Does the 'Morning After Pill' count as abortion?

Hey,

So like the title says - Does the 'morning after pill' count as abortion?

Based on my limited knowledge of it, I believe that physically it can act in a number of ways:
1)By delaying ovulation
2) Or by stopping ovulation
3)By preventing a fertilised egg from being implanted in the womb

Whilst the first two I view as being a simple contraceptive - does the third effect count as an abortion?

What is the Christian take on this issue?

Well this i know LORD Jesus healed a woman that was married 5 men and the 6 she was with was not her husband. he healed marry who was a **,he also healed the woman of adultry. weather they enjoyed sexs or if it mean of liveing but sex is great and for a season if ur liveing for God then rather not have sex until ur marriged say uare then your luke warm and ur not liveing for God repent and be healed .

morning after pill yes it counts as abortion play with the fire and get burned trust the LORD use it for good babies are a gift.

Not sure. I think it's a better option than risking a pregnancy and having an abortion at a later date.

Leaving the issue the type of relationship it's used in aside. Is it any worse than regular contraception? For instance, supposing a married couple who don't wish to have children yet use it because their regular method of contraception failed- would that be wrong?

From what I've read on the "Morning-After Pill" what it does is trigger a 'spontaneous abortion' AKA miscarriage. If there was no fertilization, then it would cause the woman to have her period earlier. But if there was fertilization and that fertilized egg had a chance at developing into a baby, then, Yes, it is another form of abortion. It's not a D & C, but it is an abortion.
Some hospitals offer the "Morning-After Pill" to rape and incest victims. But it has also been offered as a form of contraception. It has also been used later than the morning after, like when a woman first finds out she's pregnant. Instead of splitting hairs and muddling in the "gray area", we Christians need to take a stand on this. If the purpose of taking this pill is to undo what should have been planned on before intercourse occurred, then it is an abortion. No one plans on being a rape victim and no child willingly participates in incest, so that would be different. But taking a pill after the fact instead of using contraception or abstaining from sex is the same as having a D & C.

If an egg is going to be fertilized and is it is a form of abortion because it then releases the lining causing you to bleed to flush out the new life causing it to be unattached to uterous its an eviction and death of new life. but if no egg is there the sperm is not conecting to make a life once the sperm and egg meet a life has been made and if a married couple doesnt want kids than they can use adoption as an option to not having kids its murder to terminate what you may think is a possiblity of pregnancy God knows each person so intementlly he knows them from each stitch he made them in there mothers womb the morning after pill is not a conctraceptive it pepole are warned not to use it reptivley it is not a form of birth control but a form of at home abortion to prevent a baby from attaching and flushing and bleeding the baby out casing a miscarriage. It is unhealthy to reptivly cause yorself to mis carrie to stop unwanted pregnancies before I was saved I volunterred with planned parent hood they use difrent terms so you feel more comfortable it basically causes your body to miscarrie or think its miscarrieing if no life is there
Ive been reaching out to a neighbor who went to get an abortion they told her they couldnt do it until they could detect a heart beat needless to say she kept the baby after debating adoption if someone doesnt want kids than stay abstent God said be fruitful and multiply and gives children as a gift if someone doesnt want to cherish that gift give it to someone who will. And if your living in fornication having sex out of wedlock or a freind of yours who goes to church claiming to be a follower of Christ I caution you its very dangerous Gods word warns against it that they can not inherit heaven unless they repent which means to stop and turn away from the sin and come to God for forgivness and only marry a fellow Christian I pray you see the light and come to know Gods word that you may want to do his will want to serve him and not him serve you may you willingiy be his bond servant and only want his will for your life and not your own may he use your life to impact others to see Christ who lives in you. and I pray you come to know him in a deeper way.
