Police and Protesters surround this little church because of the Good Friday Service. Read the rest of this story to find out why.

Dear Friends,

What could make over 2 million people wait to see what was going to happen on Good Friday at this little church? .What would make the police line up on the sidewalk outside? What could make crowds stand outside the entrance of this little church? Why were protesters lined up outside? Why had they had come from all over to try to stop the service?

This is a true story. It happened on Good Friday a few years ago. Inside the church, you could hear a pin drop. Men were standing at the entrance of the church, unsure of what was going to happen. The building was filled beyond capacity. The eighteen-wheel tractor trailer network TV camera trucks were surrounding the church. Their TV satellite dishes were poised to broadcast any news from within the church, around the world.

What could have caught the imagination of the town to make it the lead story on the local ABC, CBS & NBC news affiliates in the 11:00am news and the 5:30pm news? It would be broadcast again on all the networks. Over 2 million people were waiting to see what was going to happen at this little church in Washington.

On the non-Christian radio talk shows, the news of this little church had caught the imagination of a whole state, 24 hours a day, for 4 days. What could have made pastors call the stations to explain why Jesus had to die on the cross? People were calling in asking, "Why, if God is love, why would He want to kill?" People were asking, "Why would a loving God want to kill His own Son?" People were asking, "Why would God be so unkind as to have a need to kill animals before Jesus came? Why would killing anything make God feel better?"

Ministers, theologians, philosophers, historians and teachers called to express their views. Some quoted the Bible, and some quoted history. All expressed their thoughts. Some said, "God would not do it the same today." Some said they could not believe in a God who had a need for death. Some said, "It would terrorize children." Some said if that was Christianity, they would never believe. As they criticized Mel Gibson and his movie "The Passion of Christ", so they condemned this little church. Just what were they going to do?

What we had for about three weeks was a miracle. A whole state wrestled with the subject of salvation. The news media talked about "why we have a need for a Savior". The TV news media talked about "the price of sin". The radio talked about a need for a Jesus. They talked in restaurants. They talked in stores. They talked in schools. They talked about it everywhere.

Back in the church, the TV camera crews were setup in the balcony. The newspaper reporters and photographers were everywhere. The congregation had been there early, so they could get seats. Now, it was time to see what the Lord would do. What had this Evangelist Jerry Gaffney done to make them want to come?

Then it happened. Evangelist Jerry Gaffney walked in with a small, black lamb, named Alfalfa. He brought Alfalfa up on the platform. Jerry knelt down to pet the lamb. Not a sound was made in the building. This little lamb had caught the hearts and the attention of a whole state. Camera flashes went off, TV camera lights came on, reporters sat on the edge of their seats. People were trying to save the lamb.

Over 180 people per hour had called in to save the lamb. Bomb threats were called in to save the lamb. Many death threats on Jerry Gaffney's life were called in to save the lamb. I know it makes no sense. They wanted to kill a man to save a lamb. What was Gaffney going to do?

It reminded us of a crowd 2000 years ago that turned on another man. It reminded us of a people who were so upset they cried, "Crucify Him!" Hundreds and hundreds called to express their views. It was so wonderful, we almost wanted to cry.

Never before in the history of Washington had so many people thought about Jesus, and wrestled over salvation in such a short period of time. Jesus had provoked them to think about their souls. What could have stirred up so much commotion?

Jerry said, "I had spoken many times about Passover. Many times, at many churches, I had explained that we were to take a lamb into our homes for five days. Many times, I spoke about how we were supposed to fall in love with the lamb. Now, a whole state had fallen in love with this lamb. Many times, I spoke about how we would have to kill the lamb for Passover, as a sacrifice to God, in obedience to His Word."

Gaffney picked little Alfalfa up and put him on the altar. As he did this, people screamed, "Don't kill the lamb!" The lights went dark, and the lamb was gone. Only a single spotlight shone on the empty table where Alfalfa had been. The only thing that was left was a bloodstained tablecloth.

There was a gasp in the congregation. They whispered, "Did he really kill the lamb?" Jerry walked over to another curtain and said, "Why is there so much stress about something we are going to barbecue? Why aren't we concerned about the Lamb Who died for our sins?"

We then opened a curtain that revealed a man on a cross. He really looked as if he had just been crucified. The sight of him horrified many in the crowd. Their breath was almost taken away to see something so real. His hands and feet looked as if they were bleeding. His brow had scars from the thorns. His face looked as if he had been beaten.

Evangelist Jerry Gaffney fell at his feet and prayed, as if he was the real Jesus. Gaffney prayed as if Jesus had died for his sins. It was almost too personal. It was almost too embarrassing to watch a man fall at the feet of Jesus.

Gaffney spoke about the eight places Jesus bled and died.

1: He spoke about the blood on His brow - how He died to His will.

2: He spoke about the blood on His head - how satan mocked His authority.

3: He spoke about the blood on His face - how satan mocked His reputation.

4: He spoke about the blood on His cheeks when they plucked out His beard - how satan shamed His traditions.

5: He spoke about the blood on His back - how satan mocked His strength - how Jesus said, when you are weak then you are strong

6: He spoke about the blood on His hands - how satan mocked the hands that made the world

7: He spoke about the blood on His feet - how satan mocked His freedom to go where He wanted to go.

8: He spoke about the blood on His side - how satan mocked the desires of His heart.

Evangelist Jerry Gaffney then asked some men to help him take Jesus off the cross. They carried him to a tomb in the back. Again, when we took him down, the congregation saw the marks on the back of Jesus and gasped at the gruesome reality of the price he paid.

The Lord had made everything in the service so real. Gaffney then said, "I have some good news. I know the end of the story. Buddha is dead. Mohammed is dead. But my Jesus is alive!" As he said the words, Jesus came walking out. He came walking out with Alfalfa, the little black lamb. When the congregation saw Jesus and the little lamb, they jumped to their feet and cheered. Gaffney said, "We have the good news. Jesus did all this for you."

When he gave the altar call, over 200 ran to the altar to get right with God. A little 7-year old girl looked at her daddy and said, "Daddy, did Jesus really do that for us?" He said, "Yes, Honey." She then said, "Then, we must go down and get saved."

One of the men who worked for the press fell on his knees and gave his heart to Jesus. One of the ministers in the meeting spoke with him for 45 minutes. The reporter said, "I have been to many church services. I have been to Jewish services, Buddhist services and other Christian services, but this is the clearest presentation of the gospel of Jesus I have ever seen. I have a lot of thinking to do."

Another cameraman from the press fell to his knees and could only say, "Oh my, oh my, oh my." The evening news blasted across the airways, "Alfalfa lives, and we learned sin is very expensive." It was the lead story for two days. They showed Jesus in a good way, not a bad one. They talked about our Jesus. They talked about the price of sin. They talked about the need for a Savior. It was in the newspapers, "The lamb lives, but sin is very expensive."

The news media was broadcasting the good news about Jesus. Over 2 million heard the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Gaffney said he could think of no better way to give the glory to Jesus than this. Are people still upset with him? Has he been persecuted and falsely accused?

Gaffney said, "the Word says when they revile you and persecute you, rejoice and be exceedingly glad. What was the fruit? We baptized over 40 people in water Easter Sunday night. Only 27 were scheduled, but 13 more wanted to be baptized, even though they had no change of clothes. The last Sunday night, we baptized another 20. What was the fruit? Over 220 people had signed a 24-hour prayer, praise and intercession clock. That is 10 people per hour 24 hours a day, either praying, worshiping or interceding for revival in the land."

NOW HERE IS THE MIRACLE. Somehow, the word got out that Jerry really was going to kill the lamb. Even though the Pastor put out a press release at 4:00pm Friday saying the lamb would live. Even though Channel 4 put it on their web-site that the lamb would live. Even though Gaffney never said he was going to kill the lamb, there are people today that still believe he did.

We had the whole state God-concious for about 3 weeks. It is not time to stop, but time to charge! Gaffney wants to say: "To my brothers and sisters in Jesus, please, invade the heavens for us. Victory is at hand! Everyone was talking about Jesus right then.

Who will stand with us this Easter season and pray for a mighty move of God?

Who will stand with us and pray for revival in our churches, towns, states, our nation and the world?

Is there anyone who still believes Jesus wants revival again?

Please login and just say hi. I miss so many of you. I just can't explain it but there is such a burden on me right now for the Lord to touch us with a World Wide Revival. I would consider it a great favor if you just said Hi.

I do hope you enjoy the video and the TV new articles.

Pastor Jerry,
I am soo glad you had reposted this message! It is in due season again!

I hope many, many people would get their priorities right, right in their life, and right with God. I really do pray they will...

The truth is even more shocking than many want to believe. You are right SIN IS EXPENSIVE! It will take you farther than you want to go, and cost you more than you want to pay!

Awesome post!
Semper Fi!
-Bill

Father God, thank YOU for the perfect, once and for all, atoning blood of YOUR Son - Jesus Christ! Lord, show people the wages of their sin - convict their hearts with every deed that needs to be covered in the Blood of the Lamb! Set our priorities in-line with YOUR priorities, and lead us all into Holy repentance. Let there be a Love for people, and not a vengeful heart for the sake of animals. Bring us back to where we were in the Garden of Eden! Turn people's hearts back to YOU! And may YOUR WILL be truly done here, on Earth, as it is in Heaven - in Jesus name - Amen!!!

BTW It's 11:11 - Praise God!!!

I remember the news Bruhaha here in Washington, even my kids were concerned about the Lamb! I told them that if Jerry is doing it and Randy (a friend of ours) was helping him then they could rest assured that the Lamb would not die. We did not have a way to get to the church on that night but we did watch the news panic. I can honestly say that even though my daughter had worked with Randy Bach on stage props and effects before, I think she still feared the Lamb would die!?! The relief on her face was palpable! She did ask a few questions about why the fuss though because the news we watched did not cover the rest of the story and she did not get a chance to watch the real LAMB and hear the explinations of His wounds. I am going to try to get her to watch the video so she can see what really happened.

Thank You for posting this Jerry.

It's amazing to me how an animal can get more compassion than a human life.

I heard the people screaming "Don't kill the lamb!"

I wonder if you did a sort of "realistic skit" and took a group of people into an abortion clinic and had a pregnant woman walk in...what would happen? It is so acceptable that you probably couldn't even gather a crowd.

How many people would cry out to save that baby?

I know your point was to get across Jesus being the ultimate sacrifice, but my mind has been on the sanctity of life...a lot lately. I guess this Terri Schiavo issue has struck a cord with me.

Did you see any of the videos?
If you did what did you think of them?

Jerry you are as awesome as ever.

About the newscast, all I can say is mmm mmm mmm!

Of course you weren't going to kill the lamb! You were just using it to scare people to make your point. The cost of sin is expensive. It cost Jesus his life, and people need to know this. I stand in agreement for revival in America. I just made a donation to the American Center for Law and Justice to help protect our right to worship and practice Christianity in America without being persecuted.

By the way, Alfalfa is so cute.

God Bless You Jerry!

..Brother Jerry, Father in his heart's request that you, by the power of the merciful gift of your Holy Spirit, call to you and to us who have already become one with your Son, - a new wave of sons that have ears to hear what you have spoken of - from long ago - That God in Christ was reconciling the world to Himself.

Please call us to new awareness of the precious blood that was shed for our sins - the price you were willing to pay to redeem us from the curse of sin, and the awesome opportunity we have as ambassadors of your good will toward every kind of people on earth.

May it be so that we can not resist the tugging in our hearts to worship and speak of your glory in you wonderful Son.

In the Awesome Name of Jesus I pray...

I AM BELIEVING FOR A MIGHTY MIGHTY MOVE OF GOD ON THIS NATION SOON! TODAY IS NOT TOO SOON EITHER!

Definately praying for a revival and agreeing with you. I wish you could do something that dramatic on a larger scale, and maybe even on the steps of the White House, or the streets of Hollywood, or in a Las Vegas Casino...

We can all call CNN and Fox and spread the news for you.

HEY, you know on the jewish calendar passover is around April 22nd...maybe u can do it again then! That would be awesome.

Anyway, always in prayer for this nation and the peace of Israel. God bless!

Ace...

I think that varying cultures play a great role in interpretation too. I can assure you that no one was worshipping the lamb Alfalpha (however u spell it's name), or the actor on the cross, therefore neither were graven images. Jerry was using this to illustatrate the importance of what Jesus did for us. I think that when you heard or read that Jerry kneeled at the feet of the man on the cross you took offense. I am sorry that offended you. I don't know how to explain that except to say that it was only imagery, all an act. Jerry's intent was not to make people worship the actor, only the man he portrayed. I had this discussion earlier with someone who asked how this was different than the Catholics believing the Pope represented Jesus here on earth. It is different because this actor and the people seeing him KNEW he was not the Christ. And about the lamb, people in other countries would see nothing wrong with slaughtering a lamb...people here in this country would rather save an animal than a person, I know it sounds crazy but that is the truth. The lamb was a dramatic effort to get people's attention and obviously it worked. About invading Heaven...no one wants to invade as in starting a war or taking over. When Jerry or anyone else hear says that it means in prayer. All of our prayers can be heard in Heaven and we want so many people praying to God that it sounds like a strong multitude of warriors fighting to get something done. I hope this helps even just a little. God bless you!

His name is Wonderful…
He’s the Great Shepherd, the Rock of all ages. Almighty God is He!

Jerry, I have been so touched by God this Resurrection Sunday. We are now in our third week of revival in our hearts and the hearts of the teens that we minister to. This Sunday as we celebrated the rising from the dead of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we again had 15 kids with us.
We took them to the Morning service in Vancouver, Washington. We fed them in our home and then took them to Rivers of Life where Dan Nolan was once again ministering in the evening service. Our kids were so filled up with the Fire of God. We drove over 150 miles in shuttling these dear ones to and from these services this weekend. God is pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh. We are getting our cups filled to overflowing with the Love of God only to pour it out once again upon those who need God’s Love.

Joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on my menservants and maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days."

My son Andrew has recently turned 16. He has a friend that has been challenging him in his faith for some time over the coarse of a year. Her name is Michelle. She believed in a "higher power" and has even looked into witchcraft. God sent her into our lives to stir us up in our faith. Our wood was wet and we had lost the fire that once was burning within our hearts. We started to once again walk in
the calling that God has for us in working with teens. We started to keep the commandment of Love towards God and man (Mark 12:30-31). Andrew had his birthday party two weeks ago. We had 18 kids in our home. We took opportunity to share the love of God with them and to tell them all about how deep the love of Jesus was in us for them, to tell them that the depths of God’s love could not be measured towards them. A girl named Nikki started to weep and cry out. She has been saved for some time now and is growing in the faith. Her parents have been on the verge of a divorce and there has been in the past a lot of strife in her home. A teen named Fred started to prophesy over her not yet being saved and for the first time ever picking up a Bible he read the scriptures starting with Hebrews 11:1. Her tears subsided, and then Cheryl and three girls went upstairs to our bedroom to pray and to worship. There was a knock on the door, and it was Fred again. Now Fred was someone we knew was very hard headed. Had in the past no interest in the things of God and has a mother who practices Buddhism. He started to raise his hands in praise and worship. The anointing was so strong in the room. It was at this point that I came into the room. Cheryl said that Fred was ready. I took him to a quiet place and asked him what was going on in his heart. In tears he told me that his own parents just recently were about to divorce. He cried out to God and said "God if You are real, please keep my family together". His family remained together in love. He shared with me how he has then been looking in to other religions and now he knows that Christianity is real. I asked him if he understood why Jesus came and what he did for us, sharing with him the scriptures from Genesis to John. He now having the understanding to believe then prayed with me to receive Jesus into his heart. Praise the LORD! We took many teens to church the next day following the party (which was an overnighter).

Two weekends ago we had many teens over again for an overnighter. We shared with them the Love of God once more fed them and took them to church the next day. There was once again an altar call after the service Fred went forward to receive more confidence in the things that he is now walking in regarding his salvation. I was sure that Michelle would go up but she just sat in her chair. The service was over and she turned around, I looked he straight in the eyes and I asked her what it will take for her to know how much God loves her. When will she decide to follow after Jesus? I said that He loves her and will wait as long as it takes. I said that we love her and will wait until the time is right. She has been faithfully coming to church with us now for over a month. Michelle’s parents were having a Sader (sp?) that night and she needed to go home to participate. We all planned to go to a Dan Nolan meeting that night. Russell, you know who that is, he prayed for healing in your back once. Michelle was able to go with us following the Sader. Dan was ministering in the gifts of healing, and in words of knowledge Sunday evening the 20th. The time came when Dan ministered to all those who would go up for prayer. Michelle and my son Andrew together went up as well as all of the others with us. Dan layed hands upon each and Michelle was next. She was the last one on the ground as everyone else was able to get up. My kids and I were praying silently around her and not touching her as Jesus was doing a work inside. Then two spirit filled ladies came to minister to her in the Love of God and she was delivered from a spirit of rejection. I watched her face as this battle in her spirit was going on, I saw when the peace of God prevailed. She prayed with one of the ladies to receive Jesus at once and there were some major tears, and joyful shouts coming from us all.

I am so hungry to see the lost come to Jesus! I am so thirsty to see families Restored! The broken hearted to be healed! I long for the teens to take back the schools for Jesus! I was driving home last night around 8:30 PM and I saw in the spirit myself going into my home and touching my 13 year old daughter Rachel (my little lightning rod) to give her some of the anointing that was in me. Upon arrival I opened the door to enter the house to find the lights dimmed and a circle of eight kids in the front room with Cheryl being still and in prayer as
Cheryl was wrapping up a time of worship with them. I said to Rachel, "come here Rachel I have something for you". As I reached out to touch her she said that the anointing was strong on me and she started to react to it on her body. This anointing went around the room. Joy, laughter, tears, prayers of intercession for other teens and their families. We got so filled up that Cheryl and I had a
difficult time speaking clearly. Cheryl was even drunk in the spirit. It did not end up staying there as we prayed with purpose and in the Holy Spirit. These anointed prayer times with teens in our home are now starting to occur with regularity. God is pouring out His Spirit as in Joel 2:28 like never before in our home. I am so excited about what is breaking forth. I have a creek behind my home about 100 feet away and probably 30 feet below. There are brambles and overgrowth of blackberry bushes in the way. There is so much potential for the
beauty of that small valley to be revealed if it was all cleared up. A month ago I took many of the little kids in the neighborhood with me. I asked them if they wanted to go on an adventure. They were overjoyed at the prospect. We had picks, shovels, loppers, ropes, & saws. I wanted to cut a path to the creek below but there were thorns in the way of us. Were talking 6 foot tall and 25 feet deep. I cut my arms and legs up so much that day. We were determined to get to the water. I want these kids to taste and see that the Lord is good. I want to take them to the Living Water that flows from the heart of God. They are thirsty like never before. I want to give them the Source of all goodness. I want them filled so that they can fill others. There was a young teen watching from the sidelines that is lame in his legs. He has to wear braces on his legs and feet. His hearts desire was to play in the water with us. With some assistance he came down there with us. We are praying that God will heal him and his sister who is deaf (They are moving into the house next door). We did get to that creek. The kids were so excited as they played in the water. Today Cheryl tells me there is a work crew clearing out all of the briars and thorns around the creek. Cheryl spoke over that area that it would be cleared up, that bushes would spring up in the place of thorns, now it is becoming a reality. We are speaking now over the field that God has placed us in. Jerry, your ministry has had a part in helping Cheryl and I to know and experience jumping into the water. You planted seeds into our hearts, you loved on us always. Words alone cannot express the gratitude I have towards you and your ministry. I want to thank you for having a part in our lives. Though you are away physically, in the spirit you are very near. I want you to know that you are on my heart and we will be praying God’s richest blessing upon you. Please hold with us up in prayer for our ministry and we will hold you up as well. Jesus return is nearer than when we first believed.

Blessings and Love, Robert Cyders…

Dear Jerry,

The world indeed needs a revival. When I look at my environment, everyday I see changes - decadent changes - and it pains my spirit.

I am with you in the spirit and in prayers... Go for the revival and may the good Lord guide and give you the grace to do His will for His people. Personally, I ave been feeling a little like wet wood with out that feeling of burn fire - of the spirit - and would not mind a little bit of revival too. Alot of things have happened to me and things are still not going the way they should in my life but I thank you from bottom of my heart for that little church story. Even though a miracle has not happened to me yet...lol, and I know it will if I believe, it has given me a new lease in faith and I just pray that the Lord will show Himself strong and mighty in my life again.

So when you pray...pray for me and all on the board too.

God is with you and may the blessings of His death and resurrection never depart from your life and your family's, amen

Dear Pastor Jerry and Jan,

Thank you very much. I can only say it must be god-inspired!

Dear Lord, please keep Jerry and Jan strong in their mission and help them to win over the hearts of their detractors. Bless them Lord for their deeds in saving people and comforting those who are in distress. Lord I pray for myself too that I may have the strength not to contribute in my own life towards the overwhelming evils of the world. Thank you Father. In Jesus name, amen.

Pastor Jerry, I just saw this article and video after posting how I just lost my temper with my children. My life problems at best are so trivial compared to what is really going on. Thank you for reminding me of how lucky I am that I have a savior that loves me so much, he died for me. THank you for also making me realize that what my husband is doing in Iraq means something too. Thank you Pastor Jerry, you have changed my life.
In Christ's Love,
Lori J.
