my family is sick

friends....i think our old drafty house is making us sick...there is possibly a mold problem there...dont know yet...but ive been sick on and off for the last 6 months with respiratory...lung stuff...coughing badly.....ely, alexx,britney,delana,danny and myself have all been sick lately with bad coughing.....it just seems we can get over it..please pray that we get some relief from this...and if the house is causing us to be sick that we find a way of fixing it...thank you!

thank you for your prayers...please keep praying cause me and britney and elyga and alexx are still coughing really bad....we dont want to be sick on christmas...cant afford to go to doctor but i may have to take ely anyway...i know God is the great physician...so pray he helps us...thank you

You will be in my prayers. If it is a mold problem, it won't get better until the leak(s) are reparied and the mold cleaned up. The local health department can help you with resources, names of companies and so on, that will come to clean up mold problems. If you have bleach, there is a start.
Mix a solution of 60%bleach and 40%water.You can use that to clean the mold that is visible. Spray or wipe it on, and let it sit for a minute or two before wiping off.(Make sure you wear gloves, like latex or rubber as you do this...and a respirator...the cheap-o ones they have at walmart in the pharmacy/lawncare depts work fine...a package of 3 for under $2.00). Depending on the severity of the problem, it may take a few passes, but it works wonders (and is alot cheaper).
We used that to take care of a mold problem we had at the site of our water heater last year. It had sprung a very bad leak and the floors and walls were all mold. We still had to replace the floorboards and dry wall, but the bleach helped dramatically. It stopped spreading. I was sick all last year with asthma attacks so severe I ended up in the hospital, and chronic respiratory problems that did not go away untilt he mold problem was fixed.

I had the same problem this past June/July.
If you rent contact local Housing authority about the problem if landlord refuses to correct problem.
Also whether you rent or own contact the health department who will tell you how to clean the fungus. They have low cost solutions to correct the problem. Note if the mold/fungus is wet DO NOT USE Bleach & water. I found out it only adds to the problem.
Go to home depot or Lowe's or any hardware store and pick up a fungus detector. It will have the directions on it on how to use it.
I would suggest you take yourself to the hospital with your family NOW and tell them that you believe you are sick and that you have been breathing fungus/molds. Most fungus diseases found in the home are not toxic, but if you have respriatory (breathing) problems it will kill you.
Best bet until the solution of fungus is removed is go to a motel and live there.
