Quit Smoking

My husband is in bed sick again with a respiratory problem. It's a relapse from something last month.
He's had other serious previous health issues, and was told that smoking is killing him.
As we spoke today he says that he wants to be free from this addiction and so I agreed in prayer with him.
He said he would like it if I could ask you to agree with him to be free.
Father God,
I lift up Randy to you and ask that you free him from this addition.
Help him to make good choices to stay healthy and strong.
Give him distaste and even hate for this addiction that is only harming him. Thank You that you can give him the strength to resist.
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Grace I'll pray for your husband about this. I've been through it and quit many years ago. They say that giving up smoking is one of the hardest habits to give up. But I'll tell you that what a difference it meant when I asked the Lord for help then when I tried to do it on my own. It is so worth it though. Tell him to focus on how much better he's going to feel. He'll be able to breath and not get out of breath again! Back when I quit they didn't have patches. It's kind of rough to go cold turkey, but I have no doubt that the Lord can calm his nerves and give him peace through the process. It was such a marvelous peaceful feeling I had of strength when I finally gave it up.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that You will bless Grace's husband with the strength of mind, body and spirit to make the resolve to quit smoking. Heal him of these cravings and desires and help him to fight this battle and win. Bless Grace and her husband with every blessing they stand in need of in any aspect of their lives. Heal her husband from this distress and suffering he is having. I pray in Jesus Holy name amen.

Lord- We pray for this addiction to be broken from this man. We ask that bond be severed and a hedge of protection be put around him, with restoration and healing of his body from this affliction and it's results. In Jesus Name- Amen!!

Father, I thank you for another opportunity to trust Your Word. I do thank You, My Father, that Your Word declares in ISAIAH Chapter 55 and verse 2, that, "Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not?," in the name of Jesus, and it goes on to say in 2 CORINTHIANS Chapter 10 and verses 4, 5, and 6, that, "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; AND HAVING IN A READINESS TO REVENGE ALL DISOBEDIENCE, WHEN YOUR OBEDIENCE IS FULFILLED," in the name of Jesus, So I pray my Father that GRACE'S husband will stop spending money on cigarettes, and also, I pray that many more board members WHO DO NOT SMOKE, will stand in faith with GRACE'S husband, in Jesus' name.

I want to thank everyone for all the prayers and advice.
When I married my husband, I know he smoked and that was ok because he's still a wonderful person. I've not tried to change or mother him because it wouldn't help. (I like that he is very loyal or sometimes bullheaded...Opps! I meant persistant ,Maybe, that persistance will help him quite.)

Your advice of positive ways to encourage him will be very helpful.

It's the health issues that concern him so I know this will be affective.

God gives an assignment and a season to complete His assignment for us. It is unfortunate that some of our assignments are not completed because of health issues. Shorten longevity hurts the Kingdom and the heart of God. Because, Gods -His own remorse is that there aren't enough laborers, for the Harvest is plentiful (poluvß/Polus, many, much, large ) and the laborers are few (ojlivgoß, little, small, few of number: multitude, quantity, or size , of time: short , of degree or intensity: light, slight ) Luke 10:2Therefore said heuntothem, The harvesttruly is great,but the labourers are few: pray yetherefore the Lord of the harvest,that he would send forthlabourersintohisharvest.
