what is the christian perspective on multiple personalities?

How would a christian explain them?
And what are they? Are the a protection mechanism from God or rather demonic? And what are the other personalities? 
I know what secular psychology says about them but this doesn't interest me.

Remember the story of the young man Christ delivered from the "legion of demons"?
I've heard some Christian Ministers in sermons claim a figurative or symbolic type explaination for this, claiming Christ did not cast out demons, but healed the man of- "Multiple personality disorder".
A lie of satan. Having become a psychology major from studying a wide variety of documented cases from the above, to possessions and more, I can only say this- multiple personality disorder falls right inline with activities that go on in casses of possession.
I am by no means a professional or certified psychologist, but the evidence speaks for itself. And you know what we spoke of in the past about a person's personality. How it can not ever change, being it originates from the soul- spirit intellect, not the physical brain.
If a personality change in someone is seen, it can only be from another spirit having control over that physical body, clearly showing another spirit's intellect is causing that brain and body to think and act totally different than normal.
I've also noticed, in some cases, it's not like the whole demeaner of the person has changed, but the thinking and speaking. Where in others, the whole person, as in thinking and actions have changed. This would suggest a level of very strong demonic influence compared to out right demonic possession.
It's interesting to speak with Pastors who've had direct dealings with this situation, from being assigned to mental wards and more, for that part of thier training. I myself in past cases had been refered to one, who refered me to another with more extensive experience in that area for guiding my direction in dealing with such things.

But very often the mutliple personalities are pretty young depending on when the incident happened which caused their existence and they also have own names. Why should demons play such a game and claim that they are another personality of a human?
For example when somebody was molested as a child he might develope multiple personalities and this personality may be totally different than the person itself. It may be worse or even better than the real person or maybe more sensitive because of what happened to the person. Why should a demon fake something like this? This doesn't make much sense to me. When a demon manifests then he manifests as a demon and not as a person.

Dear Boy- read the examples of possessed people in God's Word. You'll find demons have been ones of suicide, speaking demons, tormentors and much more. Satan is known as the great imitator.
How do you think psychics- Mediums, claim a spirit of a dead person can speak thru them to a loved one? It's a demon imitating that dead loved one, be it child or adult.
In those cases tho, theres usaully signs people catch onto, to notice many times it wasn't thier child or loved one speaking to them as a spirit.
Sibil, is a good documentary film based on that woman's life struggling with multple personality disorder. Every time another spirit took her over as a personality, not just her thinking, but movemenets, actions, way she dressed etc all changed drastically.
Satan and his demons look for weak points in us, to gain more influence, then control, and eventually, if not stopped- possession. If something traumatic happens to a child and psychologically scars them seriously, it can leave an inadvertant open door for satan or his demons to gain considerable control to possession of a person.
It greatly depends on each individual person, how they react to things that happen, according to what they can handle and what they cannot.
Forgive me Brother, but asking why demons would play such a game is pretty dumb. Just as satan, demons are here to kill, steal and destroy us. You knew that my friend.
We are God's creation for one thing. And Second- We are made in God's Image. and Third- He loves us above all other living creatures.
Now, does that make more sense Brother?

Yes it does.
But I don't understand one thing. Why do traumatical things which happen to people open doors for demons? Imagine an innocent child experiences something traumatic which is already bad enough and then it also gets demons. 
Why does God allow this? Why is there no protection?

You know the answer to that one my friend. You and I cannot comprehend all the reasons why God does or does not allow them in every case, for the fact He has knowledge and thus wisdom, that spans way beyond what you and I can fathom. Just remember my boy, He does it rightceously, for who He is.
