A Call to All Prayer Warriors in America

January 26, 2005

      A Sure Way To Get Our Troops Home Faster!

       Something Very Concrete and Simple that will:
      Please God,
      Please Our Government..... and
      Please Muslims Around the World!

       A Six Month Commitment
           to Strategic Prayer
           for The New Iraqi Government

         My prayer is for our sons and daughters to come home as quickly as possible.  The Iraq War may be
    an unwinnable, urban-guerilla war for us. We cannot leave with honor unless Iraq has a stable, effective
    government of its own.  Here’s what we can do and what  churches can do to speed up the process:

  • Pray for the success of the Iraqi elections that will happen on January 30-31: in one week!
    America cannot leave without a functioning government there.  These elections could be the beginning.
    Chuck Pierce writes,
  • We must pray for the Lord’s choice for leadership for this nation to be accomplished.  Pray
    against assassination and kidnapping of key leaders.  Ask the Lord for the women to rise up with a
    new boldness.  We believe women will have a great influence in the direction of this nation as well as
    the unraveling of the control of Islam. {1/3 of those elected will be women--by law!}

  • As a church, consider doing what no non-Iraqi church may have ever done:
  • Adopt a member of the new national government to pray for by name and let that leader
    know of your ongoing prayers and support for the next six months.
    Such prayer support and love for Muslim leaders will have a dramatic spiritual and emotional effect
    on Iraqi leaders and on Muslims worldwide.  Think of the power in prayer that would be released
    over Iraq if that Iraqi official were lifted up in prayer during each Sunday Service for the next six
    months. What a Christ-like way to obey (1Ti 2:1-4):
    First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made
    on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil
    and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our
    Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

  • Pray for the survival of those elected and their families.  They will be prime targets for the
    insurgents.  They must live long enough to take charge of their nation so we can leave.  Today's
    Virginian Pilot newspaper in Norfolk, VA ( January 23, 2005, p. A1) says essentially  this same thing: the
    fate of this Iraqi government is irrevocably tied to the withdrawal date for our forces in Iraq.

  • Pray for your adopted Iraqi official to have the wisdom of Solomon to rebuild and stabilize his
    or her nation effectively.  Many lives--American, Coalition and Iraqi-- could be saved when this
    happens.

  • Ask God to give your adopted official the courage to persevere despite the many threats and
    attacks that will come upon them and their families as government leaders. The insurgents will
    have no greater target than these new leaders.

    As churches and as individuals, decide now to pray for the establishment of a wise,  
    courageous and safe government for Iraq.  The lives of our sons and daughters there depend
    on it.  We cannot leave soon if the country continues to be in shambles as it is today.

    will updated shortly after the elections, Lord willing.  You can get a mail or email address to notify your
    adopted official that you are praying for him by emailing usconsulbaghdad*state.gov  
         I have chosen to pray for the President--Sheikh Ghazi Ajil al-Yawar until the new leaders are elected.

    Lastly, pray for the safety of our troops as they facilitate the elections.  Chaplain Lyle Shackelford,
    is Battalion Chaplain with the HHD, 57th Transportation Battalion in Iraq sent out a prayer request to
    America.  His battalion will distribute the voting machines to very dangerous polling locations across
    Iraq. See Chaplain Shackelford’s entire prayer request.

    We must love those who have hated us and for those who still hate us.  We must fight evil with
    good.  It is our only heart-option as Christians—and the wisest, most godly Church response to an anti-
    Christian religion.

    PS: You may also want to pray that the Iraqi leader and his family have a dream or vision of
    Jesus.  Strange as it may seem, it is well documented by several Christian ministries that in many
    Islamic nations today, about 50% to 80% of Moslems becoming Christians have had a recent dream or
    vision of Jesus leading to their salvation.  I just heard a Christian leader returning from Iran say that it is
    hard to find an Iranian Christian who has not had such an experience prior to conversion!  
    Prayer has played a major role in  this!  A future edition of Partners--our free online newsletter, will
    have a major story on the new CBN film being made called More than Dreams on this subject. See this
    site for a current example of Muslims seeing Jesus in their dreams.

          Finally, I believe that the Lord is saying that the prayers of His Church in America and worldwide for    
    these new Iraqi leaders will:
  • Prepare the way of the Lord into Baghdad and into Iraq. ( Mark 1:1-3)  God is preparing a great
    harvest in the Muslim world worldwide!

Our State Department can help us deliver those list names to the Iraqi officials in the near future.

Father in the name of Jesus I pray for all of the country of Iraq. I pray for a fair election. I pray that You would put into leadership a person that will come to know You as their Lord and Saviour. I pray that there be protection over all the candidates, all the elected officials. I pray that any attacks be thwarted before being carried out. I pray that the methods of communication among dissidents be distorted. Like at the tower of Babel You confused their language, I pray that You confuse the enemies there.

I pray for interruption in radio and satellite transmissions. I pray that the enemies be exposed. I pray for a good stable government and a safe return of all of our troops. I pray for protection over the troops of all the nations. i pray for the citizens of Iraq. Father I pray that Your will be done.

I pray for salvations in the name of Jesus. I pray for an outpouring of Your spirit in Iraq in the name of Jesus. I pray for missionaries and evangelists to come forth in the name of Jesus. I pray for the spread of Christianity in that land in the name of Jesus. I pray for the tearing down and falling apart of all false religions in the name of Jesus.

I pray for our leadership in America that they would be led by Your Holy Spirit in negotiations, in battle and in the months to come. I pray for our President, his cabinet of advisors and for our congress. I pray for the finances to spring forth to spread the gospel in this land. I pray for a stable economy in this land in the name of Jesus.

Pray for Iraqi Interim Government (IIG) The IIG consists of the Presidency of the State (comprised of a President and two Deputy Presidents), a Council of Ministers, including a Prime Minister, an Interim National Council, and the Judicial Authority.
Prepare the way of the Lord into Baghdad and into Iraq.

Father, Bring Your Peace to Iraq! Bring a man You can reach into office. I stand in the gap for the people of Iraq. Protect them Lord and stop the terror! Stop the kidnappings, stop the killing, stop the murders, stop the assasinations. Lord, protect the troops that are in harms way to give the Iraqi people a chance to govern in a free state, a Republic formed by Your hand. Lord, as You did in the days of Jonah I ask You to send a prophet to speak the Words of Salvation to the people of Iraq! As You did then, do now Lord and turn the hearts of the people to You! Lord I know You love the Iraqi people because You sent Jonah to them when they were called Ninehvites and moved mightily in them. You sent the Apostle Thomas to them when they were called Assyria and they became the first Christian nation! There are many of Your Prophets buried in Iraq! If they are buried there then they lived there too, bringing Your Word to the people of the region throughout history. Lord I know You can change their hearts once again, use this election to bring the people of Iraq back to You! In Peace! In Your Blessing! AMEN!

Dear Father in Heaven, I pray in agreement concerning this prayer request for intervention for the country of Iraq. I pray that the elections will be a success, and that You will have a mighty hand in the choice for this election over these people. I pray that those who are chosen will have the power of the Lord over them and protection against the cunning and evil designs of those who would desire to destroy any progress and new found freedom and democracy over the people. I pray for any new leader and government to have a chance to take root and for their protection and that of their familiy. I pray that they will have wisdom in bringing together the nation and people and building up of this war torn country. I pray that our troops will take heart and be of good courage as they are in harms way and sacrificing so much. I pray for their continued faith, strength, courage and renewal spiritually and physically. I pray for devine intervention for their safety. I pray that Christianity may take a firm hold in Iraq and many more will be brought to a knowledge that Jesus is their Savior and Redeemer. I pray that Your spirit will take hold in this nation and bring down the spirit of terrorism and hate. I pray Thy hand and Thy mind and will be down in Iraq. Bless and sustain our troops and our nations leaders and President Bush. I ask in Jesus Holy Name amen.

Oh Glorious Lord...shine the Light of Your Holy Spirit and Fire upon Iraq. Lord, call forth truth and freedom. Place the faces of those who seek to keep this nation in bondage, into the dirt! Lord, let Love flow in this nation. Set the captives free. Protect the lives of those you have to serve in this new government. Place angels about all those who go to vote, and protect them from all harm. Lord, supernaturally protect them in such a way that all the citizens of the Nation will see it and will desire to have that protection. Lord, we ask that you will "visit" each of those who are called to vote, to participate in the election, those who are to stand and protect. Lord, God, show them a free Iraq! Place within their hearts a desire so great they must go vote. Show them that fear is not a reason to remain a slave. Lord, we ask that you will call the people to the polls, and they will elect the people chosen by your for the task, and leadership of the nation. Father, cause boldness to come upon those who are to lead. Protect those who are to lead. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper or prevail, and that this is a nation of peace and Love. Father, we ask that Jesus will personally visit all those you are calling to enter your kingdom. Lord, show the people the truth of the redemption and salvation of Jesus. They already know him as a great prophet.....let then see him as Lord and Savior. Father, we ask you to call the children to pray. Lord, let them pray without ceasing, pray layer upon layer of prayer, pray with the blood covering upon each person they pray for. Lord, a miracle is needed in Iraq and it has to be your miracle since you are the only one who can handle this whole situation! Father, Bless this Nation and lead these people to salvation and freedom in Christ!
Lord, I ask you to take this pray and all others for the election the people of Iraq, the future leaders of Iraq, and the governement of Iraq, the US and UN forces, and Iraqi forces and multiply it exponentially and Lord, send angels to complete the work of clearing the streets of terrorists, and stopping dead in their tracks any attacks against anyone in that Nation. Lord, God, we ask for Immediate Miracles, In the Name of Jesus for the Glory of the Kingdom and for the Harvest. AMEN and AMEN

Father God, we praise you! We thank you for your hand of mercy upon our Miltary and upon the Iraqi people. Lord God, protect them all. Surround them with your Fire and cover them in your Blood. Set them free Lord to know you.
Lord, we ask for miracles in Iraq. We claim blessings for our Military as they come in and as they go out. We proclaim that where evil abounds, grace abounds even more, for this is YOUR WORD!!!!
Lord, stop the terrorists, stop the bombing, stop the attacks, stop the hatred, stop the fear.
Lord during the hurricane you showed us that when we entered into the hurricane and praised you, you would dispel the darkness, turn the storms, protect the people. Lord, we desire that the Iraqis' are free and live in a democracy. The time is now for you to move, that none will be mistaken and all the World will have to notice that YOU are God and YOU are in control of all things. Father, every prayer for safety and democracy in Iraq and America will be multiplies exponentially, and cause the wind of YOUR HOLY SPIRIT to move over Iraq, as you moved over the earth during creation. Lord, God.....WE ask you for these things out of pure hearts and clean hands for the Glory of You! You are an awesome God and we praise you and thank you and bless you. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Heavenly Father, protect our servicemembers in every dangerous situation. Lord God, keep them safe. Surround them with angels and the blood covering that they are protected. Lord, we ask you to reveal yourself to the terrorist that they would lay down their weapons and follow you.
Father, we bind and rebuke the powers of darkness over Iraq and Afganistan and all stronholds. Lord we loose the mighty power you possess to the battlefields, wherever they are. Cause those who seek to destroy freedom be rendered helpless, and unable to accomplish any of their goals. Lord, we call forth confusion to control and reign in their midst. We call forth your spirit of sleep, to make them tired and weary and to not care about their past anger, or hatred. Lord, cause a deep and complete sleep to fall upon them, that they will not realize what they were doing. Lord, overcome them by the blood of the lamb, and bring them to their knees seeking you.
Lord it is in the Name of Jesus and for His glory, that I ask. AMEN
