The Christmas Story in Scripture
by Matthew, Luke, and John

The angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a cityof Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.  And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God, and, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. . . . for with God nothing shall be impossible.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.  —Luke 1: 26-38

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost, then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: and knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. —Matt 1:18-25

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.  (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)  And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem (because he was of the house and lineage of David); To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.  And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is  Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men".

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, andJoseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroadthe saying which was told them concerning this child.  And all they that heard it wondered at thosethings which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying andpraising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. . . .

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.  And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord . . . . and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.  And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, "Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.  And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; and she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.  And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. —Luke 2:1-38

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."

When Herod the king had heard these things, he wastroubled, and all Jerusalem with him.   And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.  And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,  "And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel."

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.  And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, "Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also."

When they had heard the king, they departed; and,lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.  When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh. —Matthew 2:1-11

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.   All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life; and the life was the light ofmen.  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. . . .

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. —John 1:1-5, 9-14

I wish you had posted this just one day earlier!

It would have saved me a great deal of time doing it myself for the Children's Program here in Parkland!

December 17th at 7pm for all those in Washington.

Val Jean Vanderhoff will narrate while apropriate hymns play in the back ground and the children form the vingette on the stage. Real simple this year.

Nice work Jerry! The card is beautiful! Can we send it to others?

Nice to see all the ornaments, and Christmas prayers, I read the story as well, as often as I read about Christ and everyone who believes, my thisrt to know more still grows. I thank everyone for all there postings, and all there phtos, I love to read and view them, it is joyful to see so many believers, I pray that we all have safe an prosperous holiday seasons, that our Love for one another increases, that we seek to do things we dont normally do during the Holidays, and for some it maybe ordinary, remember the homeless, and the orphaned, I imagine there faces when gifts are handed to them, there remembered and that to many of them is the biggest gift one can give.

I feel so priveledged to live In America, and feel so blessed to have a roof over my head and friends that Love me and share there lives with me. I thank all of them and all of you who I am meeting here at this sight, its awesome to be able to do these things, to us it seems simple, to those on the street it may never happen to them a simple hi, or a smile means Gold, means they are loved and thought of, it brings me Joy to send a smile to those who are less fortunate, the children who have lost there parents, God I cannot express enough how Thankful I am for the many blessings I have, to me that means I have more to give others.

I also pray for the safety of the troops and there families, for all the troops around the world who fight for freedom and believe they will recieve it! the military battles and spiritual battles, Thank you Jesus for being our saviour, Thank you everyone for there messages.

Have an awesome day with many smiles, and lots of Love overflowing.

Thomas

Pastor Jerry and Family,Thank you for posting this beautiful card. I have not been around lately due to Computer problems, work overload and life. I have also noticed that when I don't get my usual fill of Annointed.net, I am not feeling in the spirit. Thank you for send me that link to the card, that which I took as invitiation to STOP DROP and PRAY. It made me realize what is important to me and I am back, making this haven a priority for me God Willing my computer stays online. I have been edgy, crabby and stressed due to the hustle and bustle of the season. Thank you for bringing back the real reason for the season and making my heart feel lighter.

Lord Jesus, Thank You for giving me the priviledge of being able to praise Your Holy Name here in the wonderful forum. Thank you for Pastor Jerry, his family, the people who maintain the prayer board, the people who gather here to pray, and those who are yet to come. My life is forever changed and when I start to fall away, this is what brings me back. Thank you AMEN AMEN!!!

I enjoyed every single word you put into this card. It is very beautiful. Thank you. One phrase really stood out to me this year......

"But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart."

It never has impacted me before like it has this time. There is so much more to the Word than what meets the physical eye.

For all that you allow God to do through you, I thank you again! Happy Holy Days!

Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. May you be blessed in abundance this holiday season and through out the new year.

Jesus is the reason for the season!Jerry,
I really liked the card. Our family will be gone for a month on vacation. Just wanted to let you know. God is so good to us. We didn't have the money in hand for this long trip until tuesday night and we are leaving on Friday afternoon. Thank you for all you do. I probaly won't be checking in too much during the trip but wanted to say "I love and miss you" the past year was great I had a full year of seminary even if we can't count the credits toward a college degree. God doesn't look at our degrees when we get to heaven anyway, he looks at what we do with the "Word" he places in our hearts. Kevin says he wishes you were his pastor. He doesn't understand the difference between an "evanglist" and a "pastor" yet. But to me you've just become "dad" you were there when I thought my heart had been ripped out of my chest. No you didn't ever do any private conversations, but the spirit of God always worked through you to let me know you knew and could see my pain and suffering just as Jesus does. I am thankful that you were here to teach us all how to do God's will. I know I am alot closer and stronger and smarter in the spirit because God used you to plant so much in my heart. I hope someday to meet the Godly woman that I know must have prayed for her man as I do mine. I hold on to hope that my man will some day muster up all the spirit has for him and do what he was called to do. No I don't mean to give you a big head but just to give credit where it is due. I missed you alot after you left Parkland but I know God wanted to release some more "Jerry's" into battle and to start to use us as the evanglist and teachers and preachers he is calling to do his work. I am growing bolder and unafraid to get out of my comfort zone every day. I only desire to be used to lay many more souls at the feet of Jesus. Timid and shy are no longer the words that describe this young woman, who God has strengthened and called to bring home lost souls to the foot of the cross. I will be praying for you all on the board. Pray for our family as we travel by car all over the US this holiday season. Pray God will give us divine appointments with those who we can point to the foot of the cross and to the love that only Jesus can give. God Bless this ministry and those who work so hard to continue it. In Jesus Name,Amen.

Dearest Jerry,

I want to thank you from deep in my heart, first of all for the beautiful birthday card you sent me on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. It touched me more than you can ever realise.
And today your Christmas Card came. Oh thankyou so much for thinking of us. My eyes are wet with tears to know that someone cares.

My daughter Chinook and I have been going through a tough time this last year. Maybe you remember me on Anointed in the marriage forum and the Vigils ?
Well apparantly i am divorced now, my husband did file for divorce after the annulment wasnt granted. The hearing was on Oct 27 and i havent heard anymore from the court. So i suppose i am divorced. Our clothes and stuff are still there, we still cant afford to get them over to Holland.

Chinook, my little girl, has been diagnosed with ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder, and is still seeing the physcologist after the trauma of my marriage and the effect it has had on her.

Just a few weeks ago, we found out that she has scoliosis, a crookedness of the spine. She is only 11, and the news just devastated me. She goes to a manual therapist, but the condition is not to be helped, only maybe able to be delayed. In a years time, she may have to be operated on if the degree of the abnormality has worsened. They say that it generally develops at 2 and 1/2 inches each year, although it can progress slower or quicker. Every month Chinook will have to be x-rayed to determine the deteriation. The operation, which she wants to have, is so precise that it could leave her paralysed. The Lord is our only hope.
She so needs prayer .

I too have found out that i have atrosis, a stiffness of the joints and have been through a deep depression, still trying to come to terms with it all, my marriage, annulment, divorce, and now my little girl.
Im having such difficulty in praying ...i dont want to cry anymore, dont want to feel the pain and sorrow anymore...if i bring it to the Lord as i know only too well that i should, i know i'll just break down and crumble. im too scared to pray because ill have to face all these things and im so scared i wont be able to get up again....
Please remember us one time in your prayers. With God NOTHING is impossible. Help me to cling to Him. Please pray for Chinook and me.
Carrie-Ann ( Czynka )

Hi: Thanks for the message. I didn't have time to check that out so went to the alternative. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CARD - or SCROLL. You sure out do yourselves with the fantastic web work you do. Thanks so much.
I am so gratful to/for you and your work. May abundant favor and blessings overtake you and give you JOY!. God Bless always. Paula

So good to hear from you! And that is a wonderful card! We can see why it took you a while to do it! Gorgeous - and such a great and beautiful way to 'preach'!!
WE have missed you! It would be wonderful to attend a Gaffney-Randy Back service again. Sadly, the Holy Spirit seems to have been made unwelcome in most of our churches in this area - yes, even our beloved Pastor Ron (Osborne)s . Is it the old religious spirit? Or just a new wave in the Kingdodm?
Bless you all - even more abundantly than ever before!
Our love - Syl & Carolyn - Council, ID
