Are there different kinds of faith?
I mean from looking at the biblical prophecies you can calculate how likely it is that they all came true and from this you can already start to believe in the bible. But isn't this a faith which is simply based on the thought that it's very unlikely that the bible is not true? I mean is this even real faith when you believe in the bible but also say that there is a little chance that it could be different? This isn't biblical faith, right? Then would somebody who argues this way even be saved?

But I don't even know wether I could guarantee somebody 100% that the bible is right. I mean could you guarantee an atheist 100% that the bible is right if he asked you? And what if you can't? Are you not saved if you cannot? How do I know wether I could do this? I could still think what if I'm wrong? And then I guaranteed somebody 100% that the bible is true. Sometimes I think about what if my family became believers because of what I tell them and then in the end I'm wrong and I made them become christians. I know this is silly but I still get these thoughts.
But the bible talks about these things which become real in you, this faith which you have in your heart which is stronger than this "It's very likely that the bible is true" faith. But I don't know if I have this faith. Somebody who for example has seen Jesus can speak which much more conviction than me, doesn't this show that my faith is not real?

The natural mind cannot receive things of the spiritual.

1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus in the Bible wanted to figure things out too. The kingdom of God is not of man's brain but of the Holy Spirit.

Spend more time in the Word and in prayer and you'll see. Ask, seek, knock. Many people don't want to make this sacrifice, but the benefits are well worth it.

Frederik- I've seen enough of God's workings in more than 20 years, plus know God's Word well enough, I could show scripture that could prove God's Word 100% accurate, along with physical evidence if needed to prove it. Not just archeological, literary, but also in witnesses.

As far as faith, we'd already discussed this before. You know the answers to that.

God Bless!!

I think I have a bad memory.

Yes young man- You had asked about faith before and I had showed you how man could have some limited faith of thier own and then faith that is given us once saved, by the holy Spirit.

According to historical records of cities, many a prophecy of God's Word and other such things, there is such accurate proof that those things were true, God has to be totally accurate on that which predates the records we know of outside of God's Word.

Besides, I've seen enough evidence myself, in other's lives and myself, to know God's Word is totally accurate.

My faith originally came from a belief in things I'd seen, from the first 4 years of reading, studying and researching God's Word. From there, I just came to realize a few years later, I had total belief in His Word, about all other things, giving me a faith from the belief in things unseen.

So, you might say there are two kinds of faith, one of which is recieved by things seen, to one which comes from a belief in things unseen. As a "Doubting Thomas" back then, I needed solid tangible proof. God gave it to me.

As said tho, we've talked about this before. God Bless!!

But Jesus said that only a wicked generation asks for signs, or something like that. Is it even allowed to ask for a sign as a christian? Does God grant such wishes or does he say that we already have enough signs?

Where do you get the idea these are "signs"? I consider them evidence of God's Miraculous works and ability within people's lives, not for "signs" as I look at them for something to come, which are already in God's Word.

And archeological and literary evidence I don't see as "signs". What God was showing in the examples you gave asking about signs is the fact religious Leaders against Christ wanted to see miracles or hear Prophecies as "signs" of which is why Christ stated that.

God's Word had already given them Prophecies and "signs" of His coming, but ignored them when He showed up.

God bless!!

Okay, then call it evidence.
Does God give us evidence when we ask for it?

You don't need to ASK for evidence,
just open your eyes!!!!!!

Fredy, Fredy, Fredy- Look young man, just go to national archives of the U.S. and like the Middle East or check for sites under Biblical archeological sites and or literature finds and you will get listings of sites that will show you documented proof of cities found, literature finds and much more.

that is some suggestions. These will show the evidence man has found over the centuries of seeking historical artifacts in the physical aspect.

For instance- The ancient city of Babylon may still be being dug out from the ground. The site of that city that was destroyed by God on a sea coast was found- (can't remember name of it now).

A city that was hewn in the side of a cliff was found- If recall correctly the civilization was known as the Amorites. (Watch the movie called- "Indiana Jones and the last Crusade".) They use that remote location for thier ending sequence in the movie.

Frederik- God doesn't have to give us evidence, He's provided that thru remnants left of His past dealings with His "First Chosen" people. Theres physical evidence found, to prove all the empires in the Book of Daniel actually did rule over the Isrealites and in the order they were given there.

In my mind tho, I have to believe God sent people forth who found much of this evidence as the Church Age progressed, in order to help unbelievers to realize there is mounting evidence God's Word is true and accurate.

God Bless!!

Yes of course, there are many evidences but it's still weird.
It's so hard to grasp that God is out there somewhere, this is a mind thing.
Even though I have heard of great miracles it would still be a totally different thing if I witnessed a great miracles cause in this moment it become tangible and isn't theoretical anymore.

Tip:
Instead of hearing third party experiences, turn off your computer, go into prayer and find out for yourself. God is no respecter of persons, if he'll show himself to others, he'll do it for you. This time, stay quiet long enough to receive revelation. You'll see If you do it, that is.

Frederik,
I just wanted to let you know, that I have seen great miracles before, and seeing them did not increase my faith! It made me Praise God! People's testimonies have increased my faith though...

How does the Bible say that faith comes to an individual?

(The World says: Seeing is Believing!)

But the Bible say something opposite. What is it Frederik?

You know the Word Frederik, give your answer, and make the devil mad!

Your brother in Christ!
Semper Fi!
