My prayer is for our nation. I have been concerned about the state of our nation. I am saddened by the state of our nation at this point and I am only 30 years old. I am not saying that things were perfect at any time including when I was growing up, but I am troubled by what I have read and have observed. There is a lack of decency, honor, and respect being shown to others including God Himself. I have noticed that respect for the office of the Presidency has reached an all-time low IMO. I pray that this does not continue in future elections. I remember that people prayed for our last President and I'm sure people prayed for others, but what has happened before the election was pure madness. What is most disturbing is that we are supposed to be a "Christian" nation that is freeing long suffering, long oppressed peoples on the other side of globe and troops from many nations including our own are risking their lives while many people have behaved so badly at home. I think we should be ashamed! I also pray for those in authority, those in business and industry, sports and entertainment, and our schools. I also pray for those in the Sudan. I hope they will not be forgotten (ala Rwanda). It is sick that people cannot make a decision on what to call what is really going on: GENOCIDE, plain and simple. It is also sick that others seem not to care. I also pray for justice for these people there.

Father, I have had no time to read the news lately, I have heard nothing about the Sudan, forgive me. Lord, Have mercy on the Sudan and end the killing. Remove from power those who would abuse power and cause them to repent before Your throne as they come to Jesus for their Forgiveness and Salvation! AMEN!

Norway to host donor conference for Sudan in March: Arab League
Cairo, Dec 6 - Norway is to host a donor conference in March to finance reconstruction projects in war-battered Sudan, an Arab League official said Monday.
"An international conference of donor countries for Sudan is planned for March 2005 in Oslo." Samir Hosni, the League's official in charge of Sudanese affairs, told reporters.
The announcement came after a visiting Norwegian foreign ministry envoy held talks with Arab League secretary general Amr Mussa to prepare for the conference, which will follow a preparatory session in February, also in Oslo.
Ravaged by civil conflict, Sudan is one of the poorest countries in the world. Its foreign debt is estimated at 64 billion dollars, with 40 percent of the total owed to Arab states, according to the League official.
Sudan's Vice President Ali Osman Taha and the main southern rebel chief, John Garang, on Monday resumed high-level talks in Kenya aimed at clinching a peace deal by year-end to halt Africa's longest civil war.
In a separate conflict in the western region of Darfur, more than 70,000 people have been killed or have died from hunger and disease since a revolt erupted in February 2003, according to UN figures.
Aother 1.5 million people have been displaced by the conflict, creating what the United Nations terms the world's ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Oh Dear Father in Heaven, we ask for other nations of the world to help in any possible humanitarian relief for this suffering nation of Sudan. Please bless this nation with it's great temporal needs at this time. Let the people have their hearts turned towards Thee and seek to find Thee in the midst of their great hardships. Bless this nation to be moved upon by Thy Holy Spirit. Comfort the hearts of all those who have lost loved ones and are suffering at this time, in mind, body and spirit. Pour out a blessing of peace to be restored to this nation. and with all those things it is suffering with at this time, We ask this in Jesus Name Amen.
