What do you think about "believers" today?

Often times many believers have this spirit called pride because they don't want to reveal different problems that may be going on within their pesonal lives. Some believers get so caught up in worrying about what others may say instead of going to someone and saying they need help in a particular area that they may have been struggling with for a while. Sometimes they may appear as if everything is going fine within their personal lives, they hide it with their smiles, their laughs, their jokes and inside they are torn apart. Often times many believers in the church walk as if they are better than a baby believer and it makes that baby feel like a nobody. Sometimes they look at this person and pass judgement upon them the instant they meet them because they don't have the money that they do, they don't drive the cars that they do, and don't live in the kind of house they do. Why do you think us as believers are caught up in our own selves? Why do you think we tend to look down on the less fortunate? Why do you think we allow pride to get in the way?

Part of the curse of the fall.

First- Forgive me for not seeing this before, or would've posted sooner.
Second- Perfect answer MamaCat.
The fact we are now all equally born in sin from that inheritance passed unto all flesh by one man, we cannot help but any of us, be that way at times.
But, you can see, if look back particularly over the last 30 years or more, out sttitude as such, has been changing for the worst, the longer we'v gone. As a result, so have our morals for the most part.
God bless!!

Part of surrendering to Jesus is coming clean about one's past sins and one's past in general. This involves admitting them to ourselves first. I believe it IS pride and arrogance which keeps us from truly coming clean. Also there is the fear of being judged.
"Do not judge lest you be judged yourselves. For the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it shall be measured to you." (Matthew 7:1-2)
Some people live in a fantasy world. Some feel that since they have not murdered or committed adultery, that they are doing fine. They compare themselves with others who are far worse off than they are and think that this is how God is going to judge them. God is not going to have us and some unsaved, unrepented serial killer standing side by side, holding a clipboard, and checking off our good points as compared to anyone else's sins.
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
Some people believe that if the give money, believe in God, volunteer, read the Bible, and do other good works, that they are better than others.
"Not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:9)
And some people just like to find fault in others. It eases the burden of their own insecurities and shortcomings. Instead of viewing themselves as a child of God, whom God loves- warts and all- they feel they need to tear down someone else who is struggling with his or her daily walk; it makes them feel good to make others miserable. We need to pray for those people. If they get ahold of and start tearing down a baby Christian, that person could be turned from the Lord if they feel that their past sins are not forgiven or that they are not good enough.

I know this is Fellowship and Friendship, but I really wanted to pray about this subject:
Dear God, Thank You for never giving up on us as Your children. Forgive our short comings. Help us be like You and Your word. Romans 14:4 Who are we to judge one another? You know when we fall and are able to make us to stand. Roman 14:13. Help me and Your people to always be on guard so our words and action will not be a stumbling block instead build up others. We cry out for Your mercy, so make us quick to show mercy to others. They may not deserve it, but thank You for not giving me what I deserve instead Your MERCY and LOVE. Thank You for Your transforming power to change hearts. You are preparing Your bride that will be pure and spotless before You. You love Your bride and I believe You will grow her to maturity. Let our faith increase to view others through Your beautiful eyes sweet Savior and Lord.
