How was Jesus tempted?

Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

What exactly does this mean? Does this mean that Jesus faced every kind of temptation which exists? Does this mean when he saw Mary Magdalene for example he was tempted and had to fight against his temptation? This is hard to imagine. I can't imagine that Jesus had to fight against improper thoughts. He didn't have a sinful nature. So what does being tempted in Jesus' case mean?
I can only imagine that temptation came to him from an outer source, for example in the scene where he was tempted by Satan. Satan tempted him as an outer source and Jesus reacted to this and fought Satan with the word of God. But I cannot imagine that Jesus himself fought battles in his own mind cause this would mean that he himself had improper thoughts.

And why did Jesus resist the temptations? Because he was God or because of fight against the temptation?

The Bible doesn't always go into specifics. I believe this is so that we don't put our pride into the equation.
If the Bible were to say, for example, that Jesus was tempted with strong drink, we may be apt to say,"Well, that's not such a temptation because I don't like liquor, so that wouldn't be an issue." or if it said that lustful women offered themselves and he resisted, we might say,"That's no big deal..." So the wording of His being tempted causes us to envision all that would tempt us and how hard it would be to resist whatever we have a weakness for and know that Jesus kept His integrity and kept Himself pure.

Hm..

But why was he able to resist? Because he was God or because he had the will to resist? I read something which confuses me. Somebody claimed that if Jesus only lived up to God's standard as God or Godman then the whole temptations make no sense because God cannot demand from us that we match Jesus' standards and live up to them because we are not God and also not a Godman like Jesus. What do you say about this? Was Jesus only able to resist cause he was God? But if he was only able to resist cause he was God then how could he who indentified himself with us human pay the price for us?

he was God.but human also he faced the same temptations we do we also have the same holy spirit that if we would just give up and let Him work in and thru us we would do a lot better of giving in to them

Hello Frederick,
Ron is right!
Your questions quoted in black:
Hm.. But why was he able to resist?
The bible tells us in Luke1:80
...the child(Jesus) continued to "grow", and to become strong in "spirit"...
Again in Luke 2:40
...the child continued to "grow" and become strong, increase in wisdom; and in the grace of God was upon Him.

(copy)Because he was God or because he had the will to resist? Was Jesus only able to resist cause he was God?
Please think about this:
Heb. 5:8,9
...Although He was a Son, He (Jesus)" learned obedience" from the things which He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to ALL who obey Him the source of eternal life.

(COPY)I read something which confuses me. Somebody claimed that if Jesus only lived up to God's standard as God or Godman then the whole temptations make no sense because "God cannot demand from us that we match Jesus' standards" and live up to them because we are not God and also not a Godman like Jesus. What do you say about this?
Please don't believing everything "someone claims". Do you have a bible to research these claims as being in accordance with the true Holy Word of God??
ARE YOU SURE THAT JESUS ISN'T THE ONE WHO SET GOD'S STANDARD FOR US TO OBEY? BECAUSE THAT DOESN'T SOUND SCRIPTURAL.
Matthew 17:27 (Jesus speaking)
...For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of his Father with His angels; and WILL THEN RECOMPENSE EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS...
Sound like Jesus is the one who set "the standard" for judgement of mankind. Instead of changing the standard Jesus set for man, we should listen to the instructions He gave us.
One question you didn't asking is; How came I overcome temptation in this world? Do you already know?
Luke 4:1
...And Jesus, "full of the Holy Spirit", returned from the Jordan and was lead to the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil...
Luke 4:13,14
And when the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. And Jesus returned to Galilee in the "power of the Holy Spirit"; and news about Him spread...

Out of love and joy for you and I, Jesus spoke these words:
Luke 24:49
"And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father...the Holy Spirit... upon YOU; but you are to stay until you are clothed with power from on high."
Matthew 17:17,18 (Jesus speaking to Simon)
"Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because, flesh and blood did not reveal this to you but "My Father who is in heaven." And also I say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock "I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it..."

Blessings!!!...God's Grace
