how do you get rid of demons?

I think I have demons.
After listening to a teaching about demons I am absolutely sure that I have demons. But what to do now?
Wherever there are compulsions there are demons and I have compulsive thoughts.

You sound worried, dont be.
And as for your question about "what should I do"
you should talk with your Father in Heaven, who has promised to protect you and restore you and bring you back on his path nomatter how far you stray.
Pray to the Lord your Father and seek his guidance, read His Word and follow his direction.

But I don't even know what to do.
I don't know if you can cast out demons on your own and even if it worked I don't know if I could do it.

Keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus, do not worry yourself with these things. He promises us His protection...Do not fear the devil or his demons, just focus on your relationship with the Lord and sharing that
I really think that if you were to seek all these questions whole heartedly in your Bible you would find more peace then asking us here, I feel lead to tell you these words over and over
"Jesus" focus on Jesus, go to Jesus, ask Jesus, beg with Jesus, plead with Jesus, talk with Jesus, walk with Jesus, talk about Jesus, study about Jesus, strive to be like Jesus, the answer to all these things is Jesus, all your questions and worries lead back to Jesus, the Savior of the World and our Father in Heaven.... it really is that simply.Trust in Jesus, get to know Jesus better.. he will answer your prayers he will hear your crys he will love you like noone else and lead you to the answers you need...
I really feel led to just tell you this again.. JESUS... Frederick its all about Jesus... you have nothing to fear for you are a child of God... you are safer then you could ever be...he promises us his arms of protection and to restore us and to rescue us.. ALWAYS..

Just focus all your thought on Jesus. Evil is scared of Jesus and will not penetrate someone who prays to the Son of God, Jesus. Remember Jesus, defeated evil by His death and we too can defeat evil by remaining focused on Jesus and His love for us.

Jesus just took authority over them and cast them out! They knew Him when they saw Him and they'd rather jump into pigs and commit suicide than deal with Him!

I've seen people cast out demons, and I've had them cast out of me. It has to do with God's power in You, if you are the one casting.

These are some of the ways I've been shown:

A person walks into the room. Grumpy and mean looking. Snippy and gripey. A woman walks up to him and begins to pray for good things to start happening in his life, but his demeanor doesn't change, nor does he listen. A man who has been watching all this take place comes up and says something like, "Boy, you've got a spirit of anger on you and I am casting it out now." He places his hand on the back of the boy's neck and says, "Go!".... the spirit leaves immediately. The boy turns to him, grinning, and says, "Thanks."

I've had dreams where I was dealing with lots of children in different rooms. I could look at them and tell by their countenance (coloring, sort of 'raised up' sometimes), in their faces. I would just point at them and say, go. The color (and so the spirit) would leave. Then sometimes another would appear. I would just keep repeating until they were all gone.

A white haired minister just calmly sits in a chair and tells them to go (by name, like anger, resentment, hissy fit, etc.) in Jesus' Name. He takes drinks of water off of a table that sits in front of him once in awhile. You can hear coughing, sneezing, a soft giggle, yawning coming from the congregation.....this is how they leave some people. He just repeats it over and over until they (the demons or afflictions) are gone.

God showed me how to shut a doorway. First, you take authority over it, then you bind it, then you cast it under the feet of Jesus Christ because "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." (When you take authority, you do it in the Spirit, and when you bind it, you do it in the Spirit.....this is nothing you can see with Your eyes.....it is an act or confession of faith and you speak out loud this whole process.

I was very angry one time (A demon of anger) and having an argument with my husband. He smiled at me and asked me for my hands (which made me very, very angry), but I did it to be obedient to God (not to please my husband). My husband softly told it to go and it left. I sat down in the chair, totally relieved and relaxed. My husband said, "Wow! Did you see that? It went right through the roof! (I learned in Jerry Gaffney meetings that a demon will increase intensity just before it is cast out).

You can ask God to take it out of you in Jesus' Name and He will.

The Word of God says if you resist evil, it will leave you.

Now, about casting out demons.....Jesus warns us that if we cast a demon out of someone and they are then sanctified (cleaned up on the inside) that that dwelling place needs to be sealed (Jesus is called the Door). If this doesn't happen, the demon may go get other demons to jump back in that person with him and that person would have been better off if they'd been left alone in the first place.

Also, I had a dream about family problems.....you will find that in "A General Word from the Lord."

All of these things work, but there are probably some I don't know about yet.....I am still watching.

If you know of anyone, or of any church that wants to practice casting out demons, I know of a perfect place to do it.....

I agree with pickone and the others who have posted. You have the authority by the power of the Holy Spirit. Don't be afraid to use it.

Dear Frederik,

Jesus has given you complete authority. That authority is SPOKEN.

Your words, spoken directly to the demons in Jesus' name, have to be obeyed.

Remember, you are not praying. Praying is talking to God.

Remember, you do not ask God to send them away. He told YOU to do it. His work is done, it is your job to pick up the tools he put in your hand, and use them.

Tell them to go. Just command them to leave you alone.

Here is a sample...

"I choose as an act of my will and in the power of the Holy Spirit to confess and repent of all of my sins.

I renounce sin and any spirits associated with sin.

I will not cooperate with any spirit not of God.

Go now, and do not return.

I speak my deliverance, in Jesus' name."
