My father...

I just don't know what to do anymore. I have warned him so often and told him that he'll go to hell unless he accepts Jesus but he doesn't care.He calls me a fanatic and thinks that he's good enough to go to heaven. He thinks that if there is a God he'll let him in cause my father is such a "good guy" in his own opinion.I have tried to warn him a few times but he did not want to listen he said that I upset him and then he shut me up.
I don't know, unless God does something he'll go to hell and I cannot do anything against it. I don't want to argue with him again cause it makes no sense.

I understand where you are comming from, Fredrick. I've met a couple of people like your father. Some know what waits them , but plain don't care. All we can do is continue at times is to pray for their salvation, and let God show through our goodness and following Him. Perhaps tell him what you know God has done for you..Just your eyes and ears open for oppportunies where he might be more receptive to what you have you say.

Lord, I pray you really work on Fredrick's father to be more receptive to Your Word. Lead him to repentance and salvation in Jesus Christ. May his mind, heart, and ears be opened to recieve Your Son and become a Servant of You. I ask that You do whatever needs to be done to change this man. Guide Fredrick on what to do or NOt do, in helping his father. guide his father to starting down the right path with You. May your will be done. Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that something will touch Frederick's father and he will find the truth and knowledge he needs to understand about what is really important. I pray for his salvation and that his heart and mind may be touched powerfully, in Jesus Name amen.

There is a TV show here called THE WAY OF THE MASTER which uses excellent techniques to tap into the CONSCIENCE of people who think they are 'good enough' without Jesus.

Here is the basic script:

You ask "Do you consider yourself to be a good person?"

Most people will answer YES.

You ask "Mind if I ask you some questions using the Ten Commandments to see if that's true?"

Most people will say SURE.

You ask "Have you ever told a lie? Even a small one?"

Most people will say YES.

You ask "So what does that make you?"

Most people will hem and haw and say something like "It makes me human" or "It makes me just like everyone" or words like it. If they do that, ask them if YOU told a lie, what would that make YOU. Most people will immediately say you're a LIAR. Easier when you're pointing the finger at someone else! HA. If they just admit that makes them a liar, move on.

You ask "Have you ever stolen anything? Even something small? In your whole life?"

Most will say YES.

You say "What does that make you?"

Most will actually say a THIEF.

You say "Jesus said if anyone looks at someone with lust, they have already commited adultery with that person in his [or her] heart. Have you ever looked at a person with lust?"

Most answer YES.

You say "Have you ever used God's name in vain? Spoken God's name as a curse word?"

Most will answer YES.

You say "That's called blasphemy. So by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart and if you have to face God on Judgement Day, do you think you'll be innocent or guilty?" [Saying "IF" here instead of "when" keeps them focused on their conscience so they won't try to argue with you about whether God exists or if there really is a hell and all that stuff that heathens like to bring up].

Most will say GUILTY.

You say "So would you go to heaven or hell?"

Most will say HELL.

You say "Does that concern you?"

If they are not concerned, you can end the conversation here and ask them to please take time to consider what you've talked about, because you care about them and you don't want them to end up in hell.

If they ARE concerned about that, you can ask them if they'd like to give their lives to Jesus at that time or you can ask them to consider what you've talked about and give serious thought to giving their lives to Jesus.

If they still say HEAVEN ask them WHY and most will say something to justify themselves as having a "good heart" or "God is forgiving" or something like that. Then you can tell them they've just broken the SECOND commandment, they've created a god in THEIR IMAGE. They've made God to be what THEY want Him to be to justify themselves.

This show is very interesting and they show actual interviews with people on the street. They talked to bikers, transvestites, drunks, homosexuals, prostitutes, families, satanists, everyone you can think of it seems like. It works pretty well, because it goes directly for the person's conscience and bypassing their mind, where they'd try to argue and debate you. Everyone has a conscience and knows right from wrong.

There are other ways these conversations can turn, but they have answers for all of them. I believe they have their shows online on their website also that you can watch. They are amazing!

I can't give you their website here, but do a search for WAY OF THE MASTER and you'll find it. The two preachers are Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron.

My dad is even worse. He won't even discuss God or the Bible and in fact, mocks both often. Since he is my dad, he knows all the right buttons to push and I end up getting upset, so I just don't talk to him about that any more. I just pray for God to do a work in his heart and leave the rest to God. You might have to do that too, Fredrick.

Lord please help Frederik's father to turn his life over to You. Lord I pray that you will interveign in his life in a miraculous way and he accepts Jesus as his saviour. Lord allow this man to live Your Will for his life. In Jesus name I pray
