What do you think of this prophecy?

A prophet visited the church of somebody I know and he told me that this guy said that five percent of the entire population of the world will die of the bird flu!
And he also said that earthquake and storms are coming to Germany.
This scares me.
Are christians equally affected by this?

Well, I wouldn't bet anything on it. That could just be speculation. I have never heard of a "bird flu" before, that doesn't mean it can't happen.

As far as earthquakes and storms, thats possible. Jesus declared in His list of "last day" signs, earthquakes and other environmental disaters would happen more frequently and in diverse places. We've already witnessed many storms in diverse places not recorded before or centuries apart, besides thier greater intensity and type happening more often now.

Is it a safe prophesy to speculate that 5% of the world's population has AIDS or some kind of compromised immune-system deficiency? Is it also a safe speculation to say that at least 5% of the world's population lives in poverty or other depressed condition where proper sanitation and healthy food is non-existent? Is it also a pretty good chance that 5% of the world's population does not have adequate health care or access to adequate health care? Is at least 5% of the world's population comprised of the elderly and young children?
Absolutely. Does that make me a prophet? Absolutely NOT! I'm not even remotely a late-night TV psychic. Here's another tidbit- 48% of the survey statistics are MADE UP on the spot! Did your friend see a prophet? Yes. A FALSE PROPHET. A BS artist. A scheister!

The news has really been hyping up this "bird flu" mutated strain of the flu virus. I personally think it's a vehicle to cause panic and make people go out and get flu shots. Then they can create a "shortage" like last year (to drive up the price) and people will panic and wait on line for hours to get vaccinated with a virus they may or may not encounter naturally. They make a pandemic and then when the shock wears off, the big scary bio-hazard seems to disappear.

Wasn't it 3 years ago there was that huge flood in Germany? Weather patterns are changing and it is quite possible that Europe will get hit by some kind of natural disaster. But before you go running around yelling, the sky is falling, where do YOU stand with the Lord Jesus Christ? If the earth opened up and swallowed up your town tonight, where would you go?

You don't watch alot of TV News do you Brian?

The 'Bird Flu' is a real and current threat. At this time 50% of the people who get the 'Bird flu' die.

There have been cases all over Asia.

There are cases of 'Bird Flu' in Canada and the USA.

It is feared by the world health organizations that the 'Bird Flu' may become pandemic this year.

There is no vaccine yet.

The only vaccine is Faith in Jesus and His healing power.

There is no reason to fear either 'Bird Flu' nor earthquakes etc when you believe in God, He always takes care of His Children.

It all depends on where you put your faith... Man and his vaccines or God and the salvation, healing and deliverance of His Son... As for me and my household, We Will Serve the Lord.

And Yes Frederick, it is that simple.

The "Bird Flu" is a big thing these days but Carol is right who are we going to trust? My answer is Jesus I mean ok what if one of us gets it and dies. Here is my reply "Phil 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.KJV." There is no sting in death Christ took it. I refuse to worry about it when God wants me home he will call me and although I want to raise my children I will be ready. God knows what is best and I am leaving it all in his hands and so should the rest of God's children. My husband talks about this "Bird flu" so much and all I can say is I don't care cause I am not going to worry about that. This sounds to me like a fear tactic of the enemy to get us off the path and not focusing on the real things God wants us to.

I heard that Benny Hinn said that the time for Europe has come!
What does this mean? This scares me.

I mean what if Jesus comes back and I'm left behind?

It means that you weren't right with the Lord! But you CAN BE! And it is as easy as A-B-C

A- Admit you are a sinner. No gray areas, no "what if's" sin is sin is sin is sin.

B- Believe. Believe that Jesus died for your sins!

C- Confess. Confess your sin to God. Then repent and TURN AWAY from your sin. No 10 hail Mary's, 5 Our Fathers, and go back and continue doing what you were doing. TURN AWAY.

The time for Europe, and the whole rest of the world, is NOW! There is a spiritual war going on. Look at your neighbor- France. France THOUGHT that by refusing to join with the U.S. in toppling Saddam that they were safe from terrorist attacks. Who is doing the rioting in France? Muslim youths and young men. How safe does France feel now?
No one is safe. But we cannot panic and hide. Jesus IS the ANSWER. Jesus has what no man on TV has. Jesus CAN do what doctors, the World Health Organization, or socialized medicine cannot do. Only Jesus can comfort us when the world is out-of-control. Only Jesus can take away our fears. Only Jesus can heal and protect. TRUST JESUS.

Just a couple of things I do -
-speak Psalm 91 for yourself, biological and spiritual families;
-instead of spending time "worrying" spend time just praising and worshiping the Lord.
-We can't do anything about the bird flu, earthquakes, etc. except to ask the Lord to have mercy and grace on us and believe that the Lord has everything in control.

Akabezalel, you know I've been living out of my truck or without TV for over 4 months now, so no, I haven't heard anything about that flu.

Secondly- Frederik- I suggest you do as we have all been telling you, read and study God's Word. If you are not sure you are saved and reborn, drop to your knees and seriously from the heart admit you are a sinner, have sinned and seek god to forgive you for that. Ask Jesus into your heart to change it. Then confess you believe in your heart Jesus died for you and rose again from the dead to pay for your sins and accept him as your Lord and Savior for that.

Then you will know for sure, if from the heart, you won't be left behind.

Oh man,
I have prayed this prayer more than once.
But this doesn't mean that I now have this booming feeling which tells me that I won't be left behind. Why should I feel super safe when the bible speaks about the foolish virgins which were left behind? Were they not also christians?

Frederik-

Are you not getting prepared by learning what you can already? Are you not working hard to learn and understand God and His Word for us better? Are you not watching and waiting for Jesus' call to His Church- the "Body of Christ" as well?

If you are saved and reborn, you are one of the few I know of, who are truely seeking more of God and from God than most I've come across over the years. Do not worry so much. You'll be alright.
