I talked to Theresa today. She talked to Paul earlier, he is in Germany right now. He was shot in the right thigh, the bullet tore up his thigh bone (femur) causing fractures and then went into his left leg, did some damage, exited his body and went into one of his teammates' ankle. They took cover and the teammate performed first aid, applying a tourniquet to Paul's leg, then administering first aid to himself. All the while they were under heavy fire. Paul's leg will be put together with a rod and some braces that look like tomato stakes so his leg can heal. Thank God! Paul's femural arteries were not hit!
All Paul could think about was whether the helicopter would be able to get him before he bled to death. His fear was dying before being MEDEVAC'd. I was so sad for him that he didn't even know to call on the Lord. He was out there with no hope, no faith. He was "jumping with a hay bale". Please continue to pray that someone ministers to him during his time in the military hospital. Please pray that he is free from infection. Please pray that God uses this time to draw Paul to Him and shows him that it was God's grace and not "luck" that saved him! Thank You all and God Bless You! Sharyn |
LORD JESUS my heart cries out for this man! I have been to Iraq and i know how hard it can be espeiacally with out JESUS. Lord i pray you find this man and comfort him and give him a love he has never felt before. Lord i pray you send him a christian servant. Lord also i pray for a hedge of protection around him and keep him safe and give a peace and comfort for this wife and let her know that you have it in your hands.
