The child was unwanted Unloved, abandoned But He stepped in Picked up that tiny bundle And held her close to His breast He whispered to her That she was loved by Him That she was beautiful in His sight That He would never abandon her And He watched her grow She was given away by her mother Her earthly father had Long before abandoned her But He stepped in And took her hand And led her to a secret place Once again, He whispered in her ear How much He loved her He held her close And she accepted His love She became a teenager Lost all earthly possessions Through fire and wind But a flame had been kindled in her heart She felt the first flicker of His Flame The quiet Wind encompassing her And she grew And became a mother herself She tried in her own way To find fulfillment To find love, acceptance But it wasn't to be Until He stepped in once again Her husband had abandoned her But He whispered to her of His great love And mercy He promised again That He would never leave her He had always been there Waiting for her total surrender He wanted to dance with her Her husband returned There were still many problems Her children rebelled They worshipped evil Took innocent life Tried to end their existance Went to prison But He stepped in He began to woo them to Himself And they are returning one by one And He is still dancing with the mother He danced with her as she became a grandmother He has never abandoned her He is with her, still And will dance with her till eternity by Deborah L Thomas ©2003 |
