This is today's update:

Police are searching for 46-year-old John "Johnny" Evander Couey in connection with the disappearance of nine-year-old Jessica Lunsford. Police do not know if Couey had contact with Lunsford, but they know that he is a registered sex offender who was staying near her home. Couey's last know address was on Grover Cleveland Boulevard in Homosassa. Couey is described as being a white male, 5'4" tall and 125 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair, a goatee, and tattoos on his right arm.

When Jessica went missing, police began making contact with all registered sex offenders in the area. When detectives identified Couey, they discovered he had moved. Since registered sex offenders are required to notify authorities within 48 hours of any move, police say they flagged him as an absconder.

He was staying with a half-sister 'within eyeshot' of Jessica's house.

A relative of Couey's then admitted that she had purchased a bus ticket for him, under another name, and that he had travelled to Savannah, Georgia. At the very least, police believe he knew they were looking for him. Couey also has a warrant for violation of probation from August 2004 arrest for possesion of marijuana.

Cops say Couey has a lengthy criminal history in Florida dating back to the 1970s, including multiple arrests on charges including burglary, indecent exposure, fraud and larceny.

Please continue to pray for this dear child and to apprehend this person of interest.

I pray that Jessica is returned safe and sound to her family. Some people lost faith in Elizabeth Smart being returned alive, but God brought her home. I pray that Jessica is somewhere being cared for and that she will be reunited with her family. I pray that if this neighbor, Johnny Couhey, knows anything, he will give assistance. I pray that he at least checks in and clears his name and that he is not just hunted down without sufficient evidence. Dear God, may Your Will be done in this situation. Thank You,
Sharyn
