Health Insurance or unemployment

I need someone to advice me or talk with me with a problem I have.
I have (as one can tell) not worked or a few days since November 2004. My employer has been providing the employees with the work as it comes in which is small amount due to a loss of some major clients that we used to do work for.
My employer, even though I am not working pays for my health insurance plan as long as I agree to work all available hours that he can provide for me. This is a great benefit being he is willing to pay for my insurance cost ($270 per month) even when we have NO work to do.
My problem is that even though God has blessed my family with so many great blessings and I TRUST in the Lord, I have been a little hesitant to file for unemployment compensation being my employer pays for my health insurance. I am kind of worried that he will stop paying for the policy if I file for unemployment compensation; and I need my health insurance since I have congestive heart failure and the cost of my prescriptions is very high without insurance. Plus I need to see my doctor every 3 weeks to keep a check on my Blood pressure and heart problems.
I was wondering if anyone knew if an employer can cancel the policy for health insurance on employees even though there is no declared layoff at work. The employees are just laid off due to a lack of work. The CEO has told everyone to file if they want to for unemployment compensation. I tried to reach him but he is very busy trying to get new clients for the company and get everyone back to work ASAP.
side note: A few sites such as Total Living center has a free medical clinic and there are groups out there to help pay for my prescriptions if I need help if I lose my health insurance.
also side note: One reason I am thinking about filing now is I fear that the company may close the doors or go bankrupt since the little work we have had, surely can't pay for the bills the company occures through a month and I keep wondering how long before we are told the company has closed until further notice.
Any help anyone can provide me would be greatly appriciated....
May God Bless You
Chris

The Lord knows that You have needs for your heart. The Lord Jesus loves you. I do not have any advice other than to follow your heart, to act as you normally would- tell Jesus which way you want to go and pray that He will bless it.
