Father I thank You for taking away from me my addiction to coffee. This may sound silly to some of you, but I have been trying to stop this habit for years, with no good results. Whenever I fast I stop drinking coffee for a day or so and the headaches are so bad I start again.

Monday morning I woke up and the Lord just spoke to my heart and told me to stop. I know I could not do it on my own strength, but with His help and His grace i am now free from this bondage.

Thank You, Abba Father for setting me free from this!

That's wonderful Bruce! Over here in Norway they drink a lot of coffee. They actually started giving it to my husband when he was still a child. That is very common. My husband said he use to have headaches all the time when he was drinking coffee, but when he stopped they quit. There is also a lot of scientific evidence that it can cause a lot of problems, like anxiety and linked to a lot of different ailments.

Did you go cold turkey or just taper down?

I went cold turkey from coffee. The first couple of days i had headaches. I took a couple of advil. The third day I drank 1/2 cup of regular coffee. I have had a couple of glasses of iced tea this week, also, so I guess that it was a gradual weaning.

At least I don't have to wake up every morning and drink a pot of coffee in order to get my day started.

I used to drink a pot of coffee here at home, then a couple of cups at work, and sometimes even after work. I fianlly started feeling like no different than a drug addict or an alcoholic since I had to have my caffeine.

Praise God!
