How often do we put it on. I just love the studying the Word of God. Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. The word PUT ON is in the Aorist Imperative tense It has no past, present or future It is the eternal act of today or now The Imperative is a command not a request or suggestion. The best way of seeing it is here Luk 9:23 And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. DENY and TAKE UP are both in the Aorist Imperative Then the Holy Spirit Added Daily so you would understand to do it DAILY Just as you must Deny yourself daily TAKE UP your cross daily You must put on your Armour DAILY It is the same Aorist Imperative Yes you might have bathed yesterday but today is a new day. Washed with the washing of the water of the word. If we did not bath today we stink. If we do not deny ourselves today If we do not die daily 1Cr 15:31 ..... I die daily. If we do not take up our cross daily If we do not put on our armour daily These are all Imperative Commands to be done daily again they are not suggestions or requests. Jesus is demanding and commanding that you do this daily. Now is He Lord and Master of everything. If the word demand made you feel upset then the Holy Spirit is working of some flesh that has not died yet. We must do this daily otherwise we are not ready for battle that day. That is why so many Christians are not victorious on a daily basis. Satan is kicking them around because they have not put on the Armour of God properly that day. |
