If you are praying for something are you suppose to pray and ask God one time or are you suppose to keep taking your need to the Lord? I have heard you pray about and leave it at the foot of the cross. Then I have also heard you are suppose to persue God in prayer.

I have heard the same when i pray i usaly pray once and the LORD answaer it and their other times when i have prayed more than once those time i found it a wrong choices i ve made or somthing i want and it not his will or a friend ask to pray for this or that. And some time we just pray a mist which i do not like. but it i belive like James said pray and belive and not go in our head well he or wont he just belive dont be double minded. but either way the word does tell us to keep asking.

Hello PamB:
I pray this communication finds you experiencing God's best. This is just a note to answer your questions on prayer.
Learning how to pray effectively is one of the most important things a believer can ever do in his or her Christian walk. Really, a believer CANNOT be a success in fulfilling God's purpose in his life if he or she does not know how to pray according to Biblical principals. A believer's prayer life should be based and built upon the Word of God. God's Word has over 7000 promises whereby God has already made provision to meet our every need in 2 arenas, The world of the spirit, and the physical world. It is true that I have seen some people who could not read, just cry out to God, and end their prayers with the name of Jesus, and get results. But I myself Choose to Govern my prayer life with instructions out of the Word of God.
If something went wrong with your computer, who would you call, WENDY'S HAMBURGERS, or, THE MANUFACTURER OF YOUR COMPUTER? The Manufacturer Right? After all, who would better know about a thing than the CREATOR OF A THING? And since God created us, we should seek His OPERATOR'S MANUAL, relative to this CREATION CALLED MAN. Anyway, just for starters, I'll leave you with TWO STEPS to get your prayer life started on the right track, and then I want to encourage you to FIND A BIBLE BASED, BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH IN YOUR AREA AND JOIN IT. SUBMIT YOURSELF TO THAT PASTOR, LET HIM TRAIN YOU AND TEACH YOU, AND SUPPORT THAT LOCAL ASSEMBLY WITH YOUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS. Amen? Amen!
So, STEP NUMBER ONE IS to....Decide want you want from God and be definite about it, and then find you the scriptures that definitely promise you this thing. If you can't find it in the scriptures, you probably don't have any business praying for it. God's Will for our lives is outlined in His Word. If you pray according to the Word of God, He guarantees your need is met. In 1 JOHN Chapter 5 and verses 14 and 15, it is written, "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, HE HEARETH US: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE THE PETITIONS THAT WE DESIRED OF HIM." So, decide what you want from God and be definite about it, and then, find the scriptures that definitely promise this thing. Amen? Amen !
STEP NUMBER TWO IS to.....Ask God for things you want and believe that you have them. The Bible declares in MARK Chapter 11 and verse 24, that, "Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." BELIEVE that you receive RIGHT THEN when you pray. The Amplified version of the Bible says, "When you pray trust and be confident that it is granted you and you'll GET it." YOU'VE GOT TO BELIEVE YOU'VE GOT IT BEFORE YOU GET IT. The State of Missouri is called "THE SHOW ME STATE," And the World system that surrounds us says that, "SEEING IS BELIEVING," But with God, you have to believe first and then you will see, which means that you will have to RENEW your mind to the way that God does business. Amen? Amen!

PamB- God declares in His Word, we are to be in constant prayer. What I normally do is write them down on a list, keep them handy and speak to God all day long about them.
My "praying without ceasing" is like conversation with God all day long. I speak to god about these people and thier situations, thus asking for his intervention for helping them as God knows best.
And I do not stop speaking of such things, or at times as necessary, thinking about them, unless God has shown me He has answered them.
Hope this helps- God Bless!!
