Jehova, or Jehova's Witness?

I hear people say they are christian and speak
about Jehovah God. I have never seen this name
in the Holy Bible NIV, nor KJV? Where does this
name Jehovah come from?
The second question, in this book I've been reading
speaks about the occult of Jehova's Witnesses. I haven't
known much about it but little things; they believe
there is no hell just where you sleep, and only 144,000
go to heaven the rest sleep forever..
Is there a book or information on where I can find out
about this?

Well, Lostseed- According to Scripture, you'll find several versions of God's Name used in His Word. GOD, God, Lord. Here is a short lesson, but pay attention to the titles and how written-
When translated from Hebrew and Greek, the names and titles came out as such-
GOD- Yaweh- this name relates to God's attributes of Grace, love Mercy, justice, etc.
God- Elohim- Relates to God's creative attributes.
Lord- Adonai- This relates to God's attributes of Rulership.
Now... Jehovah was also found used in about 5 references. But, the rest of the 7,000 other references of His Name, refered to the three above.
But... if you want to go more indepth into translations, meanings, etc for this, try going to the Coummunity Room here and look into the Forum called- "Jerry's Lessons. I know first of all, he's given one on this very subject you asked. But also believe I saw one covering the titles of God much further explained than I have here.

Sorry, the editing didn't include the second part I added to it.
About the 144,000 and soul sleep.
1- 144,000- They are the ones supposedly chosen to be able to translate or interprete and preach God's Word.
2- Soul sleep- this pertains to those unsaved, who do not become gods and have spiritual children-(as in another christ and lucifer).
3- Jesus christ to Mormons is a "created god". The first creative act of God the Father. Thus, those who are members of thier religion and participate in thier religious works, supposedly will one day become gods, have celestial relations with a partner and have spiritual children and go thru the identical process they claim happened for earth.
4- If read thru the "Book of Mormon", you'll find Joseph Smith, the originator of that religion sat down with God's True Word on one side and paper on another, and nearly copied God's Word- word for word, but with different characters, going to a different promised land, but with identical events, yet the New Jerusalem will supposedly be put down in the area of North America, not Isreal, even tho god's Word describes different.
5- It has been proven thru documentation, Joseph smith's testimony of being led or inspired by God to find the writings of Mormon and the method used to translate the language are all false. Why? there are four-five versions of his testimony found, all with slightly different detals and descriptions, characters visited by, etc.
6- It had been claimed when I dealt with many of thier leaders, joseph Smith was illiterate. After checking into the era he lived plus the area of America he lived, thats nearly impossible. He lived both at a time and an area, where education was quite popular and the greater population was being educated as youth by that time.

Thats really insightful, I never did know what Adonia ment either =) I did know Yahweh though.. I find a lot of this very interesting in my persuit of Gods heart each day to learn more. and more.
Not so that I can contradict someone elses belief but to have personal
understanding and satisfaction of the mysteries and lies abound in the world.
I will keep reading up on these things, right now Im starting a book called
Joyce Meijer: Knowing God Intimately, Be close to him as you want to be. Im not a big fan of her, but the book was in my house so I think Ill give it a read. I wasnt aware that Jerry had lessons here, Ill check it out =)

You betcha Jesse, just 5 doors down from here in this same Room. To be honest, thats how God started me researching this stuff. My search for the Truth. Little did I know, He'd start out with cult followers first coming to me, then Bible discussions, then Bible Studies, classes, etc about them.
As I went along, God provided more people with more questions about more religions. And that is as they say, how that came about. Granted, I certainly don't know all there is to, about any of these religions, but have been taught enough by God, to have been able to see them leave unable to support thier false beliefs.
It can be very exciting for those willing to spend the time researching such stuff. Particularly when start delving into thier historical backrounds. It's also wild to start seeing how they were beautiful imitations of satan, to God's Word, when start noticing the Scriptures they based false beliefs, writings or other on.
Actually, I wouldn't mind doing that full time for God, as I've studied Cult and Christian religions both and all are very interesting, of which I'd taught about in the past.
