Dear Friends,

I am blessed and priveleged with the honor that GOD has given me a great heart for those who are caregivers of those who have "special needs" and are "extra special blessings. Recently MaryTemp(Mary) and I have chatted and discovered we both have the same passion, for multiple reasons. We both have been blessed with the opportunity to be caring for some extra special blessings within our own children. Our daughters are approximately the same age, and are affected by High Functioning Autism.

WE PRAISE GOD FOR GIVING US A PLACE WHERE WE COULD COME TOGETHER TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO FULFILL DESIRES WITHIN US, to help those who deal with some of the same things we have been thru.

We both agreed that GOD brought us together to bring our experiences, knowledge and passion for HIS "extra special blessings" to serve those who need prayer from those who understand what they go through. We have sought Jerry's counsel and received his blessing for starting the threads.

With this thread I would like to have the prayers be for those who are the caregivers of "extra Special Blessings". This will cover anything from chronic illness to those with mental, emotional or physical "challenges".

I, myself have gone thru a nervous breakdown in becoming so focused on taking care of my "extra special blessing" that I forgot to take care of myself. I know Mary also understands this and so we both want to help those who are having rough times in taking care of themselves while still providing for the needs of their loved ones.

Being a caregiver takes a lot of emotional, physical, mental, and more importantly, SPIRITUAL strength. It takes a toll on you in many areas of your life and Mary & I know this.
I have been working with "special needs" kids and adults since I was 7, have experience being a caregiver in many different arenas, and now being the parent of a "special needs" daughter that has been one of the greatest blessings GOD has given me; and have learned and re-learned the hard and easier ways of doing things that I would like to help put those experiences to use to help others.

Here are areas of prayer that GOD has placed upon my heart and Mary's heart to reach out to and additional ideas for this thread topic.
Prayers for caregivers for those afflicted with chronic illnesses
Prayers for caregivers of those who are "special needs"
Prayers for healing for those with "special needs"
Prayers for salvation for those with "special needs"
Ideas and suggestions on ways to reach thru to teach respect and discipline for small children who are special needs in biblical aspects
Ideas for bible studies and how to reach thru to those who are "special needs" to teach them about GOD and JESUS CHRIST.
How to use your experiences with caring for loved ones who are "special needs" to reach out to others and share the mercy and GRACE of GOD and what it means to you having your "extra special blessing"

I know in my spirit, that GOD has blessed each of us greatly, and we are greatly trusted by him, which is why he chose to give us these "extra special blessings" by placing them in our care. Remember that on the days, that you just don't feel you can go on.

We always hear of caregivers not getting enough support. Well, you have our support, love, and compassion here.We want to offer up prayers, encouragement and ideas of how to help each other thru the rough times.
May GOD continue to give rest you need, the strength to endure, and the courage to carry on, in caring for these blessings even with the "challenges" they present on a daily basis. My heart goes out to each and every one of you.

The first thing I would like to do, is put the listing of the names of the caregiver, and name/age of your "special blessing" with the condition so we know the challenges to pray for. I am including myself and Mary as the first couple of names, along with those I know of alreadyYou may message me or leave a posting here and I will add your name accordingly.

Hi. This sounds like a wonderful idea. I would like to add my nephew to the list. He has Dyspraxia (Clumbsy syndrome) which affects his social skills terribly, ADHD and mild autism.
Also my brother-in-law Bryan has a genetic disease which affects his muscle tissues in his legs. Thank fully though he is strong and uses his legs normally. Pray that this continues for as long as he lives and cast out the fears that doctors have given him about being in a wheelchair in his fifties.

God Bless you Julia for starting this thread. I know so many of us certainly need the prayers and blessings. I intend to feverently pray each day over each need. You are such a blessing to this board Julia, I feel the presence of the Lord over this. God Bless you sis!

Father,

Please help each and every care giver whom needs your guidance, and these special needs children whom are precious in your sight. Bless each and everyone Dear Lord, and bring them Faith and Hope so that they will know you are there beside them. Please bring forth your fire Lord, and swift miracles of healing in the lives of these innocent children. Let us feel your presence breathing life into the ordinary things we do everyday. I Thankyou Lord, for your love for each of them, I praise your Holy name. I will worship you all of the days of my life, for you have made me new, and washed me clean. Thank-you sweet Lord! Let us open our hearts and minds to you, make us ready for your blessings, so that they might overflow. I ask this in Jesus Holy Name, Amen!!!

Michelle,

I will gladly add the names of your nephew(need his name and age) and your brother in law to the Autism List(need Bryan's age and condition please). This area is for the caregivers; so if you could give me the names of those individuals so we can lift them up in prayer also, it would be greatly appreciated. Take care and be blessed.

To those of you who know of a caregiver of someone who is fighting chronic illness or maybe has a "extra special blessing" (special needs child/ chronological adult); please provide us with that information. I see so many requests that it's hard to keep up with them all. If you would post here the names of the caregiver, the name of the person they are caring for and what the "condition" is, it would be greatly appreciated.

So often, we pray for those with just the condition themselves, yet we forget to pray for those caring for the individual and their condition of being tired, stressed, emotionally/spiritually drained. It is not an easy place to be in, especially those who have other family members to take care of. So again, I implore you, if you know of caregivers, please post their names here so we can lift them up in prayer for GOD to give them the continued strength and endurance. I thank you for this; and thank you for caring.

Father,

I come before you now to stand in the gap for all caregivers out there who are providing the needs to be met for each of those dealing with chronic illness or "extra special blessings". I ask that you shower them with your love, strength and endurance, the wisdom they need to know when it's time for a break, and when to ask for support.!!! I ask these things in the name of thy beloved son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
