Okay, people this has got the best of me. I know somehwer on the computer one can set font bigger. I don't just mean for this site; I mean all print on my computer will be bigger! My Sister told me what to do once. I just can't remember.
Wait! Is it the drop out box, when I double click on the right of the mouse? Maybe.... Let me try that, after I post this.

Finding HIM In 2005

Well, I picked "large fonts" under "Display options," where I can also pick the background for my screen when it opens.... but the font on here is no bigger.
Any other ideas or suggestions? when I use the college computers the print on here is WAY bigger, so why can't I get it bigger on my home computer?

Correction: It was under "Properites," not "Display mode." I used the "Appearance" tab. I picked the font size one and chose "Large fonts." It says that I have "Large fonts" now. HUNH?

Here is all I know, if I reply to a post, I can't chose quick reply because it keeps the font at the automatic size 2 font. If I reply in either the "Quote" or Advanced modes, I can reply in whatever size font I want.
JG's tip was if we type a message and want to change the font size after typing it, press both the Ctrl-A keys to highlight all text and then select the font size you want. That was a great tip to know, I use it all the time. However, I couldn't get it to work in the quick reply mode.
That's all I know.

I know how to change the font on this site to a bigger size, but my Sister says I can set the overall font on my ENITRE computer bigger. Shawn was concerned that too much use of big fonts makes our threads extra long. I was thinking if I could make the overall size on my ENTIRE computer bigger, it would be bigger on here. I know many folks don't make the size bigger, so I still have to read their fine print. Acutally, I had a pschycological reason
: then it would look BIG to me, even it didn't to others. As I said, the college computers have bigger font on their computers, because the number 7 that I used on this site was HUGE over there, to the point of overwhelming. On my home computer, the size 7 font doesn't make as big of an impact as I thought it might. But, as I said, setting my font to "larger fonts" didn't change anything on here. So, what does that affect?
Thanks for the advice, though.

I just did this by setting the font size in my BROWSER to a larger font. Now it's all pretty nice sized. I like the bigger font too for these 'old' eyeballs!
I use Mozilla Firefox, the best darn browser on planet earth. It's free and has a zillion tweaks to play with! Can't post a site where you can go to get it, but you can figure it out I'm sure.

I changed mine through my browser, but it didn't increase the font in these posts! Grrr. It did enlarge fonts other places???

Grrr, too. No, they are the same size in emails, on here and on another website I was just on. I broke my prescription glasses (the template) and I'm wearing $1 store glasses. My old eyeballs, too. Well, 43 years old.
So middle aged.
When I take my glasses off everything sort of blurs over like there is a mist in front of me.

I believe you can hold down the Ctrl key and roll the mouse wheel to increase font size up or down. Yeah, I just did it and it works dandy!!
It doesn't change the actual font typed, it just enlarges it on your computer like a magnifying glass. It stays until you change it.

Here's how it worked for me. If a font is large already, it will go smaller if I press Ctr and use wheel on mouse, like it did on JeriRose's post... it changed her signature from large font to small, like her post. However, the small size of her post never got larger.
On your post mamacat, the one where the type was all large, it all went smaller and back to the large size you had posted, but never got any larger.
So, the small remains small and the larger will go down to the default small size 2, so it doesn't do me any good.
Is that how it works for you. Can you press Ctlr and use wheel on mouse on this post of mine and make it bigger?

I got it to go bigger, but it took a lot of mouse wheel spinning! I suppose there is a better way.....
That's why I always make my font a minimum of 3 here so the old folks like me don't have to squint!!!!

That's why I have to click on quote and change the font size too... I don't want people squinting to read the posts, it's tiring to do that, especially after a long day at work... I find it stressful for my neck and eyes.
I think I am going to try and find some kind of computer screen magnifier. They must sell something like that, that can be stood in front of the screen and magnify the print. I'll let you know if I find something.

I used the "Ctrl" botton and the mouse wheel, but then the mouse won't scroll up and down in the thread. It did make the print bigger for a minute or so, but not in all the posts. Well, let me know if you find anything more affective.
