I wanted to ask everyone's opinion about a discussion my church got into a discussion about: "new age" or hippie/praise creative churches are springing up where you can dance during worship or paint on the walls, like drawing a painting during praise. Some people are agianst it. One guy told me that it would cause distraction and wouldn't be profitable beacuse it would become a "look what I can do" sort of thing during church. He believes that there should be a pastor and a congregation and that is it. Some people said that it is okay because it will bring people who don't like the traditional church bringing in on Sundays. What do you think?
I also wanted to share an awesome new resource for Christians called Christian Connect.
****Off site Link***
Christian Connect is a website for Christians where you can date, make business contacts, accountability partners and friends. This is the only website where you can create and see full profiles. You can start Christian clubs, events, and even post classifieds there… There is also a praise and worship discussion going on..."Vineyard or Hillsong???"
I believe that this is an awesome website and look forward to some fellowship!

i can understand danceing to a point but to draw and write thing on the walls during worship not right to draw the Father our LORD and savoir and the Holy Spirit and to eat the meat the pastor i pray the Holy Spirit with him in study time to teach the word to his flock the Father told us how we should worship in order all things. Just test all thing he tell us just walk carefully

Trina- First of all, God declares for a congregating of his Children for fellowship and praise. but find no evidence in God's Word of the painting on the walls, and as SOG shared, there should be a leadership for directing the group according to God's leading.
The dancing is acceptable, but it's mainly the doctrine they follow and what spirit is leading the group. Satan is the great imitator of God, thus many times things appear to be of God, as paralleling His workings or miracles, yet underlying the surface are the falsehoods that reveal the true spirit of the events going on.
besides, all "New Age" doctrines contradict God clearly enough to show they cannot be of God in one way or another. People need to know and understand God's Word better to avoid being drawn into these false doctrines and events that really only support beliefs in satan or demonic beings as the false gods.
Lastly, if the doctrine(s) taught and actions seen do not coincide with God's Word, it or they cannot be of God, for God declares that all things found in His Word are by inspiration of Him-God, and given that others might believe, but also for proof and reproof of doctrine and profitable for this.
I pray this helps- God Bless!!
