this time of the year (holiday's) i remember the times with my family growing up and all that we did together . going to granny's house and my cousins comming over and how we would play and play.and after becomming an adult(i have never grew up,
.) when my wife and son would go over to my mom and dad's house we made even more memories.i have lost both my parents, and i really miss them ohh to have momma cook a thanksgiving meal i really loved to sit and watch her and i did enjoy eating such sumptous food i learned from her,, and my love of cooking comes from her but ohhh to have them back for just one more day !! this is when i rely on God's word and promise and i know that they are not in my past, but in my future!!amen i can enjoy my memories and im still making some that will remain with me for the rest of my life but i just cannot wait till the trumpet blow's and we have our 1st. thanksgiving with all our loved ones and friends who have gone on before.. that makes each day a joy to be in God's hands and in service for Him.!!! it is my prayer that if the holiday's are a sad time for you remember we are only here in this world but for a short season rely on God and every day will be filled with peace and a joy that knowing heaven is just around the coner.!!! God bless you each one and ""HAPPY THANKSGIVING""

What lovely thoughts Ron. Thank you for sharing them and starting this thread. I feel the same as you do. Both my parents have passed away and what I wouldn't give to have one day with them again. I especially think of this Thanksgiving holiday as I now live in Norway. But yesterday we bought a turkey. I remember the many thanksgivings we enjoyed through the years. I thought no one could cook the way my mother could. My older brother used to come over for Thanksgiving dinner and often would hide a tape recorder and tape our family conversations as we enjoyed our dinner and one anothers company. Such wonderful memories they are and the wonderful smells though the house of turkey cooking in the oven. I too look forward to the day when we all meet again and can make another turkey dinner!
