Do you have this?
I have no clue how I can imagine this.
How do you know you have it?
Is it a feeling or a voice?
What is it?

I have no clue what that means. Where'd you hear it and in what context was it used? We can go from there.

It's in the bible.

Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

One of the things we are told by both our pastor and our Sunday school teachers is to read the verses preceeding and proceeding the one that is stated. This being said:

"So then, Christian brothers, we are not to do what our sinful old selves want us to do.(12) If you do what your sinful old selves want you to do, you will die in sin. But if, through the power of the Holy Spirit, you destroy those actions to which the body can be led, you will have life.(13) All those who are led by the Holy Spirit are sons of God.(14) You should not act like people who are owned by someone. They are always afraid. Instead, the Holy Spirit makes us His sons, and we can call to Him,"My Father."(15) For the Holy Spirit speaks to us and tells our spirit that we are children of God.(16)" (Romans 8:12-16 New Life Version)

This deals with conviction. As saved people, we are accountable morally and spiritually. When you become a saved person, your old self dies away. Like the song by Reliant K "Who I Am Hates Who I've Been". Being a child of God means being free. Not free to go out and act like a knucklehead and do whatever. It's the freedom that comes from serving a living and loving God. The freedom of knowing that the ways of the world do not hold us. It's getting off the merry-go-round of the same ol' same ol' and living for Jesus. It's knowing that your worth in this world is not summed up by the car you drive, the money you have, the education you have, the house you live in. It's knowing that your treasure is in Heaven and that through the blood of Jesus and Him alone, you have eternal life!

So you mean the witness is about sin and not being children of God?

Then why does the text say it?

Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Posted by: GODS Grace

Frederick,
You remember that who He loves he disciplines.
He loves me alot, how about you?

Another scipture is:
The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and righteousness.(the sons of God)

So you are both correct!!! Grace

I think your original question pertains more to feeling and spirit. It is the sense of Christ within us, as when we are saved the Holy Spirit literally enters us and changes us. Our old selves pass away.
When I returned to God after a long long absence, I didn't feel the change right away, though I felt as if a large weight were lifted off of my shoulders... But now, two years later, I do see an immense change in who I am. I'm less angry, less irrational, less susceptible to temptation. I don't want to swear, or be hateful to those I love. I want to do good things... THis is ALL Jesus, because it couldn't possibly be me! That voice within is the Holy Spirit, which also, I think, repels the devil. I feel the spirit. For me, it is a feeling. For you, it may manifest differently.

Does this mean that if you have never been disciplined by God then he doesn't love you?
What if God is simply very patient?

But I have bad things about me which don't seem to change cause they have been there for years and years and nothing improves.

Dear Boy- The Spirit bearing witness with our spirit means that the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, influences our spirit to operate and think much different than had before.

It means more of the qualities of God will be seen eminating from His Children- "As in "Fruit of th Spirit" produced.

God Bless!!

You've never been disciplined by God? Are you sure?

People tend to use discipline and punishment interchangeably. They are not one and the same. If I do something that is not pleasing to God, sometimes the discipline is immediate, as in conviction. Sometimes it is more time-delayed, so God can show me how something is going to play out. Sometimes I may pray for something and it doesn't happen immediately. The discipline is patience.
Tithing is part of your discipline and obedience. It's not punishment by any means. But by tithing, we are forced to be more discriminant with our spending and the Lord does reward those who are obedient. One would have to be more disciplined and self-controlled in their ways because, quite frankly, 10% of your pay is a good deal of money. Without discipline, we would get in a bind and then become a resentful giver.
How many times do we see on this site, people fly off the handle because of thier errors and when God disciplines them, then you hear this wailing about an "attack of the enemy" or some other thing? God's not up there just waiting, lightning bolt in hand, to smite us. He gives us many opportunities to get straight and fly right. He sends us people in our path to hold us accountable. He sends diversions to keep us from sin. You know when you're planning on going out to do something God would not approve of and the phone rings just as you are on your way out the door? Coincidence? I don't think so!
Just like our earthly father, God teaches us. He uses others to teach us also. Teaching is also a form of discipline. In the word discipline, you get the word "disciple" We cannot be disciples of Jesus Christ without discipline.
