Where is the difference between believing something and believing in God?
When somebody for example says he totally believes that Michael Jackson is innocent then is this the same faith which you also have in God or is there a difference?

Frederik- I doubt very much this would be the same faith. You can have a faith in people that will be different than that of in God, for the fact we know humans are falable, where God is perfect. God is all knowing, all powerful and everywhere at once, where no human is.
The faith's can be similar, but not the same. God Bless my friend!!

But when I'm totally convinced of something and believe it then isn't this the same faith? For example when I'm totall convinced that I'll pass a test. Is this a different kind of faith?

To the extent it relates to the level the falable human nature can gain or have faith, yes, but we must remember, it still takes faith given by the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit to be able to understand spiritual life and death, to choose Salvation.
Therefore, there is a difference between the limited amount and type of faith people can have on a physical worldly level, yet God's Faith, added to this by the Holy Spirit, transforms this to another type and level we cannot comprehend on a physical level.
God Bless Brother!!
