Mold

I need your prayers saints! Due to health reasons I had to move from a condo I own and downgrade from a senior position to a part-time, newbie position. I am still blessed with a good job, just not the same finances.

My condo is a bottom unit which had a leak coming through in the ceiling from the unit above. The previous owner's daughter handled the management of the unit while her mother was in a rest home. Her daughter, Dorothy, wouldn't take care of managing her units properly, but was very good at collecting rents.

A chrisitan man and wife (Wayne and Jamie Melton), team helped me move, even though they didn't know me. They recommended a couple of christian roommates for the unit, which has been great until this problem with the ceiling in the bathroom. Wayne, a contractor by trade, came by, opened it up, took pictures, gave concise instructions on fixing it and verifying it is the responsibility of the owner of the unit above.

I contacted Dorothy about it. She said she'd talk to her people about it. It has been about a month and now we're told her mother died one week ago and she is in the midst of taking care of the arrangements and the unit isn't her responsibility anymore, but her niece's (who inherited it on the death of her mother), responsibility.

I was notified by the girls today that the mold is causing serious health issues for one of the girls who has had to stay somewhere else paying rent, wants reimbursed for all the sanitizing she's having to do regarding her clothes, towels, bedding, sheets and that she has to throw her mattress out and get a new one. I, of course, will do that. She also gave her notice because she can't stay there in this situation.

I called Dorothy who told me about her mother dying, etc. and that her niece will be over tomorrow morning and she will give her my number then. I told her my tenants gave me their notice to move regarding this situation, but she has her worries and can't be bothered anymore about it.

I forwarded the email I received from my tenants to Wayne Melton and told him my situation with Dorothy. I asked him to please help. Does he know of someone that can take care of the problems asap?

My prayers: Wayne will have the connections to take care of it or will do it himself (he had the knowledge and ability). The girls will stay. The niece (Julie Ray) will pay, without argument or delay, for the fixes and reimbursements to Tammy. For Tammy's immune system to be strengthened and she be healed of any adverse affects from the mold. That Amy remain healthy and, if Tammy won't stay, that Amy find another roommate so she can stay there.

I am so blessed! I am so sorry for what Tammy is experiencing for the mold and for their inconvenience, etc., but I am grateful my faith and trust in God is keeping me from going bonkers over this . I give Him all the praise, honor and glory in this situation!

Lord- we ask mercy and love be shown for these gals in this situation. Please rectify all problems all 3 are dealing with in this strange position they are in. Lord, bring about the corrections, healing of health problems and resolution to the financial part. In Jesus Name- Amen!!

LORD Jesus and my Father i pray that u send the Holy Spirit to touch all who
involed in this matter may this man step up take care what has to be done
i pray for the lady that had to be removed from her dwelling place my u reach out and touch her Father and i pray that the coast no more than make it under 2gs have grace thier for the poeple that the brundie fell on
and may u use it to show u are in this matter in Jesus name ipray amen

Yes, this is a strange situation. The owner of the other unit's rep has caused a lot of the problems we encounter and then doesn't respond timely or at all to fix them.

Please continue to pray about this, it is a time sensitive issue. I'm losing the tenants for sure if this isn't resolved asap. I am going to pay for it myself and deal with the owners later. Pray the Lord provides the right people to do the job and that He is glorified in the handling of this.

Father, Move in this situation mightily for Your glory. I pray for the right people to come in and correct the molding situation. I pray for the health of Tammy to be restored from the exposure of the mold. I pray that Tammy will stay or that Amy finds a roommate quickly. I pray that Remnant is reimbursed timely by the neice. Thank you all for bringing this situation to The Lord. Tammy has moved out, but she is a wonderful christian woman who I hate to lose as a tenant. She was having mysterious health issues and when the mold (not a great amount, just a small amount in a small area), was exposed after the ceiling was opened to find the leak, well, it really caused her some problems and she realized that may have been the source of her "mysterious" health issues too. I know mold is nothing to mess with and some people are very suspecible to it's danger. So please continue to pray God's divine protection over her health!

Thenew owner of the unit contacted me. She appears to be more interested in other condo business (budgets, meetings, who is who), rather than getting this most important issue solved. Please continue to pray God will not let her rest until she does the right thing, something her aunt, Dorothy, never did. Dorothy was the thorne in my side when I lived there. Her tenants (she collected rents for three units) abused drugs and were very harrassing in ways I'd never believed people could get away with (wrapping dog feces in toilet paper and tee peeing the tree outside my balcony with it, whipping up egg batter and pouring it on my door step and at my garage door drawing ants, trying to break into my place with a key that broke off in my lock when I gone to see my dying grandmother, urine saturating the carpet on a stair on my staircase, cat feces under the stairwell, staining the carpet with hair dye, slamming the entryway door so hard it finally started separating from the door jam, vacuuming at 1:00 a.m. in the morning, running the wasing machine at 1-3 a.m., dog running back and forth at all hours, etc.). Honestly, it was pure harassment and Dorothy wouldn't take care of it. When she spoke with her tenant by phone (she wouldn't come over), he denied everything very calmly and said I was making it up, that I was just a trouble maker. Two of the other owners moved to get out of there because Dorothy wouldn't take charge of her tenants. We now have very responsible tenants in all units. New owners who supported me came in to help.

Anyway, please pray that Julie's eyes be opened to the truth of this situation and not be deceived by the lies Dorothy has been telling her during the "changing of the guard".

Again, thanks for your prayers and, Father, bless these brothers and sisters who stand with us in prayer that the complex will be better for the new owners getting involved. I ask that strife be dispatched and that peace prevail as we communicate together for the good of the complex and it's tenants.

Please continue to pray for Tammy's health... She's doing much better already.

Pray Julie Beadle will do the right and just thing as the new owner of the unit above. Not wishing to delay repairs any longer, I've authorized the work to be done and notified Julie that we will settle up after it's complete. Pray God will give me wisdom, knowledge and understanding when dealing with her and her cousins. I do not wish to come off defensive or , just asking for God's will be done in this entire situation. I am trusting God and delighting in my distress :-)

I am at a crossroads. Needing to decide if I am going to continue to rent the unit out or to sell it and buy a home where I live now. There are pros and cons to each scenerio. I have no clear unction about this.... I'm not feeling as stressed and pressured as I did when this first came about, so I am grateful for God's peace and direction. He has supplied help along the way. Tammy and Amy are such wonderful christian young women, please agree with me in prayer that they will be blessed in whatever they decide to do.

Help me pray that my attitude and spirit remain pleasing to The Lord, honoring Him in all things.

Please pray the damage is minimal to the unit. That the mold, miraculously remained in the initial place, didn't spread and that the people hired to do the work are fair and do excellent work. Pray God will provide a contractor to do the sheet rock work. Pray He blesses Frank Hooper, a person referred to me for the plumbing work as an honest, good plumber, when doing his part of the work. Pray we're able to document the entire situation thoroughly, making it easier to determine liability.
