forgiveness

I would like help with being a more forgiving person. I have several issue that I'm struggling with because I can not seem to forgive the people who have hurt me deeply. I have prayed about it on many occasions but my feelings have not changed. Please pray for me that I may overcome these issues and move on. You never forget but you can forgive. I can not seem to do either.

Forgiving is an act of will and even though you 'feel' like your feelings haven't changed you are doing the right thing by speaking out forgiveness.
When someone wrongs you, pray, bring them before the Lord and say out loud that you forgive them. This is obedience to God and even if you don't 'feel' forgiveness, you have willed it and prayed it. Everytime you think about these people in a bad way (even 100 times!), remind yourself that you have forgiven them before God and then start thinking about other things.

If we waited until we 'felt' like forgiving people I don't think any of us would EVER forgive anyone else!!. Its to do with will, not feelings and I can guarantee that the more you practise this discipline it will get easier!.
Everytime you have a negative thought about someone who has hurt you, remind yourself before God (preferably out loud, ie speak it) that you have forgiven them and you are moving on from this issue.

If someone is in your past who has hurt you, should forgiveness to them back into the past and this will release you in the present.

God knows that we struggle with this and he will honour your efforts to do this.
