Can someone explain to me what the difference is between being saved and being baptised by the Holy Spirit. I was saved many years ago as well as baptised in the Holy Spirit, but now a days many preachers preach being saved and mention nothing about being baptised in the Holy Spirit like the disciples were in Acts...

Being saved or born again is simply confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart that Jesus is LORD. It is being cleansed from your sin and making Jesus LORD and Savior of your life and following Him. You're plugged into God, so to speak.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is when you receive the power to victorious live a Christian life, to operate in the gifts, to perform the miraculous, to be filled with His power and glory and the first initial sign is speaking in your prayer or heavenly language. Now you're not just plugged in, THE POWER IS ON TOO!

The church, especially in America, has for the most part, avoided or ignored or dismissed the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They believe their programs, their projects, their works are enough to please God. Hence, few signs, wonders and miracles are seen here. But Jesus commanded his believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit!! So those who reject this command are in disobedience to God.

Luke 24:49
I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Mark 16:17-18 And THESE SIGNS shall follow those WHO BELIEVE...in my name they shall drive out demons, THEY WILL SPEAK IN NEW TONGUES....

Mark 1:7-8 And this was his message: "After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

Matthew 3:11
"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

For Gentiles, there really is no difference, even tho many religions try to claim this. but, if read in the Book of Acts, you'll find where the two events- recieving Salvation and the "Gift"- Baptism of the Holy Spirit, are one in the same.

Yet, we can also see, where water baptism in those instances can take place anytime for a Gentile, as not required for recieving Salvation. Here are two examples- 1- Jesus explains Salvation to the Jews. 2- Peter explaining it to Gentiles, via Jews.

1- Jesus declared to Jews- "Be baptized for the remission of sins and recieve the Gift of the Holy Spirit."

2- Peter asks Jews with him when Gentiles recieved salvation- "Can we refuse water to those who have recieved the gift of the Holy Spirit just as you or I?

Keep in mind, Christ told His Disciples just before ascending to Heaven-I have many more things to teach you but, I must go, that the "Comforter" may come and lead you to all Truth. Also- from the Day of Pentecost on, they would be able to cast out demons, do miracles in His Name and more, once recieved the Holy Ghost and Power.

God bless!!
