriptures and one has to take care and pray for inspiration for correct interpretations. I don't believe this is purely an intellectual process. But one must have the spirit in order to discern spirtual things. But it is all line upon line, precept upon precept. I know when my mind is being enlightened and suddenly something I've read in the scriptures or heard someone else say, hits me in a very profound way and is greatly empressed on my heart mind and soul. I think it's that light the Lord gives each of us that helps us to recognize truth when we hear it. If something doesn't feel right, or sound right, you can always put it to the test. Study about it and find out all you can and pray to know. Great truths come from God, misconceptions come from man. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God...
