All men could hear it in there own language. this was almost like the curse of
Babel was removed. But later The Apostle talks about a tongues that needs Interpretation. 1Cor ...where he boasted he Spoke at least 5000 words...'but mentioned it would be better if they had an interpreter. Anyone have an Idea why they are diferent?

God was against the tower of Babel and what it symbolized. The men thought they could get to God by building a tall tower. We know the way to God is through Christ, so he used that particular moment to speak to each man who came there from all over the world. The interpretation was already there because they heard their own language. They understood every word.
When we speak in tongues without interpretation there is no understanding of every word. Since the spiritual gifts are given for our edification, others can't be edified by our speaking in tongues without hearing the meaning in our own language. Thus the admonishment.

Rmartel- God- thru the Apostles, demonstrate two types of "speaking in tongues". 1- Day of Pentecost- Holy Spirit gave the more than 120 saved, the ability to speak to all people present in thier native tongues to hear the Gospel preached. Yet, there is also what God speaks of as a "Gift of Tongues". The Apostle Paul refered to this as the "tongues of Angels". I've known ministers who went on trips, sat next to someone and the Holy Spirit prompted them to speak to that person, not realizing until started to speak, the words came out in that other's native tongue to recieve the Gospel of Christ. Yet, the "Gift of Tongues" requires an interpreter for the edification of the "Body of Christ". It's what you might liken to a special message to God's Children, thru a spiritual language directly from God. Hope this helps. Take care and God Bless!!
