Funds raised for 7th grader who suffered stroke

LYNNWOOD, Wash. – There has been an outpouring of support at a Lynnwood middle school Friday for a seventh-grader who suffered a stroke in early March.
Few at Alderwood Middle School can forget what happened to 13-year old Kevin Rhee a month ago. During his PE class, he suffered a stroke after complaining about a bad headache.
As Kevin recovers at Children's Hospital in Seattle, his entire school is rallying to support him through these tough times. More than 700 students, wearing their school colors of red and black, hit the pavement for a walkathon.
"If that happened to me I'd be really scared,” said student Danielle Holstein. “It would be very hard on me. I hope this will help him to get through it easier."
Kevin is an accomplished artist who drew a portait of himself that’s now been made into posters. He is a 4.0 student who moved to Washington less than two years ago from South Korea.
The school says it's so important to have a fundrasier like this one because Kevin’s mother has been by his side at the hospital for the past four weeks.
Alderwood Middle School students carried Kevin's self-portrait.
"It's just that his mom isn't able to work and he needs her there the entire time so he can recover as fast as he can and get back to school,” said student John Vogan.
The school was aiming to collect $2,000 but the faculty is stunned by what the kids have done. They're on track to raise four to five times that amount.
"These kids need to understand that philantrophy is important and it's important to raise money and helping people out, and that's good for them," said Kevin’s teacher, Dorin Manza.
"They're learning how to think globally, but act locally,” said fundraiser organizer Nancy Elder. “And that's a huge thing -- to be able to work in your community and take care of one of your own. that sense of community is just amazing."

Heal this child from all illness
Let his blood flow freely and let all his organs receive the right amount of oxygen.
Jesus let any and all damage from this stroke be healed.

Father God, pour out a miraculous healing for this child today. Restore his circulatory system, the blood, the nerves, the cells, the organs, everything that is in dis-ease or in distress or in rebellion to God. I speak HEALING, complete, total, rapid and manifested into Kevin's body today in Jesus name. Pain, be removed, in Jesus name. Comfort the parents, Father, manifest your light, your love, your glory, your wisdom, your mercy and grace upon them now. Give all the medical people supernatural wisdom and knowledge to know exactly what to do. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!!!
No weapon that is formed against Kevin shall prosper. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, says the LORD. (Isa. 54:17)
