I GOT A JOB!! Thank You, Jesus!

Check this out: a friend from church called me about a month or so ago to tell me of a government job position working here on Fort Campbell in the on-post school cafeteria. She knows me from working in the church kitchen and we talked about my working 2 years in the school cafeteria on Fort Carson Colorado. So when she heard of the openeing, she thought of me! Well, I went down and applied for the position and asked about janitor's positions as well, since I also worked as a janitor on Fort Carson. I applied for a janitor's position cleaning day care classrooms. I was called about the janitor's position, the pay is about $5 less than the cafeteria supervisor's position. I said a quick prayer on the way to the interview. I felt I wasn't considered for the cafeteria supervisor's position because, well, I didn't qualify I think they needed someone with more experience.
I went to the interview for the job and explained 1) I have a 5 year old who comes home on the school bus and I have to be there for them to let him off the bus 2) at least once a month I have to be at church at 3 pm to cook church dinner on Wednesday night and have church classes that night 3) I don't work Sundays 4) Tuesdays is Girl Scouts and I have to be able to drop my daughter off at her meetings.
The interviewer was cool with all of those "demands" and hired me on the spot!!!
I have been filling out paperwork all month. The stack of papers was about 1/2 inch thick! I answered questions like "Have you ever filed bankruptcy?" "List all the places you have lived over the past 7 years, including names of people who can verify you lived there" "List all the jobs you've held for the past 7 years and supervisor's names" "List all of the schools you have attended since Junior High and names of people who can verify you were there" HOLY SHMOLEY!! I didn't fill out this much paperwork to become a foster parent!!
I had to have 2 TB tine tests, they took 3 tubes of blood, got fingerprinted, and I had a full physical! I'm wondering if I need a Top Secret security clearance for this job! LOL All in all it has been fun!

I have in-processing tomorrow. I'll let y'all know when I start!

Unbelievable!
I usually tell folk to mention needs once the job is really theirs...
But when its a "God Thing" and its meant to be.

This gets better!
Today I went for in-processing. This job has benefits!! I have a 401(K) and a retirement, paid sick days, vacation, paid holidays. When my husband retires from the Army, I can pick my family up on health insurance and life insurance (right now, I declined them because we are covered by the military) One person I was supposed to in-process with was out, so I could not finish in-processing- I get paid for today!! How sweet is that??

Our church is collecting for the building fund to build a new larger sanctuary. I am going to pledge my first paycheck.
