Bless your heart Christylynne, God honiors your prayers ..it goes up before him like sweet incense, a when we cry out and praise him in our most difficult situatons it is then that our worship is most effectual...sometimes we pray and pray and we think that God is not listening but God has a plan and a purpose behind eveything and a we have to remember that all things work together for good to them that serve the lord and are called according to his purpose, remember Job lamented "But if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him. When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him. But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold", persist in your prayers ...the Lord will not hide his face from you always, but he will shine his marvellous light upon your life and his blessings will overtake you. God Bless you.
Ps 42.8
By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me- a prayer to the God of my life.

Matthew 7:7-8

Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks.

We need to be persistent in seeking God's will. If you feel comfort when you pray the same prayer, then I would see nothing wrong in that. We are called God's children and I know when my kids were small and really wanted something from me, thier Father, they would ask me over and over and over and I finally would give in, if it was good for them that is. Sometimes I would say later or say no. Keep praying and wait upon the Lord Jesus until he says no, later or ok My child! God bless you. The LOrd's prayer is a good model to base your prayer upon and to just speak what is in your heart as any earthly child does to thier parent that loves them without any fear of approaching them.

I feel God wants and expects us to ask him for what we want and need. Although he could just give it to us why should he when he's already given us so much. Just as a child would go to it's Father or Mother and ask for something God wants us to go to him and say, "Daddy I want". There is absolutely nothing wrong with verbalizing our wants and needs to God. I'll even ask for specifics! However, where we as human beings make mistakes is when we go to the cross with all of our baggage and lay it at Jesus' feet and say Lord I can't handle this take it from me and fix it we have a tendancy to pick up the same baggage and carry it back with us. When we give something to God we need to leave with Him so He can fix it and not continue to try to do it on our own. I know at times I myself have asked for God's help and then continued to do it my own way only to find that I had created a mess which gave God more to do. Everyday is a learning experience and we control freaks have a hard time giving up control to God. I'm still learning and pray that I learn everyday more and more how to let Him do His will without my interupting Him.
